I've really been looking forward to trying this for a few months and finally got the time to do so today for lunch. We arrived around 1:45 pm and there were absolutely no tables to sit at because it was so packed. The set up is a little odd - There's screens for self order when you walk in - but it wasn't until later I realized you can also place your order at the front. First thing I noticed upon walking in was how HOT it was inside. The place is very cutely decorated, however it is small. We opted to sit outside on a nice warm day in August but clearly that didn't last long and managed to snag a table inside by someone waiting for their food at an empty table.... The sandwiches are huge, with an oddly amount of slaw - which I pulled off half. The chicken breast was nicely cooked and juicy - however with the amount of time it took to come out - it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping for. We split a large fry and each got a sandwich. I should have taken the fries back up to get new ones as they tasted like they had been sitting a while - and hubs made the comment that they were tough. Restaurant was dirty - as yes I understand it was busy - but there weren't enough workers to keep it in running order. The place cleared out by the time we were done - and no sight seen of someone to come out and push the chairs in and tidy up. We shared an epic milkshake - it was good. Not sure if we will be back but glad we tried it.

TOP Chicken in KC...Mother Clucker! Mother Clucker is well-known in the KC area for its tasty chicken & different levels of heat/spice. You can find Mother Clucker inside of The Parlor KC or at the restaurant in Shawnee! Along with juicy meat served chicken tender style, this spot serves tasty crinkle fries, stacked sandwiches, & loaded shakes. You must order the signature sauce to dip your crinkle fries into! I ordered the Captain Crunch shake: vanilla shake loaded with whip cream, captain crunch pieces, powdered donuts, and more. I cannot wait to go back and order another shake. Add Mother Clucker to your Kansas City food bucket list today! This spot is convenient because there is plenty of space in the parking lot. The service was great and the restaurant was clean!

Decided to give mother clucker a try after reading all the 4-5 star reviews. Being a chicken sandwich fanatic myself, I just couldn't help but let the curiosity get the best of me. That being said, the OG chicken sandwich at mother clucker wasn't quite my cup of tea. The spice was definitely there, but the slaw was just not right. Adding sour and tang to an already tangy sandwich just doesn't make sense to me. I suppose the pickled cabbage on pickled pickles with the tangy spicy sauce slathered on the fried chicken was just overkill. Personal preference I suppose.

Happened to drive by and with such a catchy name, thought why not give it a try! The chicken tenders are jumbo and piping hot coming fresh out of the fryer. They, along with the fries are nicely seasoned. We opted for the 3 tender combo ($9 for the tenders, $4 to add small drink and fries) and a delicious gourmet dirty shake for $9. The food was great but a bit on the pricey side, however, 3 tenders fed 2 people which was nice. There's not much indoor seating but there's a large patio with seating outside. I do think the tenders should come with more than 1 dipping sauce. Any additional are 50 cents and with 3 jumbo tenders, 1 just doesn't cut it.

3 piece OG tenders with spicy honey dipping sauce, ketchup and ranch. All three were good. And fries.

I came here on a recommendation of another yelped. They have different levels of spicy. I got the OG tenders and fries. I have never in my 42 years had a tender burst with so many well combined spices. OG wasn't spicy. The mild had a little bite and there is a medium - we didn't get that but the one with the most heat, it but you back. Even with the spicy seasoning, every piece still had that OG flavoring. And l don't let me get started on the fries, Kringle cut, crispy but not too crispy. Just perfect. You self order at a kiosk and the employees fill the orders. They are friendly and available to help with anything. Establishment is a little small, no drive through but quaint and cut and not over stimulating. They seem to get steady business but I haven't really seen them over busy.

