I spent this past weekend at Mount Snow with a large group and had a wonderful time for the most part. This was my first time on the slopes and the 2 hour lesson not only got me to a point where I felt comfortable in skis but I also think I awakened a new winter hobby. I had a blast learning the pizza and french fry method for beginners. Back to the resort... I stayed in one of the less expensive housing options and can fully appreciate the old adage you get what you pay for. The Snow Lake Lodge is in desperate need of an upgrade. The walls throughout these accommodations could use a fresh coat of paint, all carpets look as if they were in place since the eighties, and the rooms...forget it! DINGY is the most appropriate word I can muster. To add insult to injury the drain in the shower was very slow. By the time the fourth person showered, she was standing in a tub filled with dirty water. YUCK! Now my trip to Mount Snow was not all bad. Because I was with a large group, I was able to see some of the other housing options. Definitely pull out the extra bucks and rent a condo for your stay. I saw two or three single level and double level options and these were much better than The Lodge. I also enjoyed the various food options on the resort. There is literally something for everyone. I opted for lunch at 1900 Burger. The burgers were decent but the milkshakes are a must. Each is blended with delicious ice cream, various types of alcohol and topped with whipped cream! YUM. We drove to Mount Snow on Easter Sunday for a day trip. It took us about 2.5-3 hours each way- I was lucky to catch a snooze on the trip. Easter Sunday was fairly quiet and Mount Snow is spread out enough that there was minimal lines at the lifts away from the Main Base. The sun was out and the weather was mild. We had serious mashed potatoes by 3pm. Just about everyone we met on the lifts was from the NY metro area. We left our cooler in the car and booted up outside in the parking lot. The main lodge doesn't allow coolers and has a free bag check. If you don't check your bag and leave it, there's a sign that says they may check it for you. There's a large fireplace in the middle of the lodge which is nice. We brought tailgating chairs and ate lunch outside in the parking lot since it was a warm-ish day. I rode the bluebird express "bubble" and was amazed that it was so comfortable. It was like sitting on a couch to the summit (umm, head rest). We skied around all of the areas but must've made an error when we had no choice but to ski through Carinthia to get to the lift to get to the Sunbrook area. Carinthia looks awesome for people working on tricks and jumps but to ski through it was like an obstacle course. I don't mean the jumps, I mean the kids that are literally jumping everywhere. We skied the Bear Trap mogul run with music blasting from the lift. It was neat but totally deep cut and heavy traffic. Overall it was a lovely day. Mount Snow is a great intermediate mountain. The blacks are still pretty mild, as long as there's a bit of snow on 'em. I don't know how the lessons are, but the terrain looks perfect for learning. read more

I am not a big fan of Mount Snow. Firstly, it isn't terribly easy to get to from Boston. You can take the meandering Rt. 2 or the Mass Pike, but both routes are circuitous. While I enjoyed driving through the bustling Erving and good old Gill, I had previously fulfilled my western MA requirement by driving the Mohawk trail. Secondly, since it is located in southern VT, which is a nice region of the state it is too close to the residents of the tristate area. I find these people to be abrasive and generally inconsiderate of other people. This was clearly indicated to me by the proportion of clowns who bumped into or pushed me or refused to get out of the way or make room whilst I was trying to navigate the resort. Thirdly, buying a lift ticket and rental equipment is difficult. After purchasing the lift ticket I need to get rental stuff for the gf. We proceeded to walk around looking for this elusive rental place, only to find that you needed to buy the rental equipment and the ticket counter. This mean we had to get back in line. Okay after getting the rental voucher we headed to rental counter only to discover that they were out of ski boots. Yes, that is correct. They did not have any boots. After a few minutes of digging the ski tech produced boots which smelled like a commonly ingested drug that people who ski would use. After the rental fiasco we attempted to ski. This was made impossible by the fact that we could not find any trail maps aside from the huge stationary once at the base. 100% of the time I have been skiing before trail maps were given when you purchased tickets. This was not the case. After taking the quad up the top of the mountain we began to ski. The trail was well groomed and fairly long. The main problem with the trail system was that the trails are not consistently marked at intersections. Several times we would be skiing come to intersection, proceed in a logical way and end up trail we didn't want. Finally, the intersection and trail mergers at this place are dangerous. I saw 3 people injured and being taken down with the Ski Patrol. All of these collisions happened when slowed trails merged with advanced ones. After skiing we tried the famed Waffle Haus. This place seemed like it would be decent. After waiting almost 30 mins we got our waffles. There were decent, but not worth the wait or cost. If you do decide to the do the Haus go for the chocolate. read more

