I've seen many casino bars in my lifetime and few have the versatility and space that Mountain Bar brings to the table (#1). Bally's may not rank high on the resort echelon in Atlantic City and it's not out of the question to consider Mountain Bar one of its greatest assets. (#2) For starters, Mountain Bar is no puny bar. Compared to many other casino bars, it is a true sprawl and quite spacious. It absolutely embodies the "wild west" theme of the casino and offers pretty extensive seating all throughout the bar and various tables. They also have a number of beer pong tables, a mechanical bull, a dedicated stage and dance floor, and a motorized toy train that rides atop the rocky wall decor at the top of the venue. They have dedicated DJs, mini concerts, and drink specials constantly, which brings in a serious crowd nightly. Drinks wise, it reminds me a lot of what a dive bar might serve. A lot of sweet cocktails and basic concoctions, but the pour is pretty serious. Many of the drinks can be hard to down given the harshness of bottom shelf liquor and limited stuff on tap. When in doubt, go for shots. I think the bartenders could be friendlier; something tells me they're jaded from the constant flow of drink tickets, lousy tippers, and general dbaggery. The patrons range from bridge and tunnel to sleazy and slimy, which makes for a rough mingling session if needs be. This place usually draws a very strange crowd, but it's in Bally's so I think that's to be expected. They serve cheap drinks and I think that's the main reason anyone goes there. The bartenders are honestly very strange and don't fit the clientele that are usually there, not sure how to explain it. They used to have even cheaper and better deals but have consistently raised prices over the past few years. For some reason, I still like coming in here for a drink or two when at Bally's/Caesar's. There's some games that you can play nearby like basketball, air hockey and beer pong and it gets pretty rowdy on weekend nights. read more

Wow, what service. Our wonderful friendly server was very timely and courteous. Lence(?) Was so accommodating that I had to interrupt my Superbowl Fun and Frolic. Happy, pleasant, cheerful and always close to take our order. If her supervisor and manager have any understanding of this over achieving employees dedication to making guest feel welcomed and appreciated. Stayed at ballys in the denis tower.3rd floor room. I loved the room location because it is close to this bar and casino area! Easy and quick to get to and if you need to run up to your room youre right there. The bar was pack on a saturday night in july. Live band playing lots of people dancing on the dance floor. Had a great time here for Yelp Winter Break party because of the crowd we were with and all those drink coupons! Yee Haw! Cheap beer, beer pong, mechanical bull, dancing cowgirls on bar, and 60 year old bartenders. WTF? What's wrong with this picture? I don't get why Caesars/Bally's is hiring the senior citizen circuit to man the bar scene in these places. Same at the Toga Bar. No offense, but they really need young energetic people to work with the crowd and keep things pumped up and partying. It's almost as if they looked tired and angry that we were there and couldn't wait for us to leave. This place has so much potential with the mechanical bull, beer pong tables, flat screens, and music they play but it's centered in the worn out Wild West Casino surrounded by tired slot machines with the standard older weekend bus crowd playing them. Also, there are no table games here as they seem to be renovating the place forever now. C'mon already and get this done. No blackjack, craps, poker, is pretty lame. That being said I did have a lot of fun here with the Yelp Winter Break crowd. This is that high school Friday night sand pit blast or college frat party all over again and it's a damn good time. For $3-$7 a drink you can easily send your BAL through the roof. Other have said the drinks vary depending on the bartender. I only had one and her drinks were STRONG! Many of the mixed drinks were quite sweet but who cares after the first SIX or EIGHT! Let's not forget the bull riding. Who doesn't like seeing drunken patrons flying through the air and landing on their heads? Then there is the half-naked cow girls dancing on the bar. Kay, so Mountain Bar is easily a 2 star casino bar that I'm generously giving 3 stars. This place has accidentally become a tradition with my gals since we first took a girl's trip to AC about 3 or 4 years ago - each time we end up here kind of by accident, shrug our shoulders to their low, low prices and grab a table as we wait to head back to NY. Most recently our most recent girls trip to AC was fueled by Yelp's Winter Break spectacular and we ended up back here again for both a Yelp event and as a place to down some beers and round out the last day as we killed time before our bus came to take us back to the NYC...again. With a 24 hour - 7 days a week Happy Hour special that consists of select $2 draft beers (Bud Light, Coors Light and I think Heineken - ughhhh, I LOATHE Heineken), $2 (crappy) shots and $3 bottles of beer and better pints (well...not MUCH better, but I'll take a Blue Moon over any of the aforementioned draft beers ANY DAY) it's not too much of a challenge to oversee the flaws here. It's just a loud, uninteresting and just weirdly tacky bar...but it's in a casino, so we can't entirely fault them there right? Cheap beer is cheap beer and when you're finishing off a trip in AC it doesn't hurt to down a few here. I would never in a million years make it a "destination bar", no way Jose! Bar review: One of the tellies is damaged, but you can still watch well enough. Arcade game by the indoor patio. Rounding down to three stars for shite beer/shots on the cheap. Tiny cups for the cocktails over ice so you may as well drink for your budget rather than your palate. Seriously, I've had to pee into a cup that size at the doctor's office. My sugar-free Red Bull vodka was slightly skewed towards the latter, so I nursed it through half my dinner elsewhere in Bally's. Bartenders were a little rundown by that point in the night but they still managed to serve in order of approach. Popped my mechanical bull ride cherry here by the beer pong courts. Pay $5, sign a waiver at the bar island, get in line with your receipt for the operator, and doff your shoes before stepping onto the landing mat. They're confident enough in the operator's skills that they don't have you velcro on the emergency stop lead. If you're lucky during slow hours, the barback might give you a demo to lessen the dread. Less bucking than spinning but my beginner's luck stopped at "level 3." Don't wear slippery material, and be prepared to grab a grimy phallic rope for dear life. (Watching guys attempt to ride the beast in a non-wanking pose is great.) Best 35-second adrenaline rush I've had inside, out of bed, and off the wall. read more

