After we ordered the wait for our food was ~45 minutes at a time that was not abnormally busy. When we asked for a turkey sandwich with cheese, bacon and sourdough we were told they cant make custom sandwiches. So we picked a sandwich on the menu that had turkey and substituted what we wanted to create the same sandwich we wanted and that was accepted. Lazy. We've been here before and the sandwiches are great but this blew it for us and many others who grew frustrated. read more

Some people in our group tonight at Iron Fist were curious to see how this review would turn out. So here goes. I paid Moto Deli for a sandwich. I left a tip. I got neither a sandwich nor service. About 15 minutes after placing my order I went outside to check up on it. Instead of a truck, there was a puddle of stinky water. Moral of the story: if you're ordering food from a roach coach, use a credit card. That way if they pull a disappearing act, you can at least do a chargeback, which slaps them with a hefty fee in addition to you getting refunded. I'd made sure they got my name. They said they'd bring me my sandwich. I don't know if it was general incompetence or their heavy promotion of it being 4/20, but they ran off with cash. F these guys. I hear they're opening a restaurant in Encinitas soon. No way you'll ever find me there, nor anybody who was waiting to read this. read more

I felt it was just A OK. I ordered the fish tacos and my friend ordered the beef on weck. She got a soda with it and it came to 25 dollars. Pretty pricey for a food truck but Ill go with it. Fish tacos were bomb! Much different then I have had before, the fish was grilled and it was all good. The beef on weck was not bad, she just didn't care for the pickle. What I truly appreciated is how they came in to serve us. I gave them three stars because the price is way too high for the menu. The menu has about five choices, and NONE of them have any descriptions so you have to go through the menu asking what each one was. I would rather hire one of the other catering companies with more options and less price next time. So A OK it is. read more

Cool place that I have been wanting to check out for a while. They had a good selection of beer on tap. I tried the hot chicken sandwich which did have some heat to it. Food was decent. the housemade potato chips were good and generous in portion; came with a dip that tasted similar to In n Out's animal-style sauce. the reuben was tasty; I enjoyed the buttered bun. The pickle packed a little bit of heat, which I liked. However, it's not $15 (after tax) tasty. Maybe if the sandwich was bigger in size, then that'd be a different story. I deduct one star (instead of two, to be nice) because of its price. I don't think the food warrants its price tag. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, it was not busy at all. My friend's friend owns this spot so I was able to try out the sammys before he opened this shop. I came here a few times and since then, their food has tasted even better. I ordered some type of french dip sammy and OMG was it delish! The broth was so flavorful and you can see chunks of the beef fat that was in the soup, which really gave it good flavor. The beef was tender and they had some sort of pepper in the sammy that had a nice mild kick. I was so happy to see that they had my favorite wine- Capposaldo Pinot Grigio on their menu. =). There is plenty of seating inside and outside. In case you are cold, they have heater lamps and blankets outside. There is parking on the side and back of the store, in case you can't find street parking. Staff was very friendly as well. Loved the vibe I felt at this spot. I will definitely be back. read more

What happened to Moto Deli? This is NOT the wonderful deli with the huge sandwiches we went to less than two years ago. Went there today, and ordered both Reuben (and) Yellow Fin Tuna sandwiches - neither of which they serve anymore. I substituted my Reuben with a Pastrami sammie, which was all bread, save for three slices of meat. My girlfriend's Albacore Tuna ssmmie was a little bigger, but not by much. It also looks like the place, which used to be so attractive on the inside, has bern un-renovated since new owners took over. The help wasn't very polite, either. As a result of all of the above, a place we used to rave about, we will no longer be going back to again. read more

I love the concept of this place being a big motorcycle rider/fan myself so i was pretty excited. At the end of the day i consider this a sandwich shop and get a little annoyed when the sandwiches start drifting north of 10 bucks at them. I decided to go with the Italian beef with a side of mac salad ( not very many places you can find an Italian beef round here) after talking to the staff (who was friendly) i realized that the make their own homemade chips so i changed the order to add the chips also (huge fan of homemade chips). When i got home I realized i never got the chips that i paid for and the Italian beef was no very good. i certainly will be giving them another shot to try a more traditional sandwich and their homemade chips and hopefully will up grade my review read more

I feel bad giving them 3 stars because it's definitely based on what I ordered alone which was the crispy chicken sandwich. To me it was over breaded dark meat chicken which is terribly unhealthy. I didn't care for the flavor of the spicy sauce and the slaw that it was topped with was spicy too instead of a nice sweet flavor to compliment the spicy chicken. It also had too little slaw to really be able to bring all the flavors together even if it was sweet. I did have a bite of my sons cubano and it tasted pretty good. I will give this place another shot but crack shack blows this chicken sandwich out of the water. read more

LOVED this food truck!!! They were at Brewventure @ Iron Fist Brewing last night and I didn't want to start drinking before I ate so I ordered the Fish Taco. Now this was like NO fish taco I have ever had in my life. It was made with Ground Opah (a type of fish) and had a nice flavor and a bit of spice. The ground Opah gave it a meat consistency because it was browned on all sides. Man was that good!!! So good in fact I had to have another!!! The people working the truck were cool as well. Great value here, and even better taste will keep me as a customer for a long time to come. Best sandwiches ever! On my somewhat rare visits to the area, this is my one "must stop to eat" place.

Stopped by here while we were making a day trip to Encinitas to scope out some photo shoot locations, and we absolutely LOVED it! Not only is the aesthetic of the place great, and the customer service exceptional, but the menu is where it's at. I had the Chimichurri Steak sandwich, and my boyfriend enjoyed the Moroccan Marinara. Both were exceptional with the flavor profiles and mix of textures! Each meal came with their house-made chips, which were so delicious we ordered extra to take home. Our favorite part was their d e l i c i o u s house-made agave + habanero sauce. This stuff has a kick, so proceed with caution, but the meld of mildly sweet agave + habanero was divine. Spoke with what seemed to be the manager/owner (or something of the like) about wanting to buy some of that to take home, too! I'd been wanting to check out Moto Deli ever since it opened and I'm so glad I did! Bordering Encinitas and Leucadia, this little sandwich spot is a must try. The Turketta with smoked turkey breast, avocado, arugula, bacon, aged white cheddar, moto spread, apricot mostarda (a fancy Italian fruit chutney) and squaw bread is absolutely amazing! The perfect size sandwich where you don't feel bad about eating it and are full after. It comes with homemade chips and a delicious spicy pickle. They have delicious lemonade which tastes great in an Arnold Palmer. They're still working on the craft beer permits as they didn't have any when I went. I also wish they stayed open later, closing at 3 is a little early when you're out and about during the day. Overall, cool spot with cool vibe. Check it out. read more
