Surprised a place like this was in Bradenton. Good beer, although pretty pricey. The patio is what gives it the four stars instead of three. Very very spacious, has a big, cool tree in the middle which offers plenty of shade, and a projected screen showing up huge on the side of the building. Like I said, the beer was tasty, but definitely overpriced. Service was only average and I didn't try the food (which was also pricey) so I can't comment on that. But it's a pretty cool place and I'd certainly go back if I'm ever in Bradenton again. read more

LOVE hanging here on the weekend -- live music in the beer garden under a beautiful over 100 year old tree, refreshing breeze, dogs a welcome, a variety of food options if you arrive early enough as different food carts serve on different evenings and most of the time there are two choices. The band left a lot to be desired with their sad Green day covers. It would have been nice to hear a good local band with original music. Nice environment although our ordered food has not showed itself after two plus hours of waiting. There's a limit for how long it can take.

Their in house brews were good and the staff were very friendly. I especially enjoyed the Red Ale. My dad and I showed up to the bar a little hungry, and the food was really disappointing. I ordered a special dish, pulled pork over rice and beans for $7. My father got essentially the same thing, but a different item on the menu, for $9. His plate was more than twice the size of mine. Huh? The pulled pork was decent, but it was served on cheapo disposable styrofoam dishes, so ghetto.. the rice was poorly cooked, and there was too much of it proportionate to the good stuff. Then there were the chicken wings, we ordered as an appetizer. They came out 15 minutes after we finished our main course, and were not carefully tossed. The sauce was good, the chicken wings were cooked well too, but less than half of the sauce made it onto the wings. It was really close to being a really good experience, i think they just need to up their game in the kitchen. I was attending a beer tasting event with yelp! We were given a tour by Eric of the brewing process and history of some of the beer. He is an artist with making the cans!!! After the tour, Barry talked about six different beers as we were served them to sample. Barry was extremely friendly making conversation walking around asking our thoughts on the beer after each one. I loved hearing the stories on the naming process! They allowed us to stay as long as we wanted after the event. I couldn't help but order some additional beers to try as I had so many tasty beers already! The lavender beer smells and taste amazing! I can't wait for the canning process to begin! I bought a six pack of the intellectual property ale to go ! The environment was so relaxing and care free. There are so many different things to do inside and outside. They have different events daily. Every time a staff member walked by they made sure to smile and check in on us. A lot of staff made small conversation and really made us feel welcome. Ben was extremely helpful by putting out six packs in the fridge to wait until we were ready to leave. It's a little bit of a drive but I will for sure be back!! read more

This place is virtually everything I would want and could imagine in a brewery. Some friends and I decided to venture down to Bradenton to check out a new brewery, and this is where we opted to go. Motorworks offers a wide variety of craft beer on tap, both their own creations and those of other breweries. It is a large space with lots of TVs, and a huge outdoor area to boot. Outside, they have a ton of games including corn hole, bocce ball (I think), and a little putting green. They also have a bunch of tables and chairs set up on the deck near the games and underneath a huge tree so people can enjoy the Florida sun while sipping on a cold one. I only deducted a star because they do not offer any food of their own. They do have food trucks (it sounds like they rotate trucks) and you can order food from said food truck off a menu at your table, but the food took a while to come and there was some initial confusion over which food truck was actually there that day. Other than that, this place is pretty stellar. read more

NEVER HAVE AN EVENT OR PARTY HERE. I was part of an event here and the entire time the owners treated us like second class citizens. I was sitting at the bar and ordering drinks and the owner literally came up and said "you are not allowed to be here. You need to be outside". Our entire party was "not allowed inside". I came here after a baseball game. It was just a few blocks from the Lecom Park Stadium. It is definitely for the sports-minded. There are 5 television viable from the bar and one huge screen in the corner. I think it doubles as a stage given the time of day...The service started off a little rough but got better. I assume it was because of the business after a baseball game and possibly newness of staff? The person I would assume is the manager, discreetly let a bartender know there were customers on the other end of the bar (where I sat). Before she mentioned it to the bartender, they were only servicing one side of the bar. One of the bartenders took my order after a 10 minute wait but was very attentive afterwards. I just think the staff needs a little more experience and they will be top notch. read more

