The Mountain Bar is a great party starter: cheap booze, quick bites, sleazy cowgirls, mechanical bull, tiny dance floor and beer pong. All the attributes of a frat party in one spot. The bar is dead before 9 pm but can catch on quick afterward. Staff were always around and drink orders came back in a flash. I have come to the Mountain Bar on a few occasions and I think this is the perfect place to start your night. There is good music, cheap drinks and a whole mix of people. On my last visit I sipped on the Brown Cow which is a mix of Patron Cafe, Vodka and soda. I know, Patron Cafe and soda sounded odd to me, too but it worked. The drinks here can be made strong or weak, depending on the bartender. Every once in a while there are about 5 girls that dress up and dance to country music on the bar. I could see this being entertaining for men. I thought that the women came out and danced too many times and broke up the flow on the dance floor. There is a DJ playing a mix of current hits. I requested a Reggaeton song and the DJ said he could not play it because he could only play clean music and he didn't have it. The song was clean (c'mon..I'm a classy lady..) and a very popular Latin song that every Americano knows. Fast forward two hours - my friend and I were taking the escalators up to Ceasar's when we hear our requested song ("Danza Kaduro") playing and people screaming with excitement. Wooo! I was here for Yelp's winter break and Yelp did a great job organizing it. Mountain bar on the other hand was just weird - ordering drinks and the bartenders either just didn't like us (yelp had drink tickets but even my friends who were not using the comp ticket had this problem) or were just cranky they would just ignore us but i made sure we were tipping so what's the problem here ?? - The bull is a safety hazard I have ridden mechanical bulls and this one is horrible the horns are broken off, the handle is broken so your holding on to a 10 inch piece of rope and the saddle is cheap plastic so you're sliding all over the place. Don't waste your $5 to just get thrown off in 2 seconds. -The crowd is a weird mix as the night goes on alcohol fails to make everyone more attractive. What makes this A ok ? Uncharacteristic dive bar in WWW Casino. I don't think they have any drinks over $3. Ridiculous specials. If you are ready to hit the clubs, stop by here first and get 6 drinks in lieu of your $12 cranberry juice with a splash of vodka in Harrah's pool party. Johnny U. is more or less right on the money about this place. The drinks are definitely cheap. My rums and cokes and beers didn't taste like anything, but hey it was someone else's treat. The lesson I've learned is to go with the shots. That's what I should've done. I didn't care much for the DJ, but there was a large crowd around 1030ish PM. One of the ladies in our group said she chose the place because it's a good pre-game spot. That much I understand, but otherwise I didn't like Mountain too much. I really didn't care to much for the drinks. The food was meh. But, the entertainment of the other customers that were in this bar really were great. They made the bar entertaining. Being a woman the dancers were not the entertainment for me but, there was a little short dude who stole the show. He had everyone alert and watching. This place is pretty bomb. When everywhere else is closed, Mountain Bar is still open (though they stop serving food when the next-door booth closes.) Cheap shots and beer pong and what? COUNTRY MUSIC? It actually spans a pretty big area. There's a bar with bar seating as well as a number of tables and TVs. There are also 4-5 beer pong tables. I guess it might've been because we went so late, but the crowd was strangely not-sketchy. I have visited the Mountain Bar several times, and I am definitely a fan. The place is always packed and I always get great service here. The drinks are the cheapest in AC with their $2 happy hour, and the theme is really cute. I don't eat the food here, because I'm pretty sure I'd regret it and there are only about 597 better places to eat in AC than the Mountain Bar. This place is for drinking, boy and girls, that's it. While most drinks in town start in the double digits, you can score a beer here for something like $2. They don't have a huge array of mixed drinks, as this is the type of place you go for no frills type stuff. But in my estimation, it's a great place to either begin or end your night of debauchery in AC. My only complaint is that is an awkward design...the bar is long and narrow so it is difficult to comfortably converge with friends. But these are the things one must endure for $2 beer! read more

