Steve and I had some Western Collective a while back. My backlog for brewery reviews is significant so it took me a while to get to this one to write about but the experience with this brewery was a good one! I had their Blonde Ale a couple of different times and was fairly fond of it. Not anything to really etch into my memory but a good and refreshing one as I refer back to my notes for this one and from what I can recollect. Flavor features with this solid Blonde Ale are grainy, clean and some sweetness. It's very light bodied and very easy to have more than ine... which in fact we did. read more

If you're in the area you have to stop by western collective. We love love love going in the summer and the fall. They always have fun music, great bar food and overall just a relaxing atmosphere. We love that we can go here with friends but still take our daughter and our dog! They also have great little photo shoot spots everywhere! read more

I can't comment on their drinks since I haven't tried one yet, but this is a real cool spot to chill. I've never been pressured into buying anything, and I appreciate that. My improv classmates and I will often come here after our class on Mondays. The drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, have all looked good. The slushies always look tempting. Lots of space out back to hang at tables. They have two sets or cornhole games. I think my favorite part is the cat that wanders around and will sometimes let you pet him. (I think it's a him). read more

Came here today with daughter and her husband and really loved the vibe of the place. It's is tucked back off the street so you kinda have to look for it but once inside very open concept with lots of seating at the bar, couches, chairs and a great outside area of the weather was a little nicer. The staff here is also super friendly plus they are kid and pet friendly. I enjoyed a beer flight of mixed IPA's and some Stouts. My wife enjoyed their red wine flight and she really loved each of the wines including the rose. While my SIL had their signature IPA and my daughter had one of their homemade slushies which they also both loved. After a couple games of air hockey with my SIL we wrapped up and was off to our next adventure for the day. This place has a really laid back atmosphere and we really enjoyed our time. I find the prices to be over inflated. A shot of Bailey's Irish Cream was $9. The server was incredibly unsympathetic of the situation and tried to justify the cost and not very well. The only thing good about this place is Comet the brewery cat. read more

I don't think I can love a brewery more than I love Western Collective. They have really worked the space to be cozy and warm for small pods of people (on the inside) and... well... anything goes outside. Dancing, big jenga, swimming pool lounging, mingling... You can often find a DJ, event, or loud music to get you pumped. If you want a brewery that is... shhh... this is not your place. You can go into the merch. room and post up and relax but this isn't really a quiet place in general. When I don't want loud music I just find a good spot away from the speakers or in the side yard (that they decorate!! FUN!!). (Beach this summer and now it is like a farm or hay ride.) Grab a yummy beer or a frosé, (a frozen dream in a cup for you wine people). California Reject (hef ish), Brosé, Picabo Juice, and a Frosé are my top selections and always help me bring my A+ game. On a temperate day this is a great place to be outside in their beer garden, eating from the weeny wagon (if open), or sipping a coffee (at the coffee bar). Let's be honest, any day, no matter the weather, is a great day to be here. So friendly, and so fun! read more

Honestly I was just looking for an early morning espresso before I left town, and omg I found this amazing place. First of all, they have a car that lives there and they're super dog friendly. The vibe is young and hip and super local. I felt cool just being there lol. The early morning was quiet and relaxing, but I can totally see it filling up for night time. The espresso was great, we were able to drink it in the beer garden and enjoy the Sun. We also stocked up on beers while we were there and omg they were the best ones we had on the whole trip. Definitely a must do while in Boise!! read more

Located in Garden city, Western Collective is the coolest brewery and taproom in town. And I don't even drink beer. The decor and vibe are very Marfa, Texas. It is welcoming, artsy and laid-back, but like nothing you've ever experienced. The sign on the front door tells you everything you need to know about this place. It is a Shaka sign with the slogan "No guns. Be cool. Have fun." They have 16 beers, Merriweather cider, hard seltzer and cold brew coffee on draft. Non-beer drinkers can choose from two frozen drinks, Frose and Aperol, as well as three wines. They also have artisanal coffee. On Sundays they have a DJ. Children are allowed for limited hours. Highly recommended!!! read more

Western Collective has been one of our favorite breweries for years, being a frequent stop all year, but especially in the summer to enjoy their patio, cool vibes, games, and decently priced frozen drinks and beer. Sadly, all the things we've enjoyed about this place have consistently gone down hill over the past few years. They took my favorite drink, the Frose' off the menu and replaced it with a collection of tooth achingly syrupy sweet drinks. The food that was added is mediocre and every time we've ordered the pizza it's been disappointing (either burnt or soggy, no in-between). Recently they were granted a liquor license and advertised a full bar with cocktails. We were excited to check it out. When we went we were greeted by 6 liquor bottles on a tray, a $15 price tag for a tiny cocktail, and a 30 minutes wait for them to make it when we were one of only a few customers but multiple servers. Seems like they added liquor without providing bar training as none of the bartenders knew how to make the drinks on their own menu. We still love the decor and Comet the brewery cat, but the things that drew us here before can't make up for the increasingly pricy drinks and poor service. read more

The space was awesome, the service was top notch, and the beer (and NA drinks too!) were tasty. The highlight for sure was the brewery cat, who graced us with his presence for about 30 seconds. Inside out: this place is my STYLE, as a native Idahoan I can appreciate some western, this place is modern, comfy, homey, and everything about it screams have a beer and relax here. They have great tunes, great parking, and beer garden is coming in the spring, and I ADORE their furniture!! The location is a little off the beaten path! The beer list is wonderfully displayed on parchment paper, like I am going to have to get my butt off the couch and chill here. Service: as hoping as this place is without fail fantastic and informative, friendly and warm. Dogs welcome as far as I can tell, which I love! Their beer is fantastic, love the names, love the flavor, love the vibes. Their gift shop is a must stop if you are visiting and want to take some western with you, average prices but lovely quality goods. I got a tea shirt and it's damn comfy, stylish, and worth 20$ to sport some local beer fashion. read more

