I had to rate my helmet purchase experience. I've been here only a few times and each time I never purchased an item. Despite that fact, they went out of there way each time I visited and again today (May/2016) to answer all my questions. Worst online experience ever! I bought a darker shield for my helmet. The wrong item was shipped. They wouldn't send me a return label and I had to pay for shipping to send it back. Overall I paid $65 for the shield and shipping. I could only get store credit which was $28.95 or a refund, which would have been $18.95. Total ripoff! Terrible experience. I bought a helmet, tried it out on a short ride to see how it works in 'the real world' of riding. Bad experience. Tried to return, and was refused because I had taken the protective plastic film off the visor. since there was writing on the film, how did they expect me to try it out without removing the film, so I could see while riding?! now I'm stuck with a bad helmet. I was looking for a 2011 style year version of Fox 180 MX pants and found them here via Google Shopping. At an incredible price I have to add. My son broke the plastic belt clip and Fox doesn't sell replacements. So a new pair was needed if he wanted to match the jersey he liked. I hadn't ever heard of this store so after browsing the site and thinking everything looked ok, I gave the store a call. Spoke to Tim if I recall correctly. Very nice guy. Told me the pants I wanted were where they needed to be for quick shipment. I think he said they were in their warehouse/shipping location. I figured it was worth a shot, so I placed an order online. This was a Monday and I opted for an upgrade in shipping to 3-5 delivery. After processing the expected delivery date was Thursday of the same week. As it turned out, the mx pants arrived Thursday as promised. So I have to say it worked out great for me. Found a hard to find item at a really great price and it arrived sooner than expected. I'd have no problem ordering from Motorcycle Closeouts again. I didn't have to deal with a return, so i can't speak to that. But like I said, the person I spoke to was polite, helpful and made sure I got the information I needed. Felt like good customer service to me. I'm reviewing here because my search for reviews showed the most info here at Yelp. I have to register at Yelp now, but whatever. Pathetic. Good reviews from owners and family I guess...Holly must be an heir. Ordered 5 year old Olympia Airglide jackets in hopes they were acceptable. A week later, no notification of shipment. Emailed them inquiring about my paid order and in 30 minutes, WOW, somebody went off smoke break and put something in mail and sent a tracking number. Now, sitting on edge of my seat to see what they ship to me. Hoping to get what I ordered so they don't charge the restocking fee I see in other reviews. I learned a very expensive ($85) lesson buying a couple of items from Motorcycle Closeouts. This company seems apparently to have discovered that there might be more money made getting restocking fees than anything else. I bought an Olympia one piece riding suit that turned out to be too small. I was afraid that the proper size wouldn't still be stock by the time that the original suit was returned and credited to my account so I asked the person I spoke to there if he would send me out the suit in the proper size if I again paid with a credit card. I asked if he could then give me a credit for the returned suit back to my credit card. This is a practice that I had used numerous time before at more responsible places like Competition Accessories, Revzilla etc for scarce items without any problems. Much to my surprise he refused to do this and told me if I ordered another suit before the original ( too small) suit was returned to him, I would still have to pay the restocking fee regardless of having already purchased the second suit. I couldn't figure out the reason for this refusal other than the fact that he simply wanted the restocking fee. At this point I became nervous because I suddenly realized if I returned the suit and the larger size was no longer in stock by the time they had received it I might end up with a nonrefundable store credit which is for some petty reason is only good for one year after it was issued, upon which it became worthless. ( I wonder if this company reports this bonanza of expired credits to the IRS as profit?) At this point I became very nervous about the ethics of this company I decided to bite the bullet and ask for a cash refund minus the restocking fee. As the old saying goes: A bird in the hand (cash) is better than a bird (credit) in the bush. I was also afraid what would happen if this company (deservedly) went bust. The reason that I ended up losing $85 in total (the suit plus a separate purchase of a pair of riding pants) was a combination of the10% restocking fee for the two items (approximately $45) plus the expense( $40) for sending the two items back through UPS as an individual rather than as a business. (Motorcycle Closeouts make it onerous to send item back through cheaper the US Postal Service.) Motorcycle Closeouts is different from its competition because of: 1) the restocking fee which no other company in my experience seems to have and 2) the fact that other companies either will either send you prepaid UPS return shipping label which they will simply only charge you for their commercial rate (less than half of the the rate that an individual has to pay) or even even might send you the prepaid shipping label for free. After my problems with this company I also discovered that it has a lot of petty (and greedy) additional fees (for changing an existing order for instance) which I have never seen before. I also found that it has had some complaints (at least six) lodged against it through the Better business Bureau for its practices. Apparently these people felt compelled to file complaints through the BBB because of not getting satisfaction out of the company itself. Only after contacting BBB were their problems resolved. I unfortunately purchased items from them online and far exceeded their free shipping quota. I am now 8 days into this transaction and they have not shipped it. I went online to check the status and it says in some cases they have to transfer items in from other warehouses in order to cut down on shipping costs for them. As a business owner myself I decided to call and ask that once they get it in stock if I could pay to have it expedited as we have a race in 5 days. Not only did they not pick up the phone, but left 2 messages without a return call. So I decided to email their help desk. The first response was "rest assured you will get your items within the 5-10 business days"! Well 2 weeks for free shipping is a bit ludicrous and I would have paid for expedited shipping had I known that it would take at least 2 weeks to get the gear. The second response I got was that even though it has been 8 days, he wanted to make sure I knew it had only been 5 business days (and actually it has been 6) and that once they got it in house it would take 3-4 days to get here. Lets do the math... Been 6 business days, they still do not have the items in stock and then 3-4 days after that. So, no matter when they get it from today on, it will be late. Like I said I just wanted to pay for expedited shipping since they haven't even received it in their warehouse yet... Well he also let me know that "no changes can be made" to an order once it is placed. I have learned my lesson that it is not worth the $12 I saved on a $400 + purchase from this facility when I could get it from the nations largest online retailer in 2 days! read more