I enjoyed the flavorful Nashville hot chicken and the fast service at this new spot on opening day. The Nashville hot chicken was fried in seasoned oil and then dusted with spices. My order was ready just five minutes after I ordered at one of the two kiosks. The tender ($4.50) was nice and large with a thin, flavorful, somewhat crunchy coating and moist, premium, perfectly cooked white meat. Six heat levels were available. The "kicking it up" level I selected had a nice (but not overwhelming) amount of lingering heat - nice! The tender was served Nashville style with pickle slices and a slice of white bread. I also liked the flavorful crinkle cut fries ($3.00) and the vinegar-based slaw ($3.00). The dining area was clean and new with country oldies background music (not too loud) and one TV (off). I also noticed a patio out front. Overall, pretty good!

I love Mother Clucker but I especially love that I no longer need to go inside Parlor to get it. I decided to check out the new Shawnee digs. I liked that you can order from a person or from a kiosk. The service was quick and friendly. I got the three tenders and fries. You get to choose your spice level. I normally go pretty hot but I decided to go mild this time. It was still plenty spicy and still delicious. They have crinkle cut fries that you can't go wrong with. We also got the comeback sandwich but asked for the slaw on the side. The slaw didn't make it into our Togo bag but my boyfriend said he actually preferred the sandwich without the slaw so crisis averted. They don't skimp on the extra pickles. I'm a fan of this location and I'll definitely be back.

Gotta admit, this is a great Nashville hot Chicken Sandwich. Just as great as the original location at Parlor. I got the chicken sandwich and guess what the very first thoughts in my head were? IS THIS A PORK TENDERLOIN? Lol. No, it's chicken. The fries are excellent with the seasoning and the ranch dressing in's as great too. The cluck sauce is different, a bit too red cider vinegary for my tastes. The chicken tenders are huge too. My friend got the salad and loved it. Now, the shakes!!!!!!!! Lord have mercy how good the shakes are! That's right, splurge a little. Yeah, no pics, we were hungry and just dived in.

I've been coming to mother Clucker since they opened their flag ship store inside parlor. Their chicken is always cooked perfectly and adds a kick with their tasty seasoning. I am a big fan of their hot honey mixed with their cluck sauce when I go there. Today was a special occasion because they had their collaboration with Mr. D's donuts and their chicken. Absolutely amazing and so flavorful. Left me in a food coma on my couch!

I found the hot chicken in KC! Six different heat levels to please everyone's taste buds. I tried the Comeback Hot Chicken sandwich. Flavor of heat was great, juicy chicken and served with crinkle cut crisp fries. So good! The milkshake was amazing. Loved how it looked and it tasted even better. Everyone working there was super friendly and helpful. They have a great seating area and even an outdoor patio.

Finally got the chance to check out the location in Shawnee, Kansas. I have only had their parlor location prior today I went a little after the lunch hour service was super friendly and fast. You have the option to order at the counter or through a kiosk. You can also order pick up and get it curbside. I ordered at the counter where I got jumbo tenders, a sandwich, and a Cap'n Crunch shake. There are a number of seating options inside as well as outside on the patio area. On the patio, they have TVs and a fire pit as well as heaters for chillier times. When I received my food, everything was hot and fresh. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. I got my shake and everyone Around me, was so impressed with the size of it from the tenders, to the sandwich, to the shake, everything was amazing. They have great seasoned fries, as well as a number of sauces to choose from. You can choose the heat amount you want from not spicy too very spicy. Parking is easy to access. I cannot recommend this place more, it is one of my favorite places in Kansas City.

Located in downtown Shawnee area. I stopped here for dinner on a Friday night. It's a small dine in place. Nice and clean inside. Building has been updated. Mother Clucker wall art inside. Walk in and order at the counter or at the kiosks. Chicken meal menu with your choice of heat level preferences. I ordered The Comeback Sandwich which is huge! Spicy chicken served on a bun with pickled red cabbage with a side order of crinkle cut fries. That's what make their sandwich unique from other places.

    Kiosks for Ordering
    Kayla Y.