The bar definitely has a "that's pretty cool" factor. The bar has a miniature mountain on top and around the bar, hence "Mountain Bar". There's a Mechanical Bull, which I absolutely had to try out, considering that there are only a handful of places in New Jersey that feature this. (btw I lasted16 seconds) Their signature drinks just weren't that good, I really wanted to like them, but their drinks were way too sweet and just weird tasting. There are women dressed in cowgirl costumes called "The Wild West Vixens" that dance on the bar, which totally sounds cool, except that it was like watching a dance recital when there's that one girl who is totally not in sync with the rest of the group; which was pretty sad. Great pregame spot or good location to catch a sports game to break up the gambling! They have $2-3 beer specials and $4 shot specials all day everyday, but I think these prices are only temporary. Wild Wild West is undergoing renovations, and all the table games are closed as a result. They'll be making the space more "family friendly" and centralizing the gaming at Bally's (right next door). So in the meanwhile, your only reason to even enter the Wild Wild West area is either for the limited slot machines, the Virginia City Buffet (very good by the way), or Mountain Sports Bar. Don't do their "specialty drinks" as Israel said, they taste like medicine. I liked the music, it was like top 40's. I did not like the dance with the cowgirls, it sucked. Like really badly choreographed....when Johnny Rocket's dancers are better than you, you should re-evaluate your routine. Then they also came along holding their hat for tips and pretty much forced people into it. Plus all FIVE of them came up to you expecting money....sweetie, only 2 out of 4 of you were cute...don't push your luck. I can't. I just can't. Yeah, this place was kind of cool when we were all there for the Yelp Event. There's bull riding for $5 if you like to get tossed around. Cheap booze. I went here after trying to figure out how to gamble away my bus casino voucher Sunday afternoon and had some time to kill before any Academy busses were coming soooo. . . . naturally decided to grab a $2 beer and watch some nfl football and soak in what we did the entire weekend. $2/3 beers is quite the deal. Yes, everything on tap kind of sucks. The $2 beers were only Miller Lite and Coors. I went with Millers because Blue Moon isn't my favorite and none of the other $3 beers were calling out to me. Not the issue here at all. Cheap beer is cheap beer and sometimes its great if you are in the mood. The issue was both the service and the food. I looked at the menu and it had some kind of nachos/wings deal. Alright. . . . why not. I could go for a pound (which is exactly 10) wings and a small box of disgusting nachos split amongst three people. It was enough food. But I was expecting the wings to at least be like chicken wings. No. It was greasy, super super duper greasy fried chicken with dipping sauces on the side, which our waitress didn't even remember and caused Steph P. to run over and make her own Puerto Rican sauce. None of the sauces were great. And I sincerely hope that they were not sitting out in the open for too long. Looking at you mayonnaise. Because as soon as I got home, all I could taste in the back of my throat was that sad pile of chicken and nachos and I threw up everywhere and took an extreme severe digestion aid pill, which I only pull out of the reserves in extreme cases. The nachos. Here's the tricky bit. My friend that we all know and love, no explanation necessary, does not eat fruits/or vegetables. For the most part. She asked for pretty much everything on the side since the rest of us do eat produce from time to time. She asked for freaking chips with cheese and sour cream on them. The waitress and or food preparer did not listen and dumped guac, tomatoes, just a bunch of crap on top. He put a small cup of 'spicy mystery meat' to the side. And Jalapenos were as well on the side. Didn't add the rest of what was even supposed to come in the nachos on it (corn/bacon, etc). I didn't care. But they didn't listen. Spring Break on MTV meets Jersey Shore EVERY NIGHT from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. It is seriously hard to keep a good buzz going here even with $2 draft beer and $2 well shots ... not because the booze doesn't flow free ... but because of the annoyance factor of the crowd. You can't move without being bumped into, spilled on or called out by someone who looks like they should be performing in a One Direction concert. It is PACKED every night with tons of 18 year olds using fake IDs. Most of the kids don't look much older than Justin Beiber and have a maturity level that is about 4 years below his. Most nights I'm in AC I walk in hoping by some magic the infestation of teens acting like alchohol locusts drinking everything in site somehow forgot to come in that night. But alas, its always packed with them. Back in the day (2 years ago) this was a good place to come because they had some of the coldest (and cheapest) draft beer including the elusive Yueng Ling lager! It was served in a cold glass mug and accompanied by all the pretzels you cared to eat. Today, Yueng Ling lager has been taken off tap in favor of Blue Moon (which they call a premium draft ... ha ha) and Coors Light, Miller Light and Bud Light. They also have a friggin TAP of Jagermeister. That should tell you all you need to know about the crowd in this bar. They also replaced the glass mugs with clear pastic cups and no more pretzels. During the day, when it doesn't look like every freshman pledge-class frat party I've ever been to, its actually not a bad place to throw a few drinks back for $2 each. But at night the crowd is strange. Tweenage looking kids in bright neon shirts screaming 'SHOTS BRO!!!!' at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason ... and the prerequisite creepy 40 something year old Atlantic City guys in tight Affliction polo shirts and spiked hair oggling the 20 year old girls who are dancing on the bar with their dresses hiked up to their thongs. I guess you can also guess that there are a lot of fights here ... along with people throwing up on the bar ... and random bursts of makeout sessions. The bar itself is kind of fun. They used to have a train that went around the bar. I guess even though Jersey gas is much cheaper than just about any other state, they had to conserve when they dropped all their drink prices to around $2. (Although they do make a $6 house punch with Everclear for those with bigger wallets and more refined palates ha ha) and the train no longer runs. The bar looks like you are in the desert of Arizona with foam painted rock formations and a sunset looking sky. They used to play country music here ... but have since updated to dance music to satisfy the year round spring break crowd. I'm not sure why they call it a sports bar because I don't know that I've seen them showing a game here before. If there was one on a television at the bar, The Party Rock Anthem must have taken the sound away. They should call this place The Wild West Bar more because it appears anything goes here from public sex to underage drinking (which actually usually go hand in hand). Know what you are getting into here ... but also know that drinks are a third or less the price of most casino bars as well. read more