Bally's Wild Wild West freaks me out with the animatronic looking people that decorate the casino so I didn't even want to go here in the first place. But by the time we wandered in from Caesar's at 5 am, I was just looking for a place to sit down and wind down. I'm not sure if a $2 shot and a $3 bottle of Corona is what you'd call winding down but that's what happened. As I looked around and realized how cheap the drinks were here, I kicked myself for not knowing sooner because this would have been my first stop. Though it was 5 am on a Thursday, the place was not as deserted as you'd think it would be (some lone rangers sitting at the bar, a group of sloppy young people finishing their night, a made up, dressed up 50-something year old woman that came over to us for some conversation). So somebody in Atlantic City was actually thinking for once, amazing! This is the type of stuff Atlantic City needs. Cheap drinks! Now I understand that you can get "free" drinks while gambling but they take forever, are weak, and sometimes I just want to go buy a cocktail and not pay ten bucks for it. You can do that here. Drinks are dirt cheap. $3 for a Beam and Coke, $2 beers, $2 shots of Red Stag and a bunch of other stuff all under $5. There is something for everyone. And this is really the only place to get it in AC without leaving the casinos or boardwalk and you really dont want to do that. Two tourists got robbed and stabbed to death, yes to death, right across the street from Ballys at 10 IN THE MORNING while I was here. And a cop witnessed it. If that doesnt persuade you to stay off the streets I dont know what will. There are a bunch of tvs and stuff playing sports. Apparently there are sexy cowgirls and an awesome midget sheriff on Fridays and Saturdays. The bartenders are generally cool and this is the only reason I didnt give five stars. I had a bartender on Sunday who was really kind of a jerk. And he showed it in his drinks. I'm not sure if he didnt like me or was just angry or what.. but he made my drinks really friggin weak. Dont think this was because of my tipping. I paid cash each round and tipped a dollar per drink on each drink I bought. Thats pretty damn decent on $2 shots and $3 drinks. Long story, short: I payed $16 for TWO Miller Lites. YIKES! My only complain is how easily they can mess up your tab. I've been here a few times, but yesterday this bartender Willie (name taken from my receipt) screw up big time. First, I order ONE Miller Lite, I gave him $10, never got the change back. He said "Oh honey, no! I don't do that". I let it go because it was my first beer of the night. For my second beer, I gave my card. I was generous and added $2 of tip, for a total of $4. Guess what? He then put in $4 tip and total was $6. Oh lord. Seriously? Yes, there is a lot of loud people (you are in AC, don't expect less). Frustrating night at Mountain Bar. It was a Tuesday night so not very busy. I was continually looked over by the two male bartenders, most likely because I'm a female who was with my girlfriend. When we tried to order what would be our last drink we were asked who our bartender was which was a little odd, but I get it you need to look for our tab, however we had 2 out of the 3 bartenders before that drink so I guess I didn't know you had to order with the same bartender. When we told him he came back and said he didn't see our card there. After saying please look again he found it... So we cashed out. Meanwhile we were drinking 3.25 drafts all night and there was a bottled Corona on the bill. No big deal anywhere else I would of said something but with them I felt serving me in the first place was a hassle to them so I declined telling them. Only reason I gave two stars was because they had good prices for drinks and the gaming floor wasn't crazy packed you could enjoy it. Mountair Bar is located in Bally's Casino in the area where Wild Wild West was located. They have made some nice updates to the bar over the years. It has become quite the hangout when it was once just an installation near some gaming tables. There are beer pong tables, basketball shoot and a mechanical bull for your entertainment. The DJ was really good with an overall mix of music. The bartenders were a mixed bunch. Some were easy to order from while other were less helpful. One negative was the excessive dancing on the bar by the "Mountain Dancers." Of course, I am a girl and am not too excited to see half naked ladies dancing on the bar but they really were not that great. They had their own music which interrupted the DJ flow and trolled around for tips after every half hour performance. I will definitely be back and hope the dancers will be a 1-2 times a night performance next time I come. read more

I've now raged at this place twice. It's quite a Jersey experience. The place gets f'ing ROWDY with degenerates. It's definitely a fun time though. They have big TVs everywhere with tons of sports on. They also have creepy DJs spinning Billboard Hits. The food here is a nightmare, but if you're blacked out, it will do. Service is fast, however I would recommend sticking to bottled beers. I had a few of their signature cocktails, which were disgusting. Cheap drinks! Went there on a Sunday night to watch the NBA finals and have some cheap drinks. The service was good and our waitress didn't seem to mind us just hanging out watching tv and drinking beer. She was fast and friendly. The only downside is that the bar doesn't serve food. You are able to walk next door and get wings and burgers and bring them back to your table at the bar. The table and chairs were sticky and gave me the 'icky' feeling. This is my favorite spot in AC. No matter what hotel I stay in, I always come here. The drinks and beers are cheap...not to mention that they don't close! On the nights they do not have a dj they have a good variety of music pumping out of the speakers. While all the bartenders take care of you, Tammy is definitely my favorite....Very attentive and just a great person to shoot the shit with!
