Came here with a few friends, spot is nice yet casual so it was a great spot to catch up and have fun. We shared several plates, so I had a chance to try a little of everything. For an app, we had the burrata with their signature olive oil and sea salt. It was fantastic! For dinner, we all split the cavatelli, duck ragu, and the agnolotti. All were good, however, the cavatelli was by far my favorite. The hot sausage and brown butter sauce were super unique! The pizza was great. I feel the need to comment on dining experience & atmosphere... we sat out on the patio & the tables & chairs are of terrible quality. As well, no umbrellas and/or table settings. There should have been napkins, chili flakes, what not. The worst was that flies were every where. I have a feeling the pizzeria will be great, because the best items in the dinner was the house made pizza Bianca (bread) we got as starter and the chef's fresh mozzarella tasting. The ending was also good, both tiramisu and the peach upside down cake (my husband loved it, personally I tasted the egg which kind of destroys a cake for me). The entrees were not up to the mark, I found the Cavatelli with brown sage butter to be just average, kind of dry, they replaced the sausage with cauliflower since I'm a vegetarian. My husband did not like Pappardelle with Maitaka (some mushroom pasta) at all. Do have to say customer service was excellent. Overall, we might check out the pizzeria again, but won't be coming here for the pastas unless the menu changes! read more

For startes we shared the bread and oil, a ceasar salad, and the burrata with sea salt. The ONLY thing of the whole meal I didn't like was the bread was cold and I wish it was served warm. For entres we got to share: eggplant marinara, cavatelli with hot sausage and brown butter sage, gnocci marinara with ricotta, bolognese, and the meatballs. This pizza is spot on. I tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was so impressed that I went back yesterday. We ordered a supreme pizza on the first visit. First of all, the crust is so thin and crispy. Just delicious. The pizza slices are huge. We ate on the pizza all night. We chose to eat in and while we were waiting the employee....maybe the owner...gave us another slice to try....vodka sauce with pancetta and basil. OmG. I almost wished I would have ordered that instead. I am a supreme, pepperoni, oe sausage and pepperoni girl but that made me rethink my life choices. My wife and I love that more and more restaurants from NYC are expanding to Nashville and Frankies is a great addition. We've tried both the dine-in restaurant and the take out Pizzeria and both are great! Service was excellent at both and the food is very, very good as well. We enjoyed the roasted cauliflower, broccoli rabe, and the cavatelli with sausage and sage butter, all of which were very flavorful and cooked well. We've tried the Sicilian and classic pies at the pizzeria and both were good, but the classic round pie was the best. Frankies is a very nice restaurant overall and we'll definitely be back. I've been wanting to try this place and we finally made it. This review is for the restaurant and not for the pizzeria next door. The interior is warm and inviting with a full bar and they also have umbrella covered tables outside. The staff were friendly and helpful as we had a few questions about the menu. We were told that menu does change depending on the season. We had 3 dishes , 2 soups along with some bread and an a' la carte meatball. Everything was flavorful and fresh. My wife wasn't diggin on the meatball, but me and my granddaughter liked it. They serve the full menu 7 days a week and do Brunch on the weekends. Free parking at the apartments next door. This review is specifically for the Pizzeria not the restaurant. We first got very confused walking into the restaurant to then realize they do not serve Pizza and it was next door. Very confusing but apparently everyone makes the mistake! Pizzeria side is very stereotypical pizza place with options. We did like that you could order by the slice which is different for Nashville. This is very much a New York adopted option. Pizza is very good for Nashville I will say, does not compare to the real thing of NY slices but I don't think that exists out here. My one gripe is the price, we spend almost 30 dollars on 4 plain slices and 2 cokes. The pizza was close but not close enough imo, nice and thin but not enough cheese to sauce ratio, the slice was burnt as well. I think they put it in the oven too long, crust was tough to bite down on. Did fill the ny slice craving. read more

The salad was ok. It was a little too zesty for me. The bread and oil were just regular bread and olive oil. The zephyr squash with pesto is a cold dish and was really good. The silver queen corn ravioli with crispy prosciutto and lemon was good too. I didn't think the prosciutto was gonna be in small bits but the pasta itself was refreshing. The linguine with spicy marinara and Alabama blue crab was also tasty. It wasn't spicy to me and had a decent amount of blue crab. I am quite impressed with Frankie's. This review is for the Pizzeria, not the dine-in Spuntino (although I'm planning a visit for a proper sit-down dinner soon!) Our group of four ordered a couple of pizzas on a Friday night, and they were fresh out of the over and ready for carryout in less than 20 minutes. We were planning to grab a seat and enjoy our pies outside, but it was a bit too chilly on this particular visit. I was wondering if two pies would be enough for four people ... and I'm happy to report that these pizzas are HUGE! This is true NY-style pizza, and the topping to slice ratio is spot on. We tried both the Classic and the Supreme and had zero complaints (and only a couple of slices left over). I do like a saucy pie and these are not that ... but I didn't find myself missing the extra sauce! This is a must-try for pizza lovers in Nashville, and I know I'll be back again soon! read more

