This was the worst service I've experienced in years. The woman at the counter wouldn't acknowledge us, and when she finally did, she was rude and unpleasant. We waited far too long, no one was in the drive thru or at the order window. So no excuses. We ordered three items and only received two--and both were the wrong sizes. Thankfully, we weren't charged for the third. On a positive note, the items we did receive tasted good. I did try to clarify the issue with her, but she had no interest in correcting it. read more

FPO wanted to try Andy's Frozen Custard for a while. We were finally in the area and stopped by the one on Shawnee Mission Parkway. It was a hot, humid July afternoon and we could see a lot of people in the drive thru as well as walking up the counter. It seemed like this is the place to go after you get done at one of the many public pools. I got a medium Key Lime Pie Concrete. FPO got a medium Strawberry, Oreo Cookie Concrete. Our total bill came just over $14. The concretes were okay but I personally prefer Freddy's. Still, it was a nice afternoon and nice treat. read more

Very good concretes, my one treat a week and I make it an Andy's (pecans, Reese's peanut butter cups & Heath bar -well mixed- medium)! The service is good, they are working hard because a lot of people come here and they do a great job getting orders out quickly. There is no indoor seating but the ambience is community! A lot of people eat outside and take photos with the big ice-cream statue. A lot of people park and eat their treat too. read more

Andys!!! My favorite frozen custard! I come here every weekend and my go to, is the snowmonster. For the snow monster, they take chocolate sauce that hardens and splashes it in your cup around the edges. They also put it in the vanilla custard and blend it with strawberries. So it has a great sweet tang to it. Plus I love at the end scraping all of the chocolate from the sides. I have tried other seasonal items too. My favorite seasonal is the pumpkin pie concrete. So buttery, creamy and just a great flavor. The key lime pie concrete is ok to me. I think its not one of my favorites because key lime pie can tend to be too sweet for me. I do love the pie pieces in the concrete. I had mentioned earlier I loved the snowmonster but this summer (2021) they introduced the version with blueberries. I prefer it with the strawberries, I found myself chewing the blueberries a lot and picking them out of my teeth. Also the sweetness and the tartness plays off better with the strawberries and chocolate. My dad orders the banana split and he loves that, nothing special its just a banana split. He also gets the butter pecan concrete and loves it as well. As for sizes they used to have only large and regular but now I order small. That is enough for me. My advice is order the snowmonster, you will not be disappointed. read more

Hands down my favorite ice cream place! My husband and I probably visit this location weekly, yes even during the winter. Why? Because custard is good all.year.long! His go to is the 87 concrete, Travis Kelce's featured concrete for his foundation. I usually mix up my choice every time we visit because everything on the menu is good. My second favorite ice cream place next to Yogurtini. I came to the new location they recently opened on Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee, KS. They have loyalty cards that works like Yogurtini. Where every dollar you spend, you would accumulate points and when you get 50 points you get a free one. I like getting their sundaes. The first time I came here, I got the Stolen Brownie Sundae which consisted of homemade brownies covered with hot fudge, roasted pecans, and topped with a cherry. The hot fudge make it really rich and too sweet for my taste, but overall it was a nice treat. Therefore, the second time I came here, I got a basic kids size vanilla sundae with cookie dough topping. It was the perfect amount of sweetness I could handle. I wanted to try it out since I saw a line there and thought it must be good if there a line to get buy custard from there. We went after church service so there wasn't a big line there when we went. I ordered the butter pecan concrete which is a more frozen longer than usual custard is. It really hit the spot since it hit about 92 that afternoon. This place is my ULTIMATE WEAKNESS!! I shouldn't be eating Ice Cream (or in this case, Frozen Custard) - but come on, we should be able to treat ourselves to a little joy... In moderation. Andy's is so convenient. There are several locations all over the metro. You can't go wrong. Just order what sounds good. There are too many choices to mention - but one of their new flavors definitely should get an honorable mention... The Jitterbug!! So the Jitterbug is a concrete with vanilla custard, espresso, almonds and Heath Bar - all mixed up to perfection. If you are a coffee lover, this it IT!!! I tried adding fudge on one occasion, but I think it ended up being too sweet. So just go with their recipe, and you'll be on cloud 9 in no time. I should also mention that their service is fantastic!! Sometimes, I'm over the moon about how kind and attentive they can be. Once, I forgot my wallet. I offered to go home and get it, assuming they would keep our items cold... They said, hey you're a regular - don't worry about it. That really means a lot to me. Worst place ever in every regard from their custard to their customer service. I ask and pay for extra cheesecake with big chunks and raspberries and they give me extra raspberries and no cheesecake. I return it and they remake without hardly any cheesecake and raspberries like out of spite and tell me they are charging me for extra cheesecake. Unbelievable! I decided to try this place twice before I posted my raving review. My first visit - oreo turtle jammer. Vanilla custard with oreos and caramel with a fudge center. It was sooo good! I loved the oreo & custard combo and then to have a fudge center. Husband got the Aunt Elaine's strawberry sundae....do not recommend. I don't think their marketing group tried this before describing it. The cake had a gritty texture and a well funky taste. What a disappointment! Second visit - my staple buttered pecan concrete. I would rank this a little lower than their competitors due to the fact that they didn't seem to have as many pecans in theirs - the ratio was off. Would I and am I going back again - absolutely! Simply the best frozen custard I have ever had. I am from Wisconsin....the land of frozen custard! And I have to say, this is the best custard I've had, including custard in Wisconsin! It's better than Culver's. Which is an entirely different review I have yet to write! Andy's is also all about community service. Our church held a fall festival, and Andy's graciously donated gift cards for our silent raffle, and buy-one-get-one free coupons by the hundreds to hand out as prizes and to people who bought wristbands for rides. They are very conscientious about peanut allergies; my daughter is allergic and they always announce peanut allergy, and make sure to make it in a separate area than the rest of the custard treats. The drive through is ultra convenient, and we've even bought quarts of custard to take home! The other nice thing they do without hesitation is let you make substitutes like chocolate custard for vanilla on sundaes. This is our family's "Favorite Treat" place. Make it yours!!! read more

Very good quality custard with a great rewards card. However, my fiancé and I ordered a large size concrete to share, and it wasn't blended well. The last 1/3 of the cup was just vanilla custard. So we were disappointed that they did not blend it all the way through. This is my third favorite custard place as a result. Their custard is not as rich as Sheridan's. The vanilla frozen custard on its own is delicious. Throw in some butterscotch and roasted salted pecans, and I was in my happy place. They may need to pass a law against eating one while driving though. I think I swerved a couple times. Price to portion seems fair.