Wanted to give snowshoeing a try while in the area. Wind chills were -20 so we wanted to try a guided tour for the first time and this was one of the only guided tour in the area. It ran $45 plus 20% gratuity added if you choose and that includes shoes and ski poles. The tour lasted about 1-1.5 hours as advertised and it winded through the woods along the slopes. It is much more strenuous than expected, so be prepared for that. I was a bit disappointed in that there was not much of a scenic view and you never got to the top of the mountain. The entire trail winds through the woods and you can occasionally see a decent view through the trees, but you have to be conscious of where you are walking because its tricky coming back down the mountain. Overall, a great intro to snowshoeing that helped me understand it requires more energy than hiking, but I would look elsewhere in the area for something better to do snowshoeing for the price read more

Mount Snow is the perfect example of being a victim of one's own success. It has some of the best beginner to advanced terrain in New England. There is plenty of acreage, and three different lift areas split by the mountain face. There is a hint of expert terrain on newly sanctioned tree runs, but just enough to get a taste. The complaints about crowds and speed control are valid, but mainly because they draw such a crowd, controlling that many people is a logistical challenge. Stay off Blue bird lift and Long John, and you'll easily double your mileage on any given weekend. Weekdays you will own it. Overall, Mount Snow has nowhere to go but up. read more

I'd never skied until this winter. My husband had tried cross country skiing a few years ago. Our exchange student is an avid skier. We're talking trips to the Alps several times a year. While she wanted to teach us on her own we booked the "Learn To Ski" package and figured we'd trust the experts. When arriving at Mt. Snow we had some trouble finding where to go. The signs were not clear enough and one would think that the assumption is going to made that the people going to ski school haven't visited before - why not make it clear where they should go? We found an attendant and he pointed us in the right direction. The tree attendants we passed each said, "Where to?" and waved us on until the third directed us into a spot. We told each one the same thing: we have an appointment for ski school including rentals (this will come in later). We were quickly directed to the seating area upon arriving and because we were early had time to help N get set up with her lift ticket and figure out where she needed to be. K and I waited and were greeted by a man who was from NYC, super nice, and was in charge of getting us set up. Set up took far longer than it should have. Perhaps take each group into the area rather than waste so much time? It was kind of silly when we think about just how long we sat there. Also, the paperwork? Have students fill it out while they're sitting there or ahead of time. And if they don't bring it, do it while they're waiting, not as part of the lesson. That ate a TON of time. There were four people in our group, two women and two men. After getting geared up we headed to the instruction area which was, in a word, a nightmare. There are no rules and if there are, they are not enforced. There are snowboarders sitting on their boards talking on their cell phones (obnoxious!), skilled snowboarders showing off and spraying snow everywhere, random moms standing in the middle of lessons taking pictures of their kids (not in lessons). The instructor, Robert, grumbled a lot but didn't say anything to anyone. No one said anything to anyone. I was ready to say something to lots of someones. Robert gave us the basics and then we started. The description is that this is a half day learn to ski lesson. We talked about starting and stopping, we talked about steering, we practiced. The problem? We had to walk up the hill each time. Talk about (another) time suck. Every time we went down we walked back up. One person in our group could not understand the physics of walking up and joked at one point, "isn't that why they have lifts?" Robert would wait each time for this guy to finally get to the top. Considering that I seemed to really be getting it, I could have advanced but instead I ended up standing around. A lot. And, I paid for a learn to ski lesson. Also a lot. Between the massive amount of people hanging out and not paying attention making it hard to ski safely, the obnoxious show offs and cell phone talkers and the guy in my class who couldn't get back up the hills, I maybe got in five turns/critiques. Considering the cost of this type of lesson, I was disappointed. Here are some things that could help: Rather than randomly assign four newbies to a single instructor, have times you put groups out and have the instructors watch, then split them up by ability. This lesson is supposed to end with you learning how to use the chair lift and go down the learning hill. I was ready for that but couldn't do it because others in my group weren't ready - how does that make sense. After assessing people if you split them up by instructor and ability group those who are advanced can advance (and end up liking your program, coming back and spending more money) and those who need more help can get that help. It was not Robert's fault that the lesson was awful; it's Mt. Snow's for being really lazy about putting together a decent program. Additionally, my husband, who will never ski again, was having a really rough time. At one point he had a nasty spill near the line for the lift and knocked over a small sign. Were things not so insanely crowded and were people asked not to just randomly ski through the learning area, this wouldn't have happened. Some complete jerk running the lift loudly addressed my husband, "You need to be more careful," but said nothing to the skiers who had gotten in his way. This same guy, later, offered no help when I fell near him (only fall of the day) and had difficulty getting up. I said, "Can you help me, I can't figure out how to get up?" (he was just standing there texting anyway) and he said, "Maybe you should learn," and turned his back on me. Between entitled skiiers, rude employees and a terrible teaching method, we will not go back nor will we recommend Mt. Snow to anyone. Oh, and thanks for that ugly orange sticker announcing we shouldn't have parked where we were directed to. Definitely not worth the money. read more

