Lots of seating options and we opted for the comfy little couch and chair in the back corner, which was great to just have coffee, a quick sandwich, and chat. There were several holiday specialty flavors to choose from and I went with the gingerbread spiced chai latte, and it was really good. My friend got the Good Tidings (think all the Thanksgiving flavors in one sandwich) special and I had serious jealousy over her food because I just got a simple breakfast sandwich and made the mistake of opting for sourdough instead of the amazing ciabatta it was supposed to come on. Everyone working there was so chill, the place was clean and bright, and super cute. Couple really cool things about this place: Christmas spirit & hospitality. There was they were doing a Christmas card drive for seniors in memory care/assisted living and had an assortment of blank cards and a pen for you to fill out while you drink your coffee and leave right there for them to deliver. Not only was the bathroom, super clean and spacious, but they also had a few essential items (especially for those mommies on the go) available in the bathroom that could just make someone's day if they were in need.

Based solely on customer care...I would not recommend if you like responses to your questions. I…read morehave reached out to the info email provided multiple times with no answer. My GPS took us to the wrong location at first (why does that happen?) but we made it to the right spot about 2 minutes later. We loved the outside appearance of the place. I would have liked to have had more time to look around, but we just had enough time for lunch. The shop had so many cute things to browse through. Maybe next time. The owner happened to greet us as we walked in so we received excellent service from all the employees. The menu isn't extensive, but so many things tasted delicious that it was hard to decide what we wanted to eat. We both decided to do the half soup/half sandwich route. My sister had the soup special that included spinach, sausage, and gnocchi (?) while I had the potato soup. The weather wasn't really cold, but it's starting to feel like fall so what's better than soup! The soup arrived hot and both were tasty. My sister went with "The Jerry", a pimento cheese on toast which she said was delicious. I had the "The Bacon Jammer" because I love bacon, carmelized onions, and bacon jam. It was OUTSTANDING. I will be dreaming about it for a while. We did not have dessert, but our service was fabulous and we both want to go back. Don't miss out on this local gem!

Sitting along busy Central Avenue, it's actually pretty easy to pass right by if you aren't looking for it. From the outside, it looks like what it is -- an old Augusta bungalow that found a second life as a neighborhood coffeehouse. Walk inside, though, and something happens. Everything slows down. The rooms are small. The furniture doesn't necessarily match. The chairs look like thousands of people have already found their favorite position in them. There's a porch, little tables tucked into different spaces, and none of it feels staged or designed to manufacture some trendy "coffeehouse aesthetic." In fact, I noticed something while sitting here: I don't see electrical outlets conveniently positioned at every table. I don't see a sea of laptops. Instead, I hear locals talking about doctor appointments, seeing the grandkids this weekend, and how ridiculously hot Augusta has been. People are simply here. I came in expecting to grab a coffee and leave. I have places to go and things to do today. But I sat down. Then I started looking around. Then I realized I didn't really want to leave. At some point they had probably been calling my drink for several minutes and I hadn't even noticed. And then I ordered a second coffee. That might be the best review I can give Buona Caffe. The coffee itself is absolutely on point. The staff knows what they're serving, makes thoughtful recommendations and genuinely seems to care about getting it right. But what makes this place special is everything surrounding the cup. It almost feels like they don't completely realize what they have here -- or maybe they do and simply have no desire to make it anything more than what it already is. As this part of Augusta continues to grow, with new homes and businesses coming into the area, I hope places like Buona Caffe remain exactly as they are. Sometimes you need a place between where you've been and wherever you have to go next. Somewhere neutral where you can sit down, let a little time pass, decompress and breathe before heading back out onto Central Avenue. Buona Caffe is that place.
