Tasty sandwich (and more) spot! I've been here for both brunch and now they're open for dinner! I highly recommend the lox open-faced sandwich, that beet pickled salmon and fresh dill is so good. Had the turketta for dinner, pretty good! BF had the bahn me for brunch which sadly I don't think is on the menu anymore. And for dinner he had the Chicago sandwich -- spicy! Fresh chips, beer and wine. Oh, and the pastrami tots. They served the red wine chilled which is a big no-no in the wine world, but I'll still go back :) really nice place, and the service is over the top wonderful! Place is awesome! I went in today for a late lunch while working from home and it was as advertised on their Instagram(Moto_Deli). It was my first time there and the staff we're great. We've driven past several times and finally decided to try Moro Deli after a walk along the beach. We ordered the veggie sandwich (no onions) and the BLT (with extra crispy bacon and no mayo). I happened upon the Moto Deli Food Truck after stepping out of a meeting in Encinitas. It was parked in front of what will be their full restaurant this summer. I ordered the Moto Bahn and my friend ordered the Turketta. 5 or 6 people waiting in front of me and my food was ready in about 5 minutes... good start. Everything looked great and smelled even better. First bite did not disappoint, so delicious! The pork belly was nice and crispy, fresh baked bread, just enough kick from jalapeno paired with amazing pickled veggies and delicious moto spread. Halfway through second half of my sandwich, I added the spicy pickle on my sandwich and it was sooo good. My friend wanted to try mine and I said no, too good to share. So we both ordered another to go. The smoked turkey on Turketta was very good, again paired tons of great flavor. Moto chips were perfect on the side, crispy, with nice seasoning! So many things to like about this spot that I don't know where to start. I'd been hearing about the Ruben for weeks and since my hubby loves moto's and Rubens, OF COURSE, right? We ordered a Ruben and the Turketta and both were excellent but it's very hard to compete with their Ruben b/c its insanely good. It was served really warm on perfect bread with juicy stuff all up in there. I've never even HAD sauerkraut before but it was an amazing compliment to this mind-blowing sandwich. It's a sandwich that will haunt you. The ambiance in this little spot is very likeable and friendly with bearded hipsters all over the place. I like that kinda thing. Makes me feel young and hip. We waited 45 mins for a sandwich... along with a lot of other people... the sandwich was good but even if you offered a free sandwich if you waited 45 mins I would say no... they tried to offer guest free chips, but I can't even figure out why it could possible take 45 mins to make a cold San which most guest asked for a refund and walked out... This place makes epic sandwiches. I had the Cubano. The bread is grilled just right, crunchy enough to stay crisp to hold up to the ingredients, not overdone so you can't bite through it. The house made chips are excellent. Just a warning about the Habenero pickles, they are hot. Outstanding flavor but my companion said they are the spiciest thing she has ever eaten in her life. Even I thought they were hot, but loved them. They provide a yellow sauce called Eddie's Sauce at the table. It's spicy but delicious, goes great with the chips. Friendly staff at the counter who check in after you try your food to make sure it's to your liking. Great atmosphere and aesthetic. I wish they had beer to balance out the bold flavors of the food. Parking in the area can be a challenge sometimes but that's Leucadia. Will visit again to try some more of the menu out. read more

Best sandwich place on the planet. The Italian and the Turkey specials were both solid.....add the Eddie sauce and it isn't even fair! Only bad things I would say are the parking which sucks (given) and they may be a bit short staffed...old dishes from previous guests not cleared in timely manner, tables not being cleaned (I've self-bussed here on more than one occasion--table still sticky)....that kind of thing. I'd eat these sandwiches off a dog turd though, they're that good. read more
