While driving to Tahoe, we drove over a railroad track and heard a noise. Then about in 100 ft, got a low tire pressure...flat tire! Looked online to see where the closest tire shop was, and I found Motion Tire and Wheel about 43 miles away. Got there about 15 mins after they opened. Unfortunately the hole was too large to patch, and we had to get a new tire. Had 3 others in front of us but by 10am we were back on the road. Sky, the office manager, has fantastic customer service! Got a nail in my tire right before Christmas and was recommended to go to motion as I'm still kind of new to the area and had no idea where to go. Called on my break to ask about price as I was nearly broke because of Christmas and was quoted around $15 which was great, I took my car in on my lunch and they repaired the tire, mounted it and put the spare back in the trunk all within maybe 10 mins and I was told have a great day... when I mentioned I still needed to pay the lady smiled at me and said merry Christmas no charge have a great day!! Motion has ways done good work, but this time I had them mount and balance 4 new tires. The left rear tire valve stem was not tightened properly. Twenty minutes later, I got back into my truck to go to the store and the in cab display showed 19 lbs in the right tire. I got out to look and gauged the pressure, it registered 40 psi. I looked at my left rear tire and it was almost flat. Hmmmmm, I put 40pzi in the left rear tire and it registered 40 psi now on the right sensor. Not sire how they managed that. I would have given them 5 stars, but this one is just them not paying attention to what they were doing. Taking it back Monday when they open to have them fix sensor issue. My rating could go either way depending on how they treat this situation. read more

Not being from Ridgcrest I will say... this place is the friendliest most respectful and trustworthy service when it comes to dealing with your tires. They have helped me numerous times from flat tire repairs , rotations, to the purchase of new tires. I highly recommend new customers to try Motion Tire. This 30yr family owned business seems honorable and honest when it comes servicing visitors who are stressed, concerned and worried about how they will be able to get their family home... SAFELY! Even though they did not have my specific Toyota Sienna SE tire in stock, they quickly offered to order tires for me and have them delivered they following morning. No other tire shop in this area offer to do this for me. We need more honest businesses like this in the LA area. I hope no one ever has to deal with a flat tire on the side of the highway, but if they do... I hope you find a business like this. Clean shop. Many workers on staff. Normally, I have a great experience at Motion Tire. I have purchased tires there and generally had a good experience. This time I was not acknowledged at all by outside staff. After standing around waiting I came inside to notify the front desk I simply needed air in my tires (tires purchased there) and I tried to explain that the guys outside don't know that I need air because nobody acknowledged me. Front desk staff rudely told me, "That is because they are busy" and I'd have to wait. Yeah. I get they are busy. But somebody is going to have to tell them what I need. While another local tire place tried to take advantage of my need to fix it quick by charging me premium pricing, Motion Tire came through honest and fair. I took our van into Motion Tire and Wheel and I asked them if they could rotate and balance the tires on our van, and I mentioned that we did get the tires at their business. They were so very nice! I came in with my friend and they rotated and balanced the tires so quickly, in only about 20 minutes. And I asked how much I owed them and the girl behind the counter said they weren't charging anything because we had purchased the tires there. The story of how I got the flat is a good one (off-roading with my R-Pod trailer in Death Valley)... but isn't the topic for this review. Being a long way from home and somewhat stranded (I had a spare) I was looking at replacing all four tires (all wheel drive and partially warn). I called Motion around 3:00 from DV and they said they'd have a set by 10:30-11:00 the next morning. When I arrived at 10:45 they had the tires and started right away. Just finished getting my car serviced here. I'm from out of town and got two nails stuck on a tire. Needless to say the psi in the tire quickly started dropping and my concern quickly started escalating. This just happened to be the nearest tire shop so i made my way over. Best decision ever. These guys were polite and efficient. One guy helped me with the tire (which took all of 10 minutes). Another guy noticed that my front license plate was crooked (thanks Carmax) and offered to fix it up for me. He was tedious, meticulously measuring the plate and getting it in the right position before he drilled two holes to keep it in place. I tried to tip but they wouldn't take it. These guys are the real deal. If you want fantastic service then you've found the right place. Don't know if I'll ever be back up in Ridgecrest again but if I ever have an issue I'll be back again. read more

Had a blowout on 395 on my 5th wheel toy hauler and the body shop that repaired the damage the blown tire caused recommended Motion Tire because the tires were original on the trailer from 2005 and that I should not chance driving home on these tires. Service was very good and the staff was quite friendly but unless you're stuck in ridgecrest, I'd pass and do some shopping. I'd called around in ridgecrest and Motion was best; but they checked my trucks tires and said I needed to replace all 6 and quoted me over $1,200 for a set of yokohamas. This seemed a bit high. Desert Truck Service in Mojave recommended a set of Hercules tires for $616 for the 6- maybe not as good as the yokohamas but still a good tire. and would have been $333 for the 4 trailer tires I paid Motion $518 (and Motion had quoted 490 out the door) read more
