There was a steady supply of customers and the seating was full however the tables turned over decently fast and there is outdoor seating as well. We each tried different drinks and overall they were good. My banana latte lacked any banana flavor but the coffee itself was great. The cornbread scone was something our group agreed we would skip (too crumbly and dry) but the cookies were nice. Overall glad we stopped to try it. We would come again.

The breakfast potatoes were SO good and the tartar sauce was honestly some of the best I've had. At $25 for the Monte Cristo, I expected the sandwich to be better, and I probably wouldn't order it again at that price. There were definitely some highlights, but overall it was a bit of a mixed bag.

A renowned eatery eluded me, but the spirit of the land guided me to Mount Bakery Cafe. Its facade held tales untold, and an inviting aroma promised mysteries unveiled. There, the Original Benny beckoned -- Eggs Benedict on a waffle. A culinary enigma, it seemed a blend of the rugged and the ethereal. As quickly as the coastal mists appear, the dish was before me. Each bite was a journey through time and lore. So entranced was I, that I forgot the world and even my companion beside me. With a hint of salt and pepper, I tasted the land and sea, but like a mirage, the dish vanished swiftly. We were happy to see that tables and chairs are available inside the building's lobby courtyard, complete with fountain feature. We took our spots and explored the historic building, climbing several floors of stairs and noticing the businesses housed within until our food/beverages were ready. What I ordered: The Croissant ($13) and The Griller ($13), as well as a sundried tomato, pesto gallette were our food orders. A dark chocolate mocha, an Americano, and two steamed milks with caramel sauce for dessert beverages. What I loved: The mocha, while way to hot to sip for quite some time, had a lovely, deep, dark flavor, not too sweet and well-balanced. The sandwiches were yummy, including herby scrambled eggs and flavorful, smoky ham. If only the croissant wasn't burnt to a blackened crisp, I think the sandwiches would have been amazingly wonderful, creamy, dreamy.
