It was a long drive for me. I had to use my GPS to find it and I cannot tell you how many Mexican restaurants I passed to get there. The parking lot was packed when I arrived, but lucky for me as I entered a booth was opening up and I was seated immediately. A visit to a Mexican restaurant is not complete without a Margarita. I just ordered a regular on the rocks with no salt. The salsa that came with the chips was delicious. I also couldn't resist adding, orders of cheese dip and guacamole, too. When I eat Mexican alone, I can double dip and I love that. Dipping in cheese dip and then salsa or guacamole is messy, but acceptable when dining alone. My entree was a, Chicken Quesadilla. It came with Refried Beans and Mexican Rice. It was only cut in half, so I had to cut again to get manageable pieces to eat. The tortilla was crispy, which I like and the stuffings made for a flavorful quesadilla. The service was attentive and friendly. As stated earlier, it was a drive for me and I'll tell you it is a drive I will make again. It was totally worth it.

They also have excellent queso dip so anything that you eat with queso dip is delicious. They also have enormous cups for soda, which I appreciate. I have been to many other Mexican restaurants and tried their fajita quesadilla and none were as good as Tienda's

This spot doesn't mess around, it's seafood or nothing, and my ocean loving heart was thrilled. I ordered the seafood tower, which had every species in the sea, clams, octopus, scallops, shrimp, you name it. It even came with a side of entertainment when the whole thing collapsed in. Sad but inevitable. If you love seafood, this is a must. Wonderful smiling service and a great vibe! #stlouispescatarianapproved

this is one of the best meals I've had in years, definitely in 2026. It's rare that I want to…read morefinish all my food in one sitting because it's so good. I don't know where to begin. I was at the Cahokia mounds and I used Yelp to find a nearby place to eat because I wanted to try something local and off the beaten path. This place is only a mile and a half from the mounds a straight shot down the road, and it looks like an old seafood shack you'd see in a tourist village on the coast. I'm from Florida and I felt right at home like the whole tin roof thing. You go in and you immediately see all the family members hanging out complete with a kid coloring and there's a cash register in the front and then you go to the back and there's a cute little bar and you get a laminated menu that's mostly in Spanish but they have everything broken down in English for us gringos. They have seafood cocktails which is basically cold seafood cooked in lime juice kind of like ceviche and then they have fried platters as well. They also have paella. It was almost impossible to decide. I ended up getting the stuffed pineapple, stuffed with octopus imitation crab meat shrimp and prawns and topped with avocado and of course mixed with a wonderful lime and cilantro and tomato base. The presentation was gorgeous. Included as the photo and the condiments served at the beginning of the meal were also excellent. She gave me a small cup of Caldo... I don't know the proper name for this type of soup but it's a tomato based soup with prawns in it and it was so good I ate it right up and she offered me another cup and ice said yes and this one had what looked like a little piece of yucca in it and I was just absolutely delighted to have something so authentic and perfect here in Collinsville Illinois of all places. And the prices! The stuffed piña was 32 or $36 and piled high with seafood. In a major American city or where I'm from in Florida a plate like this would set you back over $100 easy. The service was impeccable, the waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive. The bill with two coronas came to $53. And they also have these big family packs of seafood also that can feed up to 8 to 12 people. It would be a great place to have a party or event. I definitely want to go back because there are lots of things on the menu I want to try. Great place to take a date as well. You could split one of those $30 plates and still get full. More money for booze! I wonder if they have clamatos there . . . Seems like the kind of place that would make you want if you asked. This place is a gem. Highly recommend if you are a seafood lover.