We loved Mother Clucker in the Parlor building and love it just as much at its first flagship location. The kiosks are simple and easy, the decor is beautiful, and the food is consistent and quick. The Cluck Yeah blazing heat left the perfect amount of bite after you chew and swallow. The fries have a tinge of sugar on them in addition to seasoning which makes these addictive! A small and thoughtful note about the restrooms: the little white containers in the women's bathroom had feminine products in them. It was a sweet way to care for female customers who might be unprepared!

I'm excited just thinking about it. But oh man was I hoping for better. And I think this place could get there, if they can change some things. Joyce and Brandy laid it out well, so I'll just echo some main points: - The food could be better. Apparently it has been before. What I saw felt pretty low effort, the crispiness wasn't there. (South) Korean Fried Chicken is amazing because even with those delicious sauces, the chicken stays crispy. Best of both worlds! These wings were soggy. I didn't feel great after eating the meal. It wasn't ideal. - The service was nonexistent. I came up to the human at the counter, who directed me not to talk to her but to put in my order on the screen to the side. I hate these. I hate them so much. The UX on the terminal was clunky, the navigation in particular was so bad that there were whole sections of the menu that seemed to be missing. I now know to swipe left on the headers to scroll right to a second page of root-level categories, but be honest, just reading that in a sentence is confusing and annoying. Some people may like kiosks. That's fine! But mandating them is awkward and obnoxious. - I'm still on the service. There's a big menu. There are paper menus. There are little signs advertising fun looking items. I already know what I want. It is so much easier and more enjoyable to order with a real human and get their help. Why put the added friction of learning a clunky interface? An employee would be fluent in the system even if it's bad. And if my case is any indication, it's not helping their sales. I would totally have ordered more dishes if I'd known that was an option. It just looked like they were out so it wasn't available. - After putting in the order, I was prompted for a tip for the service. Which just felt like a coup de grace to my psyche. - It felt like there was no heart here. That's probably an ownership issue. I'm sympathetic to a point, it's not easy in general and there's a lot of pressure to cut costs (especially with the tariff arsonist disrupting supply chains). But the vibe here was dismal, you could feel it in the food and the staff. The space itself seems set up well to have large groups and good times. Could be a fun spot. But right now, the impression I get is that aside from the wings the kitchen does a lot of prepackaged instant food. So I'm not sure what they're trying to be - a decent wing place, or more of a fast-food/gas station type of spot. A vending machine with a deep fryer. Like I said before, this place has potential to be great if they can change some things. They're just going to have to want to. I'm rooting for them.

There's plenty of bright decor, neon signs, and TVs all around playing everything from live sports to K-Pop music videos! Upon request, our wonderful waitress walked us first-timers through the menu and made some recommendations (spoiler: all were fantastic!). We nabbed a couple appetizers - fries and mac and cheese - and ordered two half chicken servings: one thigh meat, one breast meat. With the chicken we tried four different sauces, and all were fantastic! Our favorites were the spicy sweet chili and the glazed honey soy! The chicken is perfectly fried - super crispy, but still moist meat! They know how to fry up a mean chicken here! We crushed ALL the food, and it was a perfect amount for four hungry people! Although the menu set expectations of the chicken being made fresh and taking up to 20 minutes to cook and arrive, ours arrived much quicker! Props to the cook for the prompt service! There's 4 street parking stalls out front on Johnson Dr. The inside is clean & AC was nice on hot days. I got the med cup with pistachio and coconut. We watched the girl making our cups and noticed she gave more of one flavor than the other in each of our cups. I was a lil disappointed about that. It ended up being 2/3 dark chocolate and 1/3 strawberry in wifey's cup. There was 2/3 pistachio and 1/3 coconut in mine. I like even amounts if you're gonna have a cup with 2 flavors. Lil bit of one flavor mixed with the second flavor. I ended up with a bit more pistachio than I expected. Wifey definitely had more dark chocolate than strawberry. I think next time we'll ask if they can scoop closer to even amounts of each. Although the total amount of gelato was more than worth the cost.