I've been to a lot of slopes in the north east and really enjoyed Mount Snow! I use to snowboard but after a bad fall was scared to go snowboarding again....so I figured I'd try skiing because I don't wanna be lame and not do anything. This year we did a huge trip to Mount Snow with 20 people for New Years. We were sick of dealing with NYC for New Years and wanted to do something different for a change. The green trails are pretty good, but Long John is a bit too narrow for beginners (because there are so many people on the greens). I like the blues a lot (although not the ones with a lot of moguls!!). They have some nice lifts as well. The Bluebird express has a cover so you don't get cold from the wind and cushy seats! There is one lift I HATE because there is this conveyor belt that leads you to where you wait for the lift to sit...and it ran me over =(. Yeah, I'm pretty sure these things only happen to me. Being stuck under a chairlift is hilarious to watch....but not so much if it's you haha. It does get foggy up at the top of the mountain and pretty icy towards the end of the day Anyways all in all a really fun time. Don't forget to get the waffles there!! It's SOOO good. Yum. read more

I really enjoyed Mount Snow! It was my first time skiing in Vermont, and it was bitterly cold, but I still loved it. The main 6 person lift with the blue cover fills up a lot, so just walk down a bit and take the other lift that goes to the top of the mountain, It is just as fast, but it holds less people and doesn't have the cover. As a result, the line was way shorter. Also, I love that there are green and blue trails starting at the top of the mountain! Great for a beginner/intermediate skier like me! read more

I loved Mount Snow! I would never call this a luxury ski resort, but it was very nice and had plenty of trails to keep me interested for my 5 day stay. The two main lifts are high speed lifts which will get you to the summit in 7 and 7.5 minutes respectively. Unfortunately, our visit coincided with the bluebird lift being broken so we did not get to try it. I could definitely see the value in it on a few of the windy/snowy/sleeting days we had. If I had one complaint it would be that they dedicate a lot of acreage to the terrain parks. They don't really give you any idea of the trail difficulty in that area, so if you are a beginner I'd ask someone about it before taking a trip over there. Most of the trails were opened and groomed during out stay. The resort includes three lodges, a bar at the summit, a rental shop, demo shop and two waffle cabins. We stayed at the resort so I cannot comment on the parking situation, but I did drive through the area and there seemed to be plenty of parking. Midweek the lift lines were short (if any). I heard that Saturday is a nightmare so if probably avoid that. read more

From a look at the trail map, you can see that Mount Snow is geared towards the beginner/intermediate skiier/snowboarder. We were skeptical about our trip up but it turned out to be pretty decent especially when you consider the drive. We cut our drive an hour short from when we usually drive up to Killington. The North Face ended up being pretty decent but the lift operations at the resort really turned what could have been a great day into a so-so day. On our first day there, Challenger didn't open until 12 so only Outpost was running which caused a severe backing up of people with operators that weren't doing a very good job. At 2PM the lift operators shut down Outpost so only Challenger was running creating a similar sardine packed line. This all happened even though the lift signs clearly state that the lifts close at 4PM. Once up top, the game changes. The North Face provides a really good variety of different types of terrain from quick flat steep trails to lots of bumps. The glades were fun and views are really beautiful Overall, the mountain itself is really fun but the service leaves something to be desired. read more

