First off I want to say that Motor works has great beers and ales. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Their food comes from food trucks, which is a novel idea. On 2/16/18, a night I was at Motorworks I ordered a chicken sandwich that was so bad it was truly inedible. Really. So bad I couldn't eat it. It was breaded in cornmeal so tough I couldn't bite through it. I cracked it away from the chicken breast and the meat was all dried out. The bun was a disgusting soggy mess, the tomato and onion had been sliced hours earlier and the fries were tepid. It's the first time in years I returned food. My table of friends ordered pizza so I had some of theirs. It was edible but the crust was a pre-made disc. Definitely the most questionable food at a bar restaurant I have ever had. I will try it again since the food trucks change out and you can get great stuff but never again would I eat anything from these guys. read more

Stopped by here after a round of golf and was very pleased with the unique beer offerings. I really enjoyed the Kumquat Hefe - it sounds super strange, but the subtle fruit flavor was a fun surprise. I also really enjoyed the lavender ale, the nose is full on flower which, again, sounds weird, but totally works! I finished out my flight with their triple and mead - all winners. We ordered some snacks to wash the beer down with - moz sticks and garlic knots. The garlic knots are really popular for some reason, they need more seasoning for the amount of bread per knot, IMO. so the food was meh, but the beer is a must! read more

Went here for the first time with 5 other people. Ordered food but it never came, even though everyone in our party received their order sporadically. After tracking down the waitress, who by the way was ghost, she said "sorry we're so busy, your food should be coming soon". By the way, I ordered a salad and my husband ordered burger sliders, not difficult. Lo and behold, our food came an hour and a half later in a to go bag. I sent her away and didn't take the food. My wife and I came across motorworks brewing and decided it looked like a fun place to hold our wedding reception for all of our family and guests. We worked with Mariah to reserve the space and details for our event. We ended up having an amazing time with all of our closest family and friends with the amazing help of our waitress Sheila. She was extremely kind and helpful and seemed to have a handle on all of our guests. 1st off I want to give higher star rating MotorWorks itself is a really cool setup, with cool staff but the food I ordered was 50/50 1 part of my order tasted good but the Chicken Parm Sandwich was burnt n how their outsource kitchen stuffed/jammed the sandwich made me wonder if I would even try it... The waitress was polite n thankful when I noticed she forgot to add the sandwich to my bill, in a way now wish I didn't catch her mistake... As a true local, it's often difficult to find your favorite spots to frequent where the staff knows you by name and it feels like home. Monday nights with Kinsey during trivia have given me that with my family, and it's something in the midst of a pandemic you truly cherish. Many days are unpredictable, stressful and a once less desired day of the week soon became our favorite. I have had many friends, family and those visiting come attend trivia with me during their time in town, and every time they have the same response, "I wish I could find a trivia like this where I live", gratitude for our Monday evenings with Kinsey at trivia is something it's hard to articulate but you really have to experience it for yourself. Great fun place. Many beers flavors to choose from free popcorn as well. Live music on Fridays weekends outside bar area as well. Cornhole boards and plenty of tables and chairs. Tent and covered areas in the event of rain. Everytime I have visited I have had a great time with family & friends. Free parking as well. I have been there twice. The first time the Schnitzel Truck was there and their food was excellent; however, the service blew. The second time I was there was the Stuff Truck and the food was lousy and the service blew. Be aware, dogs frequent this place. If you are not a dog lover or you have a problem with the occasional person who doesn't seem to get that you may not love their dog as much as though do, stay away. Also, cigar smoking is pretty much the thing outside and the smoke is horrible, but then again, if you are cigar smoker have at it. So food is spotty, the service is lousy but if you want to go to a unique place for dogs and cigars, this might be the best place in town. Oh, the beers are pretty good. read more

Came here last year and really enjoyed the atmosphere and band. Hoped for the same tonight but was disappointed by the band, atmosphere, and dirty restrooms. Most of the servers were indifferent and didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Our server, Nicolas, was polite, seemed to be enjoying his work, and a great job for us. We went last night to Motorworks to enjoy a bite to eat along with some drinks and listen to good music. The music was the only good thing about the evening.The brews were not so good which is surprising from the last time we visited. I ordered a split of Prosecco from the menu which they did not have ,then tried to order a bottle of Austin Hope wine which was also was on the menu (They did not have that either). We were a party of 7 and we ordered food which only consist of pizza and chicken fingers and two sandwiches at 7:15pm. Well at 9:15 we still had no food and were told it would be another 45 minutes. When we spoke to manager all he could do is blame the vendor they get food from. We left at 9:30 without dinner.This brewery has really went down in the last few years. I hope they can improve their management and improve their customer service. Its a great venue to enjoy the beautiful weather we have here in Florida. read more