We'd been hiking at Little Manatee River State Park, and hiking is a thirsty business, so we stopped by Motorworks for some refreshment before braving the Friday afternoon rush-hour traffic back to Clearwater. My Garmin GPS took us right to the location, but finding a parking spot WAS a concern. More about that later. The brewery has both an inside tap room, and an enormous beer garden, the largest I've been to, and I've been to a lot! The brewery itself is located in a historic building that was formerly a car dealership. It was a nice day, so we sat outside. A server soon greeted us, took our orders for beer, and explained how their "food service" works. They have several food trucks that park outside on a rotating basis.The server will tell you which trucks are on-site today, and leave a "food truck menu" to view. We're IPA fans, so we got a flight of their three IPA's, and an Imperial Brown Ale. I liked and got a pint of their "Pulp Friction" grapefruit IPA, but my wife preferred the brown ale, and got a snifter of that. We decided we were hungry, and ordered from the "Chefs 2U" food truck. The server will take your order, take it to the food truck, and bring it to your table so you don't have to chase it down. I ordered a "Cuban Dog" (Hot dog, mojo pork, swiss cheese, pickles, delicious) and my wife ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich, also delicious) After a flight and a pint we were suitably refreshed to brave the Friday rush-hour traffic back to Clearwater and miraculously survived! The only complaint I had was parking. We arrived about mid-afternoon Friday, and both Motorworks parking lots were absolutely full. Street parking to the west of the brewery is difficult ("no parking" signs everywhere) and to the east of the brewery was in a sketchy neighborhood. We finally found a parking space on the street that didn't appear to have a "no parking" sign, and walked a couple blocks to the brewery, expecting it to be jammed, but there were perhaps 50 people there! I asked the server about that, and was told that many of the cars belonged to baseball fans going to the ball game two blocks away. You may wish to see if there's a ball game before you visit the brewery. Fortunately, our car was still there, but considering the "tow 'em all" attitudes of some towing companies, I was concerned, and this negatively impacted my experience. read more

The catering from Rocco's was also a huge hit!! We had the best time and will definitely be utilizing Motorworks Brewing for events in the future. We loved this place! Came on Christmas Day- just needed to get out of the house to relax a bit, and this place totally hit the spot. The beer was delicious with a good variety, the service was great (super nice waiter - part of the "Not Celebrating Xmas" crew that got to work on the holiday- holla) the food was respectable bar food from the truck (very much appreciated the full service despite the food truck setup!) but the atmosphere takes the cake!! Huge space, beautiful huge trees canopying the outdoor area draped in lights, tons of games spread throughout from cornhole to Jenga to giant tic tac toe, and two stages set up for live music performances. And for dog lovers like my husband and myself, allowing furry friends in just made it that much warmer and better of a place. We placed a large order of cans and a keg for our wedding, and the staff were extremely helpful in getting us squared away. This place was awesome! Some friends recommended it after a day of shopping at Ellenton Outlets, so we took the short trip over (maybe 10 minutes?), and I'm so glad we did! The bar itself is neat with a nice size inside area and a huge list of their own beers. I tried both their red ale and their pumpkin beer. The red ale was good, and I thought their pumpkin beer was AMAZING. It tasted exactly like pumpkin pie and was super cool and refreshing on a hot Florida day. If their beer wasn't good (which it definitely was), I would still probably come again just for their outside area. They have a great beer garden, filled with about 10 cornhole games, a bocee ball court, and lots of seating under this beautiful tree. It would definitely be a great place to spend an afternoon, especially when it gets a bit cooler. Worth a try and even worth the drive from Tampa if you want to spend some time outdoors! read more

I went there on a Friday night and I have to say I'm not the biggest fan. My roommates rave about the place so maybe my expectations were just too high. To start off with there is no parking anywhere except a tiny lot across the street so you are basically forced to pay for their valet and the valet person made us park our own car and get our own car when we were leaving without ever even greeting us except to tell us tips were allowed. We sat in the outside area. I guess on some Fridays they have a little craft show or something. That was actually kinda cool but then once the music started it was so loud it was impossible to talk to the people sitting at the table with you. I understand live music is going to be loud but they had all the speakers turned up way too much. Honestly if they had been set correctly the band would have sounded much better. The drinks were great but pricey (which is to be expected at a venue like this). The food isn't even cooked in house and is super expensive! Also the crowd wasn't very pleasing either. We got there around 8pm and there were already people falling down drunk. I realize this happens but you would think a place that allows children and is having a craft show would try to keep people under control. After all it is their job to cut people off when they need to be and they can be held responsible if someone leaves intoxicated and hurts themselves or others. I was really hoping to enjoy this place but unfortunately I don't think I will be returning. read more

Tons of beer on tap, food trucks, great music, friendly staff, coolest back yard EVER? Yeah this place is a winner. I spent 3 months in Bradenton and couldn't get here enough. Outside of great beer and a great selection of it, this is probably the coolest back yard I've ever seen. They could be serving nothing but PBR and I'd still show up. They've got the big TV's, they've got all the bar games you need, cornhole, darts, bocci, etc... I really love the playlist that's a great mix of alternative and nostalgic stuff from the past. I unfortunately never made it for live music, which I hear happens often, but you can't really go wrong with that... Great place! Keep it up! read more

I recently hosted a graduation celebration for my sister at Motorworks. The event team was very helpful and everything went smoothly ! I changed my mind a few times and they updated my quote right away. I enjoyed all the different beer selections, its great to see an east coast brewery trying so many interesting styles! I live in San Diego attending the craft brewing program at UCSD so I see a lot of amazing craft beer and motorworks is doing an awesome job. I especially loved the kumquat wheat and the sour IPA. The outdoor area is awesome and would be great in the fall as the weather cools off. I also appreciate that they have cocktails and wine available (I had some attendees that were gluten free) Our server (Brynn) was very helpful- I had quite a few requests (including moving the entire party inside) and she helped us out !