I just spent four days skiing at Mt. Snow with my family. We will not be going back. The conditions were good and the terrain was perfect for my 9 and 12 year olds--intermediate skiers--but those are the only positive things that I can say about the mountain. The lodge is the dirtiest and dumpiest on the East Coast; the staff was scarce, and when they appeared, they were mostly indifferent. The parking situation was chaotic. It was hard to unload four pairs of skis and boots in the drop off zone, which is supposed to be 15 minute parking only, because people just parked there. There was one guy managing the lower parking lot. I have never seen so many out of control skiers and boarders in my almost 40 years of skiing. The mountain has many criss-crossing and merging trails, but very little signage indicating that skiers should slow down or look up at these junctures. There wasn't a patroller or Mountain Host in sight. We saw more than a few near misses. Management apparently believes that it is enough to post "ski at your own risk" and "know the rules" signs, but don't have to do anything about people who willfully ignore basic mountain safety. The lifties were generally incompetent managing long lift lines and indifferent to one woman who fell off a chair while loading. Waiting skiers had to implore the two guys working the lift to assist her and stop the lift. Management seems to have lost sight of the skier experience. There is an anything goes and hyper-aggressive culture at Mount Snow. If you want a more family friendly experience drive another hour to Okemo. read more

I went up to Mount Snow Jan 15th 2011. It was a holiday weekend, so I expected a crowd. I haven't been here for about 6 years and I remembered it as a great mountain. How times have changed. First of all - there was no base. No base! in Mid-Jan? Most of the trails were marked as thin cover, and half of the runs were bare in a lot of places despite just getting a big dump a few days ago. Apparently Mt Snow decided not to make a base this year - ridiculous. They also didn't mark quite a few exposed cliffs (and these were on blue runs, near lifts) that I am sure injured a few people or at least destroyed their equipment. The signage in general is awful as all the signs for runs are halfway down the run instead of at intersections so finding your way around the mountain is near impossible. Got a few good runs in at the end of the day in loose powder, which were great, but I'd say maybe 3 runs all day were passible in terms of full cover. For a mountain that charges $80 for a lift ticket, that's inexcusable. read more

I went to Mt. Snow for the second time this weekend and I was just as happy with my day skiing as I was the last time. The mountain is large enough that no one can get bored and the trails are wide. Even this Saturday that was really busy thanks to the pond skim going on there were still quiet trails and you could easily skip long lift lines by hopping in the singles lines. It's nice that they have people mooo-vers or their shuttle buses to get you to the lodges from their numerous parking lots. The main lodge here is nicer than most ski lodges I've been to although the food prices are just as high as anywhere else. Skiing is expensive no matter what way you cut it but it's nice to spend the money on the lift ticket and have a really great day skiing. I've also been to Mt. Snow when they hosted the New England Tough Mudder which my brother and uncle participated in, it was a great setup and the shuttles were a great asset due the huge crowds. Still pretty in the summer but I prefer my visits to be in the winter after a good snowstorm. read more

I really enjoyed the trails here after skiing at Stratton the previous day. Although it could probably be due to weather conditions and my level of comfort. They even had an intresting conveyor belt to get people on the chairlift! I didn't have time to eat in their cafeteria but I did make it a point to try the Waffle House (Stratton has one too) which was the best thing ever created (I happily devoured a Belgian waffle drizzled with chocolate)! I have been skiing this mountain for over 20 years. It seems as though ever since Vail purchased the mountain, the lift tickets went up and the quality of the trails has gone down. They don't even attempt to open more than 40-50 trails any longer and today, I couldn't find one groomed trail to ski on. The snow was clumpy and dangerous if you are a fast and or advanced skier. For $118, spend a little longer on the road and head to Stratton. 40-50 trails is not enough for the large crowds they receive at that mountain. read more

Perfect travel time from Hartford, CT. Lift lines go fairly quickly even on a gorgeous sunny day. Mountain is great for all levels of skiers. I stick to the blues which also have a range of difficulty. Rental people were super fun and full of energy, set the mood nicely. Easy in, easy out. Great place for skiing or snowboarding. They have a lot of lifts and ton of trails, even on days when business is slow and the mountain is not very populated, with some trails being closed there was still plenty of space for all skiers and boarders. My friends and I came late in the season in february on a weekday. The place was relatively empty and we had a lot of space to enjoy ourselves. Only complaint is the ice. There was alot of ice on the mountain and I felt the resort decided to cover that ice with the snow a little too late. They should've prepared better and started the snow machines before the mountain opened to the public. read more