On my latest Boise trip, I think this was my favorite brewery. Partially for the experience, and partially for the beer. In terms of the beer, you could probably get better elsewhere for certain styles. I actually think Sockeye has better beer overall. But the atmosphere is awesome here. It's got the vibe less of a business and more of just a place where everyone is hanging out, and they happen to be serving beer that they make. They were better with Covid protections because they had a big outdoor area, but then a big door was open so that the indoor area was well ventilated. And they didn't let people just hang out by the bar. So I appreciated that. I say the beer wasn't great, but I did take a couple of cans home, so they must have done something right, because I don't normally do that. I would definitely be back. read more

Oh Western Collective. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... 1. Dogs and Children (to some extent) are allowed in. When you want to meet your friends for a quick happy hour, but remain encumbered by tiny terrors, a place like WC is a real lifesaver. At a certain point in the day, children are no longer allowed (also great), but I think pooches can bask on the patio all day. 2. The PATIO! I love a good patio and WC does it so well. It is very large and always has something Instagramable on board. In the summer they have large picnic tables under a shade canopy with misters and Swim Club on the side (a large stock tank with floaties). It's adorable. In the autumn, they set out hay bales and pumpkins and make the perfect spot for a fall photo. And though I haven't been in winter yet, I've seen the photo proof of a GIANT tent on the patio with heating, and hilarious 80's ski gear for your photo taking pleasure. 3. They serve amazing coffee and beer. This places opens early in the morning so you can get a dreamy cup of coffee and enjoy the inside or outside. My most favorite beer is the Picabo Juice, which is very odd, since I don't love IPAs. Their beer names are hilarious. I heard their pumpkin spice latte was incredible. Everything is a tad bit on the pricier side, but not too terrible. You're definitely paying for a wonderful, local brewery experience. 4. The inside is also huge. There is a lot of sitting around the bar, but turn the corner when you enter and there is a WHOLE other area with merchandise and seating. You can also peep the beautiful beer brewing background when you need to use the facilities. There are plenty of options for seating or chilling. Party is usually in the back, more relaxed atmosphere up front. Just like my childhood boyfriend's mullet. read more

While exploring the craft beer scene in Idaho this spot came up. It is in a more industrial area with easy parking in front and on the nearby street. It is in what appears to be a former warehouse turned brewery. A giant open doorway leads you into a huge brewery with the brew tanks onsite and in plain view. The day I visited it there was an excessive heat warning in the area so it was pretty miserably hot. The two servers were trying to get a swamp cooler going, no go, but can't judge this place from the heat. The decor and design are actually why the 5 stars for me. A huge outside are with games and plenty of shade. The inside was equally large with a distinct cowboy western vibe going. On the way to the restroom is another indoor area that has loads of apparel. Cool and hip designs on t-shirts. The beers were good except, lacking a finish. I had a hazy flight. They all had a good flavor at first sip, but finished a bit bitter. Not sure why. I drink beer, I don't make it. They also had a few speciality blended drinks. Yummy. I would definitely recommend giving this spot a visit with some friends. Love their coffee! I'm a latte junkie, and their espresso bean tastes a bit different from other ones. Not sure what kind they use, but it's good! This place does mainly beer and is a cool environment to chill with a small or large group. As someone who doesn't drink, I dig it because I can meet up with friends who love beer and get a good coffee instead. They have pastries, which I'll definitely try next time. The woman who helped me was super friendly. We talked about the crazy weather, and she said they are opening a spot downtown that will have bowling! Pretty cool joint with lots to choose from. Just visiting Boise and my friend took me here. Originally went for a Frose' Rose but saw they had mulled wine and I decided on that instead. Great place for some day drinking. I am always leary of any place that over does a menu (size), and unfortunately I think it's the case here. Tons of beers on tap, but nothing that blows you away. The patio and open feel is fun and airy and hot dogs in the back are a great new addition. Most certainly a garden city gem for those seeking somewhere fun to drink. If I had to change one thing... dile back the beer menu and focus of perfecting each style first. It's a bunch a good beers, but what makes a place in my mind, is keeping it simple. It's a bit of a college Greek feel, but hasn't been over the top in the two times I have been there. Overall.. it's a fun place and worth the trip but don't expect to be writing home about the beer. read more

I don't drink beer, but I'm always in the market for a good late night coffee place. Giant American Flag This place is on 33rd tucked south off of Chinden before the connector, and it is shockingly my type of place. Breweries are not my thing. Coffeeshops are my thing. This is a mashup. The lighting here is fantastic, ceilings high, seating comfy, and the overall vibe is industrial western. Happenstance I was, pleasantly surprised to chat with Amie who was there with a group of her friends. I like seeing people I know when I go out and coincidences like this are my favorite. This place is just perfect for a gathering. It is roomy and airy but still feels cozy. Whoever arranged the furniture is brilliant. Despite it being a full house, it did not seem crowded. Not even slightly. Do You Like Dags? I ordered an almond milk latte, which I enjoyed curled up on a couch. I was in luck because there was a dog named Barley who wanted to play fetch. So fetch we played. He kept me company all night while I sipped my coffee. I really love this place. Beer is really good here but the pizza was doughy and needed to be cooked for a couple more minutes. It's also super disappointing that they had no TVs during a huge match madness game. All the other breweries were slammed besides this place and now I know why. People like to have a beer and watch the game. read more

Nice place to hangout! We went here a few weeks back for beer and wine. Very laid back feel. I am not sure about the restrictions now, but when I went indoor drinking was allowed.
