Really 4 1/2 stars. The first thing you notice is that it's a pretty crappy (I could use another word but that's only good on the Pat MacAfee show) shopping center/Strip mall. However that all changes when you go inside. Very nice place. Open with comfortable seating. Nice deco. Very French! Nice people working there and they're very fast. We got Cappuccino and a Latte with Oat-milk. Both coffees were very good and hot. Got a couple of croissants that were warm and flaky and buttery. Good place and I'd highly recommend it.

Located in Venice's Bird Bay Plaza, Moulin Blanc offers plenty of free parking. The café features a wide open floor plan with bright and clean decor that gives off a French vibe. There are a few outdoor tables with shaded seating, and they even provide a dog bowl for your furry friends. I ordered an Americano coffee, and the barista informed me that their beans come from Naples, Italy, and are a high-end medium roast. I detected notes of chocolate and caramel in my coffee--it was a delicious drink. While I didn't try their baked goods this time, I learned that they import the prepared dough from France and bake it locally. This means you can enjoy fresh French bakery items right out of the oven in Venice, Florida. It's great to discover a new local coffee shop, and I look forward to returning. Salute!

Moulin Blanc Café in Bird Bay Plaza, Venice, FL, is a delightful new spot offering a taste of France with their exquisite pastries and sandwiches. My boyfriend and I had a very enjoyable experience there. I enjoyed Le G.O.A.T., a delectable combination of goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula, tomatoes, and avocado on a fresh croissant, paired with a side salad. The croissant was incredibly good, buttery, and flaky and the prosciutto was on point. My boyfriend had Le Salmon, featuring smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese, dill, capers, arugula, and a dash of lemon juice on a fresh croissant, accompanied by fresh fruit. It was equally delicious. For drinks, I had the Cirque, a refreshing blend of mango, passion fruit, and citrus, while my boyfriend had the French Kiss, which combines passion fruit with hints of rose and lemon. Though I didn't try his, mine was absolutely delightful. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we shared a pastry--a twisty delight filled with cream and chocolate chips. It was wonderfully delicate and delicious. The staff at Moulin Blanc Café were friendly, polite, and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Moulin Blanc Café was very good, and we will definitely be back to try more of their fare. There's just a little something missing--je ne sais quoi--that could make it truly exceptional.

Went to the slow French café for breakfast today thinking that they had crêpes because if you look at yelp on their menu, they say crêpes, but when I inquired as to why they said crêpes and didn't have them, the young lady told me they were a type of cookie that they used to have that they don't have anymore Well, strange, but I ordered a salmon sandwich which they served not on a bagel, but on French bread, which was just OK there wasn't much salmon on. It was mostly bread. Then I ordered a coffee eclair which I had with my coffee and it was delicious and then the young lady who owns the Restaurant told me that their stuff was baked in France flowing in and then they re-baked it we'll go back just for sweets and coffee. They had a lot of delicious looking sweets.

    Best veggie quiche ever.

You can find something on this menu that you're going to love. Bread is fresh and so are the deli meats and all the toppings from green pepper to banana peppers to lettuce, tomato and spicy oil and vinegar dressing you'll put together a perfect sandwich. We had two different ones the Italian with the hot capicola, which was perfectly spicy and loaded with meats. The second sandwich was a ham, cheese and salami with lettuce, banana peppers, tomato, onion, all the fixings and that hit the spot too. We had two 8 inch subs and nothing was left. We also had chips on the side And that added to making the sandwich a perfect lunch combo. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because parking is extremely limited and in the back. If you don't know this deli, you wouldn't know where parking is but if you drive around the back, you'll see a very small parking lot and an entry into the deli. Staff is friendly and super helpful if you're not sure what to get. The place was crowded at lunchtime on a weekday with plenty of regulars, they know a good thing when they taste it. I'm looking forward to coming back into town to try something different since the menu was so vast it just means I have to come back again and again.

In Season, Saturday, March 21, 2026 - Two for take out lunch for the beach…read more My wife has been bragging about these folks for months so we thought to stop in and see how they are for a few sandwiches?! VERY GOOD is the short answer! My wife got the Polo Toscano - grilled chicken on an awesome sourdough bread that I believe comes in from New Jersey? She decided to take a little bite in their roomy parking lot!!!! AND the result was we did not make it over KMI/Hatchett Creek Bridge heading to Nokomis Beach..... I got the "stump"/end of the bread with a little bit of chicken / cheese etc. So will have to go by her assessment. 9/10 I got the Lukie - portabella, asparagus, zucchini, roasted red pepper cheese (provolone and they let me try a piece before they made the sandwich!!! WOW that is no Dietz & Watson or Publix brand cheese - right out of the Italian market in NY or Philly!!) They put balsamic and oil on and the veggies were sauté etc. And there in was the only issue. Flavor and ALL ingredients were great....... but the sourdough bread was a soggy sponge by the time I cracked it open on the beach about 30 minutes later. The vinegar, the liquids from the sauté, the oils and etc. I WILL be going back for this exact thing next time, BUT will get it "dry" or dressing on the side. I picked it apart and threw well over 1/2 the roll in the trash. 5/10 Really good first visit for me and EASY PEASY fix so check back on my update...... OR go there yourself and find out how great they are! I spoke to a few friends and the overwhelming feedback was very good food and selection....but prices are a bit high for a deli/takeout.

Actually our very first time here we couldn't get a seat because it it that popular. I love their chicken and dumpling soup. This is THE definition of comfort for to me. It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

I couldn't resist the offer of lightly battered fried chicken livers AND a two piece fried chicken platter w two sides. The livers were very good- right out of the fryer and not heavily battered. I don't know why but it was served with a side of mild buffalo sauce. You could also dab it in some of their homemade BBQ sauces. The dark meat fried chicken was also very good- lightly battered and right out of the fryer. I chose collards and mashed potatoes w gravy. The greens were tender and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were also good. The sides and a square of sweet cornbread rounded out the southern comfort food platter. Beer and wine is served along with sweet teas and soda. The servers were friendly but were slammed going table to table. I thought about a slice of the frozen peanut butter pie to go but bailed on it. My meal was very good.