Awesome elevation. Great intermediate/advanced trail selection! Fantastic use of Green Mountain National Forest! This is a great option for any CT skiers like myself, who are looking for some more elevation and terrain than what is available in our relatively flat state. We had some issues finding the main lodge when we were driving in, but once we parked and got in,we were all set! There's a free bag check at the lodge, and you're not too far from the main "bubble" lift. This bluebird lift provides a quick ride up to the top of the mountain and also provides much appreciated wind cover! The day we visited the whole top of the mountain was engulfed in a snow cloud. What I loved most about the mountain was the large variety of blue trails. They varied in difficulty, width, popularity, and landscape. The main green run was also a lot of fun! Staying w/my 16 y/o at the Grand Summit Resort for a few nights. Nice place and people, but check in is after 6pm and the signage to get here was not very well lit making it difficult to navigate. The front desk team was helpful but the guys running the valet parking seemed overwhelmed w/a lot of people looking to get their cars, as well as drop off and check in. My son and I humped all our stuff in ourselves and then loaded up a cart w/the stuff and got it up to our room. Really? Our room was great, but we had to call and complain about the people above us who were making an extraordinary amount of noise after 9pm. We ate at Harrimans Restaurant and there were not many people when we arrived and the service was good and the food was ok. The decor is lackluster and utilitarian, but we guessed good for family w/kids of all ages. The restaurant filled up quickly and the servers seemed somewhat taxed as we waited to pay our bill. We had a good nights sleep and went back to Harrimans for buffet breakfast and were disappointed that the eggs and pancakes were barely warm. We finished up quickly and headed out for a few runs on the slopes. We finished up a few runs by 11am and saw that the place was getting packed. I mean waiting 20 minutes to get on the heated lift! Too many people not being managed in a very efficient manner. We rode up to the summit and upon getting off a young girl fell a few feet in front of me and since the discharge area is exceedingly narrow, and the crew, old guy, didn't get to her in time, I went right into her! Very frustrated w/lack of organization here. Hopefully this gets better. I will let you all know. Thanks Leaving today and checkout is 11am. We have a full day lift pass and I asked if they could extend our checkout til 1pm. No bit we could store our stuff w/valet and get changed in the pool area. Really!? Check in is not until 6pm and you can't give us an xtra 2 hrs...that still gives you 5 hrs to clean our suite! Here was there chance to say thank you, but instead they tell us they don't want our business or anyone I talk to for that matter, business. read more

Hubby has been skiing this resort for nearly 30 years. His dad remembers the days of the Playboy Bunny Lodge and Pool (1960's). Oh how Mount Snow has changed over time!! This a very decent ski/snow board resort. Prices are on the high side, but any place you go for these activities is going to suck your wallet dry. The equipment is inherently expensive to purchase, operate and maintain and all these costs are passed down to you. Unrestricted season pass prices area SKY high (pushing $1000/person). That being said, I've never had a bad time here. Annoyed at the crowds and long lines, sure, but again, that's all resorts of this type. On the plus side, the crew here really strives to have snow on the ground as early as possible and to make it last as long as possible. When the kids are older and use the ski school, I will review that. read more

Mount Snow has the sickest terrain park in the NE that I have been to. If you go late in the season, lift tickets can be had for $50 each. Just search on Craigslist. For rentals, helmets are a separate charge and cost $12. Equipment rentals are $39 for one day. These are 2010-2011 prices. My main complaint about Mount Snow is that there are no gondolas and the main lift (Grand Summit Express) has such a backed up line. It could take as long as 30 minutes just to get on board! If you add the actual time on the lift, that's 45 minutes gone down the drain. The Summit Local lift also take you to the top (Summit Lodge area), but it's not always running and is super slow, and took me 30 minutes to reach the top. I just went this past weekend (mid-March) and half of the lifts (they have 20 lifts) and half of the trails were closed. Also, the village doesn't have much to offer. The main restaurant is Southwest Grill (inside Timber Lodge), and the food there isn't too good. The best feature of the mountain is its Carinthia terrain park, which is its own ski resort onto itself. It actually used to be a separate resort, until Mount Snow bought it out. There are countless huge kickers to satisfy any adrenaline junkie's appetite. I have to admit that Mt Snow's terrain park is much better than that of Whistler's Nintendo Park, Steamboat, Park City, Canyons, and other resorts in the NE. Mount Snow offers snowmobiling through High Country Tours, but it is pricey. $125 for 2 hours for individuals, and $171 (after tax) for 2 people on 1 snowmobile. read more