I bought some D30 Pads from them based on some pictures from their online store. The pads that arrived were different than the pics. I returned them still inside the packaging and they still charged me $10 for a restocking fee. I would understand this if I took them out of the package but this is not good business to charge me for a misrepresented product on your site. I will never buy from here again. read more

I bought a Fly rainsuit from the as a Xmas gift. It was sized 3xl. According to their sizing chart it would easily fit over 2xl clothes;made sense. However, the rainsuit actually fits like an xl- two sizes off the chart! Ridiculous! Unfortunately, I did not read their return policy before I purchased. Return authirization required-no money back-only store credit. Not only this neanderthal policy, but the customer gets to foot the bill for the shipping back to the store AND back to the customer again. Horrible customer service... just spent over 30.00 in shipping for a helmet that doesn't fit. I bought my normal size and even double check the sizing chart, still didn't fit. When I let customer service know this they offered to return it for me but would not refund the shipping or send a return shipping label. We i questioned why thet are charging me shipping for an incorrect sized helmet here only answer was. .the size chart is just a helpful tool. .so in other words they have no clue if it's correct nor do they care. Love my Icon 1000 El Baja Boots. I had to return a pair that did not fit and I was only given the option of Store Credit or take 10% less on the credit. No return labels so I will also have to pay for shipping AND they require Signature Required for an extra fee. Not a very intuitive online company. I could have bought the boots at several other stores online for the same price that had better return policies if I had checked better. I was super excited to have purchased and received my two new bluetooth helmets. Apon opening I found that my helmet was scuffed and damaged, I called and emailed them pictures as soon as possible just like they asked. They did not resond right away on Friday afternoon, and then they were closed for the weekend, so i had to wait, I even had to call them Monday morning, because they hadnt gotten back to me yet. They told me to go to the website and print out the RA form, but they're website was down for maintence all day, which made me extremely frustrated! My helmet has been sitting here's week now. I am incredibly pissed! Also the helmet was too big! According to their size chart my head is 22 1/4", over 22" is supposed to fit a size medium. I tried on my helmet, shook my head up and down and side to side just as the website shows, and it was too big. I need a size small. I kept trying to email and call them but no answer just yet, and the thing it is my helmet was one of the Temporary insanity deals, that were only available for the next 24hours. So they better be still available but the time the item is shipped and returned. I do not want store credit, I want my freaking helmet! Dont get me wrong the helmet is great, i just wish they would have sent me a brand new one, and the sizing is their fault, aswell... I am thinking about just keep the helmet because I should NOT have to pay for the returned shipping costs. This was not my fault what so ever. I normally don't have to resort to leaving negative information on an online company, as I can usually work out any issues with the company, but Motorcycle Closeouts is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. I do quite a bit of online shopping do to the fact that I can usually get exactly what I want at a lower price then retail. So, I have quite a bit of experience with interacting with online companies. As I mentioned above, this company is one of the worst I have ever interacted with. They have no idea what customer service consists of and their store policies are unethical. Motorcycle Closeouts should just state they have a no return policy instead of punishing the customer with unethical fees and charges. I can respect a company more if they are honest upfront with information. If Motorcycle Closeouts would just state they have a no return policy then I could have made an educated purchase from the Motorcycle Closeouts, knowing that if I bought the product I would be stuck with it. At least I would have something to show for the money I have this dishonest company. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere, even if you have to spend a little more, in the end I can guarantee you will be much happier with your buying experience. So, I purchased a helmet from their online site motorcyclecloseouts.com. I accidentally ordered a XL as opposed to a L in a Joe Rocket helmet. I called to get a return # and I reordered an ICON helmet that cost $200 prior to returning the helmet. The ICON helmet costs $40 more than the previously purchased Joe Rocket helmet. Motorcycle Closeouts does not issue UPS RS labels. The buyer has to pay for return shipping which cost me $16.16 for a 7lb box! Then on top of that, I was told by the salesperson that I would be charged a restocking fee. Today, I called again and asked if they would wave the fee since I ordered a replacement helmet last week and had to pay shipping to return the Joe Rocket helmet. The individual that answered the phone was rather rude. I explained to him that I did not want to wait two weeks for a store credit because I needed a helmet as soon as possible and their shipping from MO is slow. Nonetheless, I got no where with them. Most online merchants at least give you a UPS return shipment label for FREE return shipping. Now I am going to be out almost $35 and I have nothing to show for it, but a conversation with a rude salesperson! I told him that I would NEVER do business with them again. I don't have $35 to give away! To charge a customer return shipping and a restocking fee is a bit much especially in this economy. It is as if they punish their customers for having a return!
