The check in worker was extremely rude. I didn't even bother staying to argue over it because I was already running late to a family party and she is young so in my head I figured she was having a bad day so I just disregarded it. The sink didn't work & the AC did not work either.

There is no excuse for a room to be dirty, as we tolerated the floor and even four by with the dirty floor in the tub. But waking up and seeing "Crack" written in blood was the straw that broke the camels back. That is a health safety hazard. In most instances, a manager being contacted would normally prompt some type of response or apology, but a lack of response spoke volumes.

Asked for Non-Smoking when reserving room, but was put in a very stinky smoking room on 1st floor. There was mold in shower and cigarette burns on the edge of the tub. There was no dresser, no housekeeping, toiletries, clock or hair dryer. Brown substance on the wall in bathroom. Noisey guests above that stomped around on the laminate floor and made the ceiling pop and creek. Local males gather in front of the hotel at night to party: very loud talking, music, and on Saturday night a gun was fired at 12:45 am. Not only is the room bad, it's not safe at night. My first and last stay at Motel 6.

The room was very dirty the only toiletries provided was a bar of soap. The laundry room STANK there was moldy water which was BLACK! The neighbors were blasting music all night and it was hard to sleep. WiFi was super slow kept disconnecting. And to wrap it all up, there was not one but two roaches found in the fridge and in the microwave.

The lights were already on in our room before we walked in, the bathroom was dirty from the people before, hair all over the shower walls, only 1 single soap for the whole room, 1 minuscule towel and to top it off the toilet overflows after 1 flush. Disappointed because we came here before once and our experience was totally different...

THE COCKROACH THAT CAME OUT OF THE TOILET PAPER!!

I wish i could give this motel 0 stars. The rooms were crawling with cockroaches. ONE FELL OUT OF THE TOILET PAPER ROLL!!! Absolutely disgusting and disappointed. Staff did nothing. There were old bottles and cans underneath the bed. If it wasn't so desperate we would have gone anywhere else.

Came to the area from Sacramento for a Girl Scout event. Needed somewhere to sleep that was safe for myself and two young daughters), clean and not too expensive. I looked everywhere and with some of these past reviews was nervous but decided I could not afford over $200 a night for a hotel in Santa Cruz. This was a good compromise. Upon check-in was told by the owner the complex is now 100% smoke-free and that they were doing renovations and I would get a room that had recently been completed. Room 344 was on the third floor and yes they do have an elevator so no big deal. It was situated towards the back of the property and was very quiet. Some dumpsters and cargo containers did take up parking spots but was able to park directly in eye sight when I looked out the window. I was pleasantly surprised with the new decor and layout. I will post photos. Yes they do not give you shampoo but for a Saturday night cost of $78 including tax I can bring my own shampoo. WiFi is available for a fee of $2.99 per day per device. Decided we could live without for one night. They have an outside pool (did not use as it was not heated and the wind was chilly). The well stocked vending machines, ice machines and washer/dryer are all located on the first floor. The owners also reside at the property which I feel is a plus. Immediately across the street are many stores (Big 5, Dollar Tree, Baskin Robbins), Food (Applebees, Jack in the Box, Subway) and a movie theater. I would definitely return to this centrally located motel.

Adj: Pretty Predictable HIE…read more This Holiday Inn Express was clean, spacious, the staff member who checked us in was warm and welcoming. She said she specifically put us in a room with a nicer view b/c we're platinum elite members, and up on the top floor so that we wouldn't have noise coming from above. So I'm not sure staff would do so if a customer wasn't an IHG member, but she was also helpful in explaining different facilities/services available. The room was spacious and mostly clean, bright, and comfortable. The carpet could use some steam cleaning and we didn't feel the carpet was clean, so we made sure to keep our flip flops on, but other than that everything else about the room was good. The pool was nice but cold, and we expected a spa which would've been nice, but our kids enjoyed swimming in the indoors pool. Although we didn't use the exercise room/small gym, it looked sufficient for a hotel stay workout. The breakfast service was plentiful although there was only 1 choice of yogurt and it had genetically modified ingredients so we couldn't feed that to our kids. There was enough of other items so that was nice, to include proteins. Overall, this was one of the nicer HIEs we've stayed at. Hopefully, it'll only get better and not worse. I just read some of the concerning reviews, and the reviews seem to either be glowing or alarming, so I hope the hotel has been taking steps to improve.