Went there for a weekend. Mt. Snow has a lot of great things going on. They have plenty of free parking spots, shuttles with a funny name (I forget.. moo bus or something), free bag check-in. I like that the higher lifts go to one point at the top, from where you can have a wildly customizable run down. There are a lot of intersections among the blues and greens, so it was a little confusing at first.. I should've had a map with me. We got the hang of it after 2-3 runs. The lift that fits 6 people with a blue cover was awesome! Tickets are expeeeensive, but they have an awesome season ticket deal for students. The slopes were pretty icy when I went in February... there were some serious plateaus on greens that were the bane of snowboarders' existence. Several lifts had a pretty icy and steep get-off spots. So while it was not my favorite, I think it'd be a nice place to go read more

Mount Snow is a nice little mountain in southern Vermont. Went there this weekend with a bunch of friends and really had a great time and enjoyed greatttttt conditions (it snowed 10 inches the day before we got there). The first day, nothing was groomed so we were skiing in untouched powder. A lot of people would say thats awesome but for East Coast skiers, this can be a bit of a problem. The snow was very heavy and it was really tough sledding through the ungroomed powder. Also, the whole North Face was shut down due to high winds which is a problem for experienced skiers because all the the black diamonds are on the North Face. The next day, however, everything was great. PERFECT conditions, all the lifts were open, everything was great. If you go to Mt. Snow make sure to check out the North Face which is much more challenging than the quite boring blues and greens on the main side of the mountain. The problem with these blues and greens aren't that they easy, it's that they're boring. They are pretty much all the same, straight, and wide. They offer no variation and are extremely flat. However, the glades were possibly the best glades I've ever skied. It's a HUGE area with tons of variations and criss-crossing trails. Very cool area. Mount Snow was my first exposure to East Coast skiing/snowboarding. It was better than I expected given the late season conditions, but I was bitterly disappointed that the resort charges a flat $39 to rent snowboard boots alone. That is the same price as a complete board and boots package. Of course, they failed to mention that when I rented and I only have myself to blame. We checked with other rental facilities later, and they split the charge if you want only boots or a board to rent. We were there for the microbrew beer festival held on Saturday, April 6 (2013), and were livid to find that the beer vendors selling beer closed their stands 10 minutes before the actual end of the festival as we stood in line waiting to cash in the last of our beer tokens! Whomever is responsible for this decision should be fired! read more

I spent my first weekend at Mount Snow during the busiest time of the year, after New Years. It was a nice change from northern Vermont luxury ski resorts. Lift lines move quickly, lots of trails for the size of the mountain for a variety of skill levels. Lots of choices for food between the base and summit. I think the resort draws a different type of crowd than mountains like Okemo, Killington, or Sugarbush. More day trippers and weekenders, but was still an enjoyable weekend and very nice staff at the mountain. read more

This mountain used to be amazing. I've been getting a season pass here since around 2012 but the 2019/2020 season is off to the worst start ever. The summit access lifts must be broken because they rarely open them. Last week the line at Carinthia was the single longest line for a chair lift I have ever seen in my 22+ years of snowboarding. I will not be getting a season pass next year and I will never be wasting my money on buying a day pass for my girlfriend unless they have a chairlift guarantee. read more

When we got to the ticket window the person behind the window wouldn't recognize our online Connecticut Ski council online proof of my Host's membership. It cost me an extra $35.00. Lunch at the top of the mountain was fine but the restaurant was under staffed and the service was slow. The conditions of the mountain were very good. Our last run we were online at 3:50 to ride the bubble lift . At 4:00 the woman informed people that had been waiting that we couldn't get on the lift. This would have been fine had they told people in advance that they wouldn't be allowed to ride. The staff needs to be more customer focused. read more

New ownership (Vail Resorts) is already off to a terrible start. Playing games with the cutoff dates for the season passes and being unclear with their advertisements about those dates. I can only imagine what is to come if they are being shady about things like this in their first season as owners. read more

Snow Bunnies, Pizza, French Fry, Hot Chocolate.., it always sounds like so much fun when your friends are describing it to you. When you get there, the reality can be much more harsh and unforgiving. Especially when said friends toss you down a steep, steep mountain. It really wasn't how high the mountain was. I wasn't even all that worried about the steepness. But, when I stared at that descent I already knew, "the French Fry isn't going to work on this one. Shit" the whole experience as akin to, French fry, fall, French fry, fall.., I clearly needed to learn some new skills.., oh and I sure did. I learned that when you bend forward far enough the ski's have a built in breakaway mechanism that is meant to prevent you from snapping off your knee caps!! Yay for new skills!! I learned that when I splatter and lose my ski poles as I slide forty feet down the mountain, other nice skiers will bring my ski poles to me. Apparently it's some sort of snow mountain etiquette. I learned that it may be a good idea to grab a helmet for next time. The important thing is that my doctor checked out my knee, and said that I was fine. All-in-all, a great trip. Next time I just have to be sure my skills are up to snuff before I tread on the fluff. read more