I've been on a foodie tour in Nashville and today was no different. I had a pasta craving and did a quick Google search for a place nearby. Frankie's was an immediate yes based on their website and having two restaurants to choose from. I'd been at a coffee shop getting some work done so I was in yoga pants and a t-shirt. I wondered if I might not meet a dress code by entering 925 Spuntino so I was prepared for having to opt for pizza at their Pizzeria. But no dress code and plenty of seats at the bar meant I could indulge in the pasta of my choice. It's a swanky spot but appeals to the casual dresser. Shout out to the bartender who graciously answered my question about the most popular menu items. I went with the Cavatelli with Hot Sausage and Browned Sage Butter. Oh. My. Gosh! The flavor and temperature were perfect. Not to mention the bartender paired my wine perfectly. The dish looks like a small serving but it's so filling. Came for lunch and was amazed to find a Frankies 925 Italian Compound on this corner that includes a pizzeria, a sit down restaurant, and a fresh foods market. I visited the Pizzeria. Staff were super nice and helpful. They carefully described the available pizza slices. I opted for 1 Lucia (olives, red onion, garlic) and 1 Frankies Hot (with delicious hot sausage) on the lunch special. I also supplemented with a slice of Pepperoni Sicilian. The 2 items that really stand out (and my mouth is watering as I write this) are: 1. The Crust. Both the thin and the Sicilian crusts were delicious and cooked perfectly. They are the crusts pizza lovers like me dream about. 2. The Sauce. So delicious! The Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes give your mouth that tangy and slightly sweet flavor everybody loves. All 3 slices were fantastic. I'll give the Lucia my nod as the best and that's the one I'd strongly recommend you try. But again, let me say, you will enjoy all of the pizza here. Frankie's is a little off the beaten path in east Nashville but well worth seeking out. I have only tried the pizzeria but it is top tier. Serving up whole pies and slices it has skyrocketed up my list of best pizza in Nashville. The under the radar show stopped here though is the Sicilian pizza. Five stars off the food alone. I've never had gnocchi like that before even after spending over a month in Italy. It just melts in your mouth it is so delicious. The caesar salad was incredible. I loved the way the cheese was shredded as opposed to the traditional largely grated chunks of Parmesan. They have an attached pizza place that has patio seating as well as the restaurant. Low lighting and candles at every table, would be a good spot for a date night. Full disclosure extensive 50+ year pizza lover. Formerly from the north now living in the south. As far as pizza goes this place is a 10. I don't say this lightly. I learned quickly what people see as "good pizza" here is a step away from toasted white bread and a can of hunts with supermarket brand mozzarella. The only thing I've found close was the former Joeys and Mannys. 2 brothers from Brooklyn who brought their A game to Nashville. They rated 9.7 and 9.8 respectively. They're no longer storefront but I believe Joey is still catering. My regards to the 2 Franks. If you want quality real pizza then they''re the real deal. I was literally shocked to see the place (pizzeria) empty at 1pm on a Tuesday. Nashvillians don't know 'Nuttin. Hmm...I hate to say that our experience was disappointing. We were excited to dine here on the recommendation of Chef Matty Matheson and man did it miss the mark for us. It started with a lackluster and confusing greeting by the hostess as it was implied that we should know that there are two separate dining locations if you want pizza or pasta- we chose the pasta. As one of only two patron groups in the restaurant it took us an exceptionally long time to get each of our courses. I appreciate and am patient for fresh preparation but even that timing didn't make sense. On top of the timing, our service was terrible. The server didn't check on us, ran out of water, waited forever to get our bread service that was pulled out of a box in front of us, and when I had to get up to ask others for help for water they seemed inconvenienced and when our server did come over to help us she said "what's up" instead of "how is the meal?" Or "how can I help you?". Overall, very unnecessarily pretentious attitudes for food that was not deserving of the attitudes or the wait (e.g. the lamb ragu lacked flavor and needed salt to aid). While Frankie's is a walk-up/counter based spot, they do have a few tables inside, but the patio is where it is at. They have string lights set up, a water station and several tables. While outside was cool, they could use some music or something out there. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the pizza! We grabbed a variety of slices including the classic pepperoni, the contentious ham and pineapple, and my favorite, a pepperoni Sicilian slice. And let's not forget about the Caesar salads - while premade, they were surprisingly delicious, and the dressing was undoubtedly the highlight. I will say $14 is a bit much, but not gonna lie, I will order it again. While the pies were phenomenal, what truly sets Frankie's apart is their exceptional service. Despite arriving within an hour of closing, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we left with full bellies. We made a reservation for 4 people for a Sunday brunch for 11am opening time. We arrived and were taken to spacious booth for our party. We were the only people there upon arrival so it was pleasant and quiet. The server Casey was very nice and answered all of our questions and provided recommendations to those of us who were undecided on entrées. Our table enjoyed the fresh mozzarella appetizer and stuffed mushrooms. The mozzarella was awesome and mushrooms were delicious however very small. My father in law ordered pastrami hash with scrambled eggs and housed it down without a sound upon one spoon full.