Wild Wild West's Mountain Bar serves up wildly potent cocktails for cheap. The whole theme of the place is a little funny to me, but hey, when in AC.. The one strange part of the bar was not so much the wanna-be cowgirls dancing on the bar-top, but the fact that they went table-to-table after their 'performance' to solicit tips -- including our table in the far back. This is my favorite bar in AC. its very low key and the bartenders are always nice especially Tammy who is very funny. They have very cheap liquor and beer and there is always people here even if you come on a late weekday night. If you come on the weekends they have a DJ and some dancers on the bar. It's funny how much I agree with my fellow Yelpers on here. We all have said that there's something about the Mountain bar that keeps us coming back. I think it's because it's one of the few places in the entire region that has live, good quality, free concerts... with optional, but not mandatory dancing, good games for people who prefer to play games, room to sit at both the mountain bar, and the saloon, plenty of room to spread out and walk around, not too loud, as well as decent snack food. I am a person who really dislikes loud music, but they seem to offer concerts where the selection of music appeals to all tastes. The renovations they did recently really have made a huge difference. They get a hip crowd of people. The "degenerate gamblers" tend to stay in the other part of the casino. Here's a tip: if you play on a slot machine or the video blackjack machine, you can get drinks brought to you for free. You just have to give the cocktail waitress a tip for the service. I suggest just playing the minimum denomination, so that you don't lose too much money. As long as you keep the denomination low, you might even come out ahead with the free drinks. read more

