If you've ever experienced chronic back or neck pain you know it's a pain in the butt! And when you have a busy schedule you really don't have time to wait around and watch for emails, texts or worse pain pills. This facility works with a one, Dr. Chan who would not take my insurance and insisted that after a work related accident I was lying about my symptoms and should find something other than chiropractic care to ease my pain and was all but forcing me to start taking pain pills. Imagine my surprise when I found out this is the same man who is also a doctor at my fathers hospital in Martinez and has the SAME mentality. Long story short, I booked an appointment for a massage at massage envy to tide me over until I can get this situation smoothed over but this place is a TRIPLE 0 stars for me. I think he's really a pharmaceutical rep and not a chiropractor. And he really likes emails because he doesn't call or return calls. Don't go or do business here with this guy. It's incredibly refreshing to see an independent Integrative Medical Clinic with such a high caliber of devoted doctors and healers. In some ways this clinic surpasses even UCSF's Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Jain's Health Camp, in particular, is an excellent program...a great first step towards freeing oneself from chronic illness and forging a path to regaining abundant health. I asked Dr Lopresti (DO) to refill a prescription which I was already taking for smoking cessation. In the past my doctor would have just called this in - he insisted on making me go in - I'm sure he just wanted to bill for an appointment - and then wanted me to wait around for half an hour. I fired them as my doctor there and then. DOs are people who could not get into an md class and this practice is a waste of time - don't go there! read more

So here's the thing, the center is a money-centric center, not a wellness center. Go there for something and in order to get "cured" you will hsve to spend A LOT of money with all their different "specialist" like an "allergist" a "Physical Therapist" & lots of other stuff you just don't need. Even with an excellent insurance, a lot is not covered and I can truly say they don't care about your health (but they sure do care how much money you spend there). Example, after going to see Dr. Jain & getting a chest x-ray from because I was coughing really badly and finding it hard to breath, I had to leave 8 messages to get results, and instead of results - what did I get? A response of "you need to come in for a visit. (and also did you see all the other "therapists" who can help..." [well since Dr. Jain runs the entire center...and a % of every therapists earning, I see her motivation :) Sadly, her wellness center didn't help one bit. Super con artist!!! Went for an ear infection and ended up with $4000 worth of medical bills. I was charged for visits that did not happen, was charged for an extended visit for the 2 appointments I did have. We set an appointment for my husband before realizing than canceled that appointment and was charged and she never even saw him. I called the office several times to dispute with her and she never returned my call and then sent me to collections. I did not know doctors could get away with this. I did everything in my power to report her. I also wrote a more detailed review on yelp and somehow that disappeared. I am glad I decided to check again to update my review so nobody else has a horrible experience like I had. The ear infection actually never got treated. I was under the care of doctor Evan Scott collier and my care was a joke, not only is the office itself kinda strange a funky mix of hippie, wellness, and doctor office... I saw him a total of six times and ended up finding better care through a normal doctors office . I recently visited the center and was hoping the find an alternative way for treating patients, but I was very disappointed. I visited a D.O. (with the initials AL) for a physical then a follow up visit. On both visits the doctor was pushing me to go see a nutritionist who works out of the same center ( fine idea but not covered by insurance), but worse, he wanted me to sign up to buy High PH water ( called Kangen I think). I'm talking high pressure sales - asking me 3 times during the visit to try the water- and he then introduced me to the water salesperson. At the beginning I loved Dr. Jain and her staff. I loved the alternative medicine, the ambiance, etc. But after a while I realized it was becoming ridiculous. I was there at least once a week, doing all kind of things that cost me a fortune even if I had insurance; and for what. As soon as you get there, they'll make you go back over and over again. They will make you see every specialist they have in the center, take every class, buy all kind of supplements, .. .. What really set me off is when they told me that my insurance would cover for some of their services, and then later I ended up paying hundreds of $ instead. You go there for one thing and you find yourself doing all kind of unrelated things. Dr Jain acts as a business woman and not as a doctor, so unless you have time and money, and no serious medical issues, you should see another doctor. read more

I work in the Medical Field and am in hospitals, physician offices, etc. all day long. Simultaneously, I have had chronic health issues over the past ten years and have gone pretty much around the globe in search of getting answers. I can honestly tell you that this clinic has more heart, genuine caring, and has the best of intentions. It is truly holistic - thus there are many beautiful people who are all in one place working with you. Dr. Jain is one of the most sincere, knowledgeable, inspiring physicians I have ever met. I have excellent insurance, and am fortunate enough to have a good income currently and Dr. Jain was honest with me that I only needed a bit of tweeking (so to speak) but not much else. However, because this center is seriously the best that I have found in the Bay Area - I have booked a few appointments like the one I had with Rochelle. At first I was a little skeptical, but thought I would give it a try...AMAZING!!!! I felt totally cared for and the Acupuncture/Massage therapy I received was like nothing I have ever experienced. Rochelle's heart is truly nurturing. Stacy in the billing office is magical. I don't know how Stacy does it, but I have never seen any office that comes close to being as knowledgeable about insurance as MDI. Unfortunately we have been trained to address the symptoms and not the root cause of disease in the country and we are seeing the results of this way of medicine. It is an incredible relief to find a center that offers alternative treatments with the knowledge of an MD. Western medicine is quick to put a band aid on symptoms which doesn't heal in the long term. Their approach is not as quick acting but longer lasting. Practice seems bit too focused on the bottom line and up selling things not covered by even our generous health plan. Doctor saw both my husband and I for very different reasons (husband just needed vaccinations for travel), but prescription was very similar, take two ayurvedic massages and come back next week. I tried the massage, but was turned off by the fact that they charged an extra $20 for vatta scent added to oil, plus that they tried to sell me spice supplements during the massage. I booked through zocdoc, but a hint for good alternative as well as mainstream practitioners they are generally booked up and don't have tons of openings, unlike this office. Next time I'll go to the Osher center. read more