Our middle child is almost 2 and our youngest is four months old. Gilroy Gardens is located less than 30 minutes from Watsonville California. However, you have to travel through a curvy road in order to get there. It wasn't too bad of a drive and it drops you off right by the entrance of Gilroy gardens Some pros about this hotel- Clean- room was clean & staff was really prompt about tidying up our rooms in the morning and we didn't even have to ask. When we came back to our hotel room, our beds were made in our garbage was taken out and we had fresh towels. Private patio - we stayed in room 101 which was the family suite with a private patio. It had its own gated area and you could eat at the table outside if you wanted to. Pool- we did not swim, but there was an outdoor pool. As a family, it was a big bonus to find a place that had a kitchenette in it and allowed us to have meals in the room. In fact, there's a restaurant directly across the street that while we didn't eat there .. it smelled absolutely delicious. Just ok.. Our kitchen .. had no knives. We could not cut a watermelon. All the tableware was plastic and paper plates. We have stayed at other hotels with kitchens & were supplied with real silverware and plates. My husband was trying to stir our food with a plastic spoon and it melted . All the glassware was plastic too. We also were not supplied with any dishwasher soap . Breakfast- the lady that works there was helpful and nice. However, no waffles which was a bummer. A lot of the hot food didn't really taste great.. there was biscuits and gravy, round eggs and sausage. There was also lots of muffins, bagels and English muffins. There was also fresh yogurt with toppings fresh cut strawberries in the refrigerator. There was chocolate milk , white milk and juice. Plus a neat coffee maker that would make customized coffee orders for you. My actual favorite thing to have there was the fresh yogurt with the toppings. Usually I'm a hot food breakfast person but to be honest it wasn't very good. Our kids aren't picky and they really wouldn't eat it either including the French toast sticks. Our kids basically stuck to chocolate milk , strawberries and the premade muffin because the hot food was just not very edible. The machine that customizes your coffee is also located in the entryway of the lobby so if you want customize coffee other times the day they have it there too The not so great.. There was no trolley to bring your bags to and from the car. We did not know until we arrived and got our room that our room was located on the other side of the hotel. You had to walk down the sidewalk and up through the wooden gate to your private patio. While that is awesome and very private... We also have three small children and getting all of our things and three small children from across the parking lot onto a sidewalk and into our room was kind of a challenge. If our kids were older probably would not be a big deal as they could carry their own bags. We realized later that you can actually pull up your vehicle and parallel park on the street and it's a little bit closer so you can load up your vehicle before you leave. Along with no trolleys, there's also no elevators so if you have to be on the second floor, you're gonna have to bring all your baggage upstairs yourself without the help of an elevator. It was not the hotels fault.. but getting woke up before 8am the first morning wasn't so fun to jackhammer's hammering right outside the window. For the inconvenience, the hotel did add some points to our Best Western account though. The other thing I noticed was our room advertise for up to six people, however with two queen beds and a twin pullout .. it really only sleeps five. It worked out for us because we are a family of 5 and we had a crib, but if you're really counting on it to six people you might wanna consider it. So would we stay again... Maybe but with children that are our kids ages maybe not.

(So much more reasonable than other sites.) (before you pay the heavy prices at AirBNB or VRBO -reach out to Stacey at BestofDunes.com.) Walking into 59 Avocet could not be anything less than amazing! This place is incredible! Decorated with such care for the comfort of guests. I couldn't decide where to sit and watch the ocean - because not only is there Several seating areas - but each more comfortable than the next (my bad back was in heaven. ) Oceanview? Wow- just about anywhere you are in this house ! The giant floor to ceiling windows and open floor plan makes the views that much more Incredible. All I could say is - the photos don't do it justice. The deck with several tables, chairs and lounges had us out there Whale watching for hours. There's even a patio downstairs off One of the master bedrooms (yep there is 2 Master Suites (with Giant tubs!) If you want to get away for some chill time - THIS place is beyond Perfect - there was only two of us (myself and my Pool shark husband) yep - they have a pool table and a ping pong topper but 5+ couples could comfortably stay here (even more!) Perfect place for kiddies to play in a separate playroom, with a giant TV and a bazillion DVD's if that's your thing. I stopped counting how many TV's...and um 2 Kitchens? Yep, fully stocked with anything you want and too many type of coffee makers to mention (if you want to make a cake from scratch...even a mixer!) The only thing that stopped me from some moments of chill time was adventuring around this home, I kept finding more rooms and more special touches for guests! Tubs? Say Ahhhhh - cause there's actually 3 in this home! The stairs to get onto the beach are only steps away...but honestly - sitting out on the deck (or inside on one of the bazillion couches) ...well you just can't beat that. Review of shorebird 55 (Let me begin by saying that this review was submitted to At the Dunes…read morerental agency but never posted on their site.) Pros: *excellent beach access * lovely ocean view Cons: *furniture, towels, sheets in generally rundown condition *master bedroom has 1 bedside table and 1 lamp. I ended bringing in a small corroded outdoor iron table and moving a lamp from the second bedroom. * one floor lamp in the entire living room. Generally poor lighting. *Peeling paint in bathroom *mold in bathroom corners *uncomfortable living room furniture-outdoor wicker, way past it's comfort usage. No support. *unwashed sheets in second bedroom, unwashed towel in master bath. ( the rental agency was very responsive about this) In this time of Covid, these discoveries made our stay uncomfortable. Was this place really sanitized before our arrival? My point here is that a rental at the beach, for $400+/ night, should be comfortable in all aspects. This was not. For a total of $1800 for four nights, I would have expected much more.

This one in comparison--meh! Would definitely not stay there again. The property was clean enough but not stocked with minimal kitchen staples (like flour, cooking oil, aluminum foil). With VRBO you expect better. The patio furniture was so torn, cracked and ripped, our adult daughter had a huge blood blister after sitting on a green plastic chair. (See photos) This is not acceptable. Nor is the master bathroom door where you had to close the door completely in order to use the toilet. It was so cramped--and I'm only 5'1. Do not stay here if you are used to comfort, cooking, or a patio where you can sit out and see the sky. For $2000 for three nights, we expected a lot more than Shorebird #115.

Jesse Scott and his team have created a hosting experience that rivals some of the finest dining events I've ever attended. Perched atop the Seascape bluff overlooking Monterey Bay, the setting is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the Pacific creates the perfect backdrop for an elegant evening. What truly sets this event apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was attentive, polished, and genuinely invested in making the experience memorable. Their attention to detail rivaled--and in many cases exceeded--that of many five-star establishments. The food and whiskey pairings were outstanding. Chef Jae Moon delivered an exceptional menu that paired beautifully with an incredible selection of bourbons, including several rare expressions that even seasoned collectors don't often have the opportunity to enjoy. The educational component elevated the evening even further. The Suntory representative shared fascinating history and insights with the perfect balance of expertise, personality, and humor, making each tasting both informative and entertaining. From the spectacular setting and world-class hospitality to the remarkable food and exceptional spirits, every detail was thoughtfully executed. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend attending one--or several--of these upcoming dinners. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish, and I can't wait for the next one.