What can I say, they had me at mechanical bull. (The cowgirls in small shorts and tight tops don't hurt either.) Mountain Bar is a random country/western bar in the middle of a casino, the placing is oddity in the middle of Atlantic City but they totally do it for me. Not much to the look, the bar is in a little corner of the casino, long bar with plenty of room to drive yourself in when ordering a drink. Drinks are some of the cheapest I have ever experienced in a casino setting, most of the draft beer is 2 or 3 dollars, yes it is basic domestic beer but as a proud admitted Miller Lite fan that is right up my alley. There were also some specialty cocktails that were all on the cheap side, I recommend the vixen which can be had for a cheap price. Back to the mechanical bull, is anything funnier than watching drunken nuts gyrating around on a mechanical bull, I could spend hours just watching this. The beer pong set is also a unique and fun way to spend some and I crushed the basketball arcade game as well. It is always happy hour here, $2 Coors light, miller lites and miller high life drafts. There is bar seating and bar style table seating. You can't eat food at the bar which I found to be weird. They made us move to a table if we wanted to order fries or anything. The first day we waiting twenty minutes at a table to be served and finally gave up because no one helped us. Granted it was St. Patricks day so it was very busy. My wife and I gave up and sat at the bar instead of munched while drinking. There are 8 TVs around the bar area playing sports networks. They are mounted along the railroad tracks that surround the bar area which is a really great addition and fits very well with the Wild West theme. I was here for the Yelp Winter Break III party. This was my third Winter Break so I could put things into perspective. The Wild West Mountain bar is located in the Ballys Casino adjacent to Ceasars Palace. It is adjacent to the wings fast food and the live band dance floor. After our Philips Yelp check-in this was our second event from 9-11pm. When I arrived around 9:15pm the bar was already full and hopping so I had to squeeze my way in along with other Yelpers to the bar. People asked why we were there so I tried to explain. Last year as I recall we had complimentary drink coupons, but, this year we were charged $5 for Yelp drinks. I recall last year the drinks were only $4 so I guess we were charged like everyone else this year namely $5. The bartenders were very slow to take care of the combined crowd of regular and Yelp customers. I was with another Yelper from Manhattan, who tried to order some shots, but, to no avail. Also what happened to those Wild West Mountain bar dancers from last year? I really liked them so I was disappointed this year. I assume this was a cut-back from Bally's management and unrelated to our Yelp event. Overall I had a good time because I was able to meet some old and new Yelpers from Philly, including Kathleen D. The only thing this place has going for it is the reasonably priced beer. I mean 6.50 for beer on tap is pretty good considering we are in AC. The service can really be worked on. I stood there for nearly 20 minutes in an empty bar. I mean there were about 3 couples and 2 guys around the bar. One of the three couples came after me and one of the two guys came after me as well. I mentioned this because both got serviced before me. The one guy was actually behind me, and the bar attender served him first. The bar attender runs aimlessly around seems exhausted, and sips on a yellow beverage which I assume is beer. We got fired next door and I got a craving for beer. By the time I got my beer my husband almost finished the fries and he was about to go look for me. i Must have liked this place came back here about 5 times or so. Day 1 and Day 2 though together. Mountain Bar wasn't that bad, or was it. There was a lot of craziness when I entered the spot at around 9:20 pm or so. There was a different entrance for yelpers and I didn't realize that AND entered through the other way with all the hooligans. There was a lot of energy in the bar that friday night I will tell you that. Drinks were on point, yeah the trick was to go to the right bartender I guess. Some of us did have a better time. I did think the other side was kind of crazy in the beginning, still nice to see all the people from DC, Philly, Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens (but not too much Queens people), and Manhattan. Even a person or two was there that I met from Virginia. I had a lot of drinks here and had fun, that is all that really matters. I rode the Bull the second day here, didn't do any Beer Pong or the Boxer game. If you can get a seat at the bar you're good to go. They don't always have enough staff to take care of those sitting at the bar as well as the many that walk up and get their drink to go, so be prepared to wait your turn. The bartenders seemed friendly, they were just really busy trying to serve everyone. The Mountain Bar is a fun place - the mountain town theme is really cool. There is a miniature rail track that goes around the bar and the décor is very rustic. We had signature drinks as we were there as part of the Winter Break activities and didn't get a chance to try their other mixed drinks, but the drinks were delicious and strong - just the way I like them! There are dancers that come out on occasion and dance on the bar - might I mention that there are short shorts and cowboy boots/hats involved - nuff said. The mechanical bull is a nice touch - it is so much fun to see those brave souls attempt to tame the wild bull. All in all a very fun place and I know I'll be back! read more