So greatful to have found Mt. Diable integrative wellness. Dr. Lopresti, Monika, and Marie (GP, BAMS, acupuncture) have been such an amazing team to work with. I recently lost my health insurance with kaiser and needed to find a new primary care physician asap as i am half way thru my pregnancy. I was very happy and suprised Dr. Lopresti was listed under contra costa health plan physicians, and after learning he was apart of a holistic clinic, I couldnt wait to come in and see him. First visit was great! Did a quick intake/ exam and immediately got a refferal to a obgyn, acupuncturist, holistic doctor, and a pain specialist. I take a natural apporach to my healthcare as much as possible and this was literally what the doctor ordered! I went in to see monika (BAMS) and shes been so helpful with everything from my injury, pregnancy, diet intake, suggestions on natual medicine, and also yoga and massage :) marie is literally the best acupuncturist ive ever seen. Shes also been so helpful with all my health concerns and I always leave feeling balanced and relaxed. I usually always dread seeing the doctor as im usually bombarded with more meds, vaccines, and barely any help. Not this office.. i feel respected and work WITH the doctors to address my health concerns and have the choice to approach it with natural or western medicine. This place is terrible. Decent doctors, but they constantly quoted me my copay only to find out they were wrong. So their response to their mistake was to bill me for their error. If you tell me my copay is $25, that's what I expect to pay. If you would have told me my copay was $50, I might have elected not go through with the service. I have been going to MDI for a little over a year and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jain and the other staff members. I had been suffering from a health condition for many years and was not able to find any relief from the treatments offered to me through Kaiser. There is some truth in all of the reviews posted here but like so much in life, truth is a matter of perspective. Is this the most smoothly sailing ship as far as clinics go? Perhaps not always - not by western standards. But that is far outweighed by the individuals, alternatives, and the life this clinic has given me. Diagnosed and living with cancer - a kind oncologists say to tough out as long as possible before chemo, I was determined to go the distance for the sake of my teenaged daughters. But with a WBC 20x normal, insurance refusing to pay for the new effective but expensive non-chemo option, and having enrolled in studies at two of the most respected traditional medical institutions on the west coast with no success, I was virtually out of options. Then something rather miraculous happened - I found my way to MDI. Even my caring and traditional (committed to western medicial protocol) oncologists admit that what I am doing at MDI I should keep doing. My WBC has dropped 65k (this is huge) and my lymph nodes no longer seem to be involved. It took an open mind, seeing more than one individual at MDI and understanding that there is a place for alternative therapies as a complement to western medicine. The doctors, vitamin C infusions, John Ortiz, and every member of the dedicated team have given me life, hope, and a new perspective. I saw Dr. Jain for a drug withdrawal plan. She comes across as very confident in her ability. I asked her if she knows about how to do this. She said yes she did. During my treatment plan, some of her treatments for this problem, even if you are weak from dehydration, have nausea, have diarrhea, she gives herbs that do not help. After 3 colon irrigation treatments, she then gives me a castor oil purgative which weakened me even further. After that I am sicker than ever. She then has me come into her back office so that she can "sing" in some language. Then asks me if that is helping. She then has this biofeedback program on her computer and after that asks is that helping my symptoms. Her staff and she then say to me that I have to "let go of my past and then I will be better." How can I be better with this treatment plan when I am going through a drug withdrawal? She tells me that her ex-husband loves money and she gives him all he wants. She tells me she is not afraid of anything. After this I am so weak I go to an ER for help with nausea and extensive diarrhea and dehydration. I decide then never to go back to her center. She then emails me and tells me I owe her more money which was paid already. Makes up some story about this. She seems to be more interested in getting her money than how I am feeling. read more

I have been a patient here for my wellness standard care for the last two years. I was expecting the routine care as I'd received from Kaiser for ten years, and opted to try MDIWC since it was on Aetna's provider list and literally a parking lot away from Kaiser. BOY WAS I PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. Dr. Jain embraces Mind, Body, Spirit approach to health. I still receive typical western medication quality care for the usual issues, routine tests, etc. but the spiritual approach to the whole body pushed me passed blocks and helped me embrace meditation, patience, proper breathing, and the attitude of gratitude. The meditation, pranic healing, and yoga classes I participated in helped me to stop emotional eating, get in touch with issues ignored which were impacting the way I veiwed my family, my self, and what I deserve (single mom who puts all first, but not myself). It was a beautiful process. I attribute the breakthroughs to opening my mind and participating in mediation, yoga, akaline vs. acidic eating habits Dr. Jain introduced me to, and Pranic Healing with John Ortiz.