This was our 2nd time at Motorworks. The 1st time was 2 years ago. I guess we forgot about the food issue with this place. They do not have a kitchen and do not make their own food. If the food truck isn't there, don't stop! You are basically ordering take out from down the street, Roccos Pizza. It is a wanna be Italian restaurant! Nothing special at all. When we first walked in we were told by the waitress that the owner has not put a cap on reservations and they are and have been booked with reservations for weeks. I don't even think they answer the phone anymore. So she made sure to tell us that everything would take extra time. I saw one of the managers pulling banquet tables out and putting them in random spots so that people that didn't have reservations could try and enjoy the night. What really bothered us was one of the owners (the lady) would constantly seat people and move people (that she knew) and then pull the servers aside to let them know that her friends needed drinks right away. I got a strong vibe that the servers are not a fan of the owners, but they did put a smile on for their guests and did the best they could. It took over 2 hours for our food (which we totally know is not the servers fault) one person in our group didn't even get their food. It was a very chaotic atmosphere so please keep that in mind before you go. If you're going to a concert, eat before you go! I hope the owners find a way to make things better because it really looked like a fun place! read more

Made a couple of visits here and the last one will be our last as we were given a hard time about refilling a growler we had purchased at the brewery on a previous occasion. I want to love Motorworks because the beer garden is amazing, you can't beat it, but time and time again we are so disappointed. The service is really lousy, every time we visit, the bartenders and servers are in a rush and have zero personality. As for the beer, there are so many better options. We love craft beer and visiting new breweries and haven't been impressed with anything Motorworks puts out. read more

Very cool spot in Brandenton. Inside area is huge and has an industrial look. Large bar area. Outside area is where it's at though! Nice wide open space with plenty of seating and areas to play (cornhole and bocce ball I believe). Family friendly and dog friendly! There were lots of kids there the Sunday early night we went. Vibe was laid back and relaxed. They serve craft beer on tap, bottled beer, wine and also have a full liquor bar. Pretty impressive! Menu also includes the offerings of the food trucks that park there so you can order from your server for whatever food truck is there that day. I had their hibiscus saison- floral and fruity, it was nice. Oh- and they give you free popcorn as a snack. Goes good with beer and keeps you drinking- smart! Motorworks seems to host plenty of regular events here for everyone such as yappy hour, paint nites, and I noticed a movie screen outside. Service was friendly and fast for how large our group was. Pros: Their beer is excellent and they have a good selection of guest beers. Cons: no kitchen. We went on a rainy day so the food truck wasn't there, instead we we're shown a photocopied menu from a local eatery. The food delivery came by car an hour later and the takeout was simply placed on our table; pizza still in the box, wings and mussels still in their aluminum pie pans,. My wife was asked if she needed utensils and was brought a plastic fork for the mussels and sauce. Friends asked for plates for their pizza and were given popcorn baskets since there were no plates. We had to put the pizza in its box on the floor since there was no room on the table. Wings and mussels were eaten from their home delivery aluminum plates. We paid the same price as if properly serves at the eatery! I complained and was told that no one else had ever complained! We had invited guests out with us, a total embarrassment! The beer was fine but a Jai Alai IPA would be a better choice and would not cost $6 (my friends WhiskeySmoke was $7). Simply put, this place is not ready for prime time. Go only if you want craft beer and are happy with popcorn. read more

Ok, so I won't claim to be a beer expert. However, I tried 5-6 of their house drafts. I can honestly say I enjoyed drinking 0. It seemed to me that they just throw whatever ingredients/flavors into a barrel and sell what ever the result. While the beer had tons of flavors, I did not once think to myself. DAMN, I need another one of these, in fact it became, "oh god, please tell there is something better." This beer is just bad. I will give them one star with confidence because the beer garden was spectacular. Plenty of sitting and activities that could easily take your mind off the bad beer. read more

Wow! That's the first thought that entered my mind after figuring out where the overflow parking was for Motorworks (it's directly across the street, and you definitely need it). This place is huge compared to most breweries and in addition to an entire row of 30 taps, most of which are their own brews, they have a full bar and there is food available from nearby restaurants and food trucks. Keep in mind that this is not food FROM Motorworks, so it might take a little longer to get and it's best to order right when you're starting to get hungry rather than after you are hungry. If the staff isn't too slammed they will usually explain this to you though. Our bartender Jake was a pleasure to talk to when he had a moment to breath among all the orders he was filling. The flights are perfectly priced at $2 per and you can get 4-6 glasses depending on how much sampling you want to do. Motorworks has a lot of unique flavors in the very saturated beer market that Florida has become, so it was enjoyable to try some new ones like kumquat and lavender, both of which are wonderful. But they still keep a little of something for everyone including kolsches different varieties of hops and heavier coffee porters. I've seen from their site and driving by that their beer garden is huge, but after visiting twice I still have yet to see it. I'm sure based on the descriptions it's really great though, and they host a lot of interesting sounding events like dog and movie nights. Definitely a place you need to check out if you're brewery hopping around Florida, or if you live in Sarasota/Bradenton. read more