Arrived at Mount Snow at 3 in the afternoon on a Monday to avoid traffic. No nite skiing they close at 4. But I knew that. We came back at 9 am. Skiing was great. No waiting in lines. Food was good and not too overpriced. Our second day we were blessed with 6" of new snow so skiing was even better. Great facility. read more

I have always been a fan of Stratton, and now I regret all of the time I spent there and not at Mount Snow. I love this place! It is hard to say what is best about it; Mount Snow just kills it all the way around! It is super easy to get to within hours from any major east coast city. OK there is terrain for days, and days, and days. Seriously you will die from leg burn far before you get all the way through the place. Often Mount Snow is overlooked by it's older brother Stratton. This is a good thing for you. With prices being more competitive than those at Stratton you can ride longer for less. Chairs abound this mountain and lines are minimum at worst. Mount snow is blessed with what I think is the best terrain park on the east coast. The mini pipe isn't good enough for you? No worries test you skills and courage on the dew tour superpipe. With a staggering 20 plus foot wall and next to the lift strap in and show off. Don't worry about the posers jeering you from the lift; just be proud you had the guts to take a spin. Kickers, rails and boxes oh my! Carinthia is a dream come true. It comprises a full of the total mountain and consists of not just man made features, but also natural rails and wall rides. It doesn't end at night. Mount Snow has a nice night life and everyone on the mountain is friendly. Make this a must stop on your tour of the east coast. Last year we rode until late March and we ended the season with a fresh powder day! read more

Love Mt Snow! It is a good mountain for snowboarding and skiing in the winter, and everyone that works here has always been so nice and helpful. I came again this year for the New England Tough Mudder, which was complete insanity but well worth it! Yet again, the staff here was very friendly, somehow kept the very large crowd in control. I do like this mountain, and will be back in the winter for some boarding! read more

Beyond absurd skiing experience. Dec 31, 2019, only TWO lifts are open at the base as of 11am. Ticket windows continue to sell full price tickets without informing patrons of skiing/lift conditions. People waiting in line for over an hour just to buy tickets - even if you've purchased them online ahead of time, as only the ticket windows can print the actual tickets. People in line gossiping that due to icing conditions only two lifts are open with over a two hour wait. Ticket windows DO NOT inform anyone about this. Spent $500 for lift tix for myself and my two kids and rental. After spending 1+ hr at ticket windows, another hour getting our rental equipment, we were faced with only two functional lifts with over 2 hr wait!!! By 12pm we made one run down the hill. Decided to get our money back, and another surprise, just ONE person working at the guest services desk issuing replacement vouchers. Line stretched for an hour. Basically an hour wait at every place. Could have been prevented if ticket windows were HONEST and informed patrons that "hey guys, before you buy your lift tickets, know that we have a 2+ hr wait as only 2 lifts are open". A complete disaster on the last day of the year. read more

I've been going to Mt Snow for the last 7 years or so. Next to Okemo, it's my favorite mountain in southern VT. For me, it's the closest big mountain within 5 hrs of NYC, so I head north whenever I can. I find that the blues and greens are pretty gentle here, but that's ok, cause that's just how I like it. I love all of the blue runs from the Summit and hate the new lift, Bluebird Express which carries 6 passengers (it's so hard for us snowboardsers). I also especially like the Waffle Cabin (snack time) and Cuzzin's (lunch or apres ski). The snowboard shop also carries a fun selection of apparel, gear and accessories. read more

Overpriced. Simple as it can be put. The slopes are nice, the people are friendly, food is descent, summit view is gorgeous, but as far as paying $75+ for lift ticket to ski..... Well that's well overpriced. We went to Ski Sundown, CT, Catamount, NY, then Mount Snow the last day and we both would have rather spend less money and went to Ski Sundown. Ski Sundown is a lit smaller mountain but the trails are nice and about $20-25 cheaper for lift tickets. This would have earned 2 stars but the view is breathtaking which earned it 1 more star. read more