The Mountain bar is loads of fun in the evening. There a lots of people, some dancing and the cowgirl dancers that dance on the bar give a nice show. They offer these cocktails which are in my opinion way too sweet.. and some even taste like medicine.. and thats not just my opinion... lots of folks had the same opinion on those cocktails. The service was really great from the bar staff, but the cowgirls walk around after their dance show and hold out their hat in your face... I think for way too long. I think the mountain bar is a great place to come in the late evening. with $2 shots, its not hard to get the people in a frenzy.. But rest assured, there is tons of security. read more

There's something about this bar that keeps me coming back. If you order one of the 24 hour drink specials, the prices here are amazing. If you don't order from that menu they're overpriced like the rest of the casino bars. On the weekends, they have decent bands and they bring in a big, but young crowd, which is either good or bad depending on your preference. Waitresses and bartenders are usually great. This isn't somewhere I'd spend my entire night, but worth it for a couple pre or post game drinks. read more

They have some cheap drinks but the mixed drinks are the small cups like you'll get on the casino floor so they aren't quite as cheap as they seem. Some of the cocktails are pretty good but others are way too sweet so be sure and read the descriptions. They have lots of TVs so this is the place to check out some sports if you're missing the game. The bartenders are mostly nice and the customers will chat you up which isn't a bad thing and makes for a fun time....unless you get one of the odd ducks talking to you about all of the things that have gone wrong in their life! Mountain Bar is one of those places I end up time and time again. Want to have a quick shot in the middle of the afternoon? AC Beerfest after party? Yelp Winter Break event? Time to pre-game? So I think my favorite time to be there is during the off-times. At night everyone has the same idea to go there for cheap drinks and it gets pretty packed. The bar has an open structure where just a few dividers/partial walls keep it separate from the casino floor. The open structure is probably good when it gets packed, but it takes away from the bar "destination aspect." My favorite time to go is in the middle afternoon. It's great for a quick, cheap drink. It's actually even better to catch a game. While not officially a sports bar, there are a ton of TVs that always have the important games on. While the $3-$4-$3 structure of the drafts-shots-bottles is enticing to the wallet, I'm not in love with the selection. The beers are limited to domestics and the shots are typically something strong, hard to choke-back types of straight liquor. I believe they also have various mixed drink offerings that are a little more than $4, but typically too sweet. As far as décor, they hit the jackpot on this one and it's the perfect wild-west setting. Thinking about all the different themed bars in Atlantic City, I think the Mountain Bar takes the cake for keeping truest to concept. That might sound a little contradictory to my earlier statement about the lack of destination aspect, but the entire Wild West Casino is decorated to theme so well, you just can't miss that hee-haw feeling any place in the bar or casino. While I'm sure I'll be back to Mountain Bar and appreciate the 153 hours a week it is open, you'll probably find me doing a late night pop in or mid-afternoon game break. read more

Great western themed bar located in the Bally's Wild Wild West casino to pre-game or drink at when the other bars close. CHEAP drinks-$2 drafts. $3 corona and corona light bottles, $3 mixed house drinks, $2 and $3 shots. Andy they are open 24/7! Service is great! George is hillarious with his "seafood special" or "cheese and cracker platter" spiel. They have girls dance on the bar sometimes, a lil funny. Slugging $2 shots and beers with my gals. The music is pumping and the wild west dancers are very entertaining. Get the corona light Draft for $2 plus free fried chicken at the wild west food bar. Love this place. read more

Ive been coming here for years. The drinks are cheap and usually its a pretty chilled out spot..sometimes to chilled out. I guess that depends on what days you go. The bartenders are usually pretty cool. Only once had a rude one. The Vixens are no longer there to dance but from what i was told they are at Ceasars. All three trains are broke down behind the bar that is a decor. They took a big majority of the slots off the floor and its now mostly empty(around the bar area).Friday and Saturday night there is usually a band and a dj. Ive seen a few good acts play there. The dj is a pretty cool guy and does take request. All and all its got cheap drinks, a good atmosphere and i still after all these years cant find that damn mechanical bull but that might be because of the cheap drinks!!;-) read more
