This place only carries Gordon's name and has menu that was designed by him. That's it. Everything else is horrible. On a busy Saturday night a table for 2 needed 60+ wait time, ok. I'll play first and eat later. Come back perfectly on time and what do I see? Couple that was still in the line when I made my reservation before them - was getting seated. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for the next table. After that it takes 19 minutes, yes I timed it, before server shows up at our table for the first time. I would have expected appetizers to be served at that duration. Later, I timed same thing for the neighboring table, still 14 minutes. I understand about being understaffed and overbooked. But in this case manager was present at the front and had not 2 but 3 greeter girls available. Why one or 2 of them did not convert to wait stuff? R just close half the tables. But no, we will keep running with a reduced service available. Guess what do I see next? Another busy server working exactly half the tables in my proximity who refuses to even stop by for a second. Nope, they each have their own tables and do not share tips - so he has absolutely no interest in helping those that are half a step away. And this is my favorite moment of the visit. By the 19 minute mark we both had made complete food decisions and were ready to go for beef Wellington. However, we learned from another visitor that dish is not cooked to order, but it's a conveyor. You might get that perfect serving or you might get completely cold undercooked meal that waited 30 minutes for you. Just get a steak, and order a custom readiness level: this way one will have to be next to it most of the cooking time. So, we get couple burgers with truffle fries and calamari. I'm looking for the menu section for English ale, and the only choice is Guinness. This is the moment where we should have left, but there would be not enough time to eat somewhere else decent. Calamari is ok, only ok. I was expecting something much better. I can easily take you to 3 places in central NJ that will give you best calamari of your life. Drinks came after app. So, even bartender is busy???? The truffle fries is the only start I'm giving this place in my review. But I guess that they come pre-seasoned in a frozen package, so it's hard to mess them up. Burger had a really good idea of combining pulled meat with your typical hamburger, and it would have been great it patty was cooked to order. I think mine was seating in a warm drawer for ages and then microwaved. Just good enough to eat. Overall this is the worst Gordon experience I've had, hint: try fish and chips place in Vegas. I will not be coming back even if some else is paying. Gordon, I would love to make you the best burger I can at home, then serve you some of the best ale and scotch money can get, and then we can drive to AC and shake up this place. PS. Manager was made aware of all troubles we had and yet did not made any attempt to play bullet out of you-know-what by offering round of drinks or cutting the bill in half. PPS. While I was in Atlantic City for a concert, I decided to dine at this place to try out the Beef Wellington that I saw many times on TV, which was Gordon's signature dish. We got a full course with Onion Soup, Beef Wellington, and truffle chocolate cake with ice cream. And ordered the signature Salmon dish. All the food was good; I had no complaints, as I saw in different reviews. Beef Wellington is good as I imagined it would be. I am not sure I would pay the same amount next time, but it was great for a one-time experience. And I fulfilled one of my checklists of trying one of Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes. Next time I am in Atlantic City, I might try the Hell's Kitchen place; I did not know it existed, or the steak place. Great Burger truly lives up to the name when it comes to flavor. The burgers were excellent... juicy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The bun fit perfectly. We also ordered fries and truffle fries (subbed instead of regular fries), and everything tasted fantastic. That said, the pricing gave me a little pause. About $75 for two burgers, truffle fries, and sodas felt steep, but honestly, the flavor helped justify it... at least a teeny bit. Later in the evening, we returned just for drinks and dessert, which were both solid. The espresso martinis were especially good (though at nearly $20 each, expectations are high), and we had more than a few. The only real downside was service during our second visit. When we let the staff know we weren't ordering food since we had already eaten earlier, our silverware and napkins were quickly cleared and our water glasses were taken as well. I had to request that water glasses stay and be filled, which felt awkward and honestly a bit dismissive, especially given the cost of the drinks we were ordering (4 of us). Overall, excellent food and drinks, but the service inconsistency took away from the experience. With more attentive hospitality, this would easily be a 5-star spot. Also presumably Gordon Ramsay himself hand picked every item on the menu, and that menu says "The Americans will eat it, and they will like it." I mean, as Americans, we all have this perception of Gordon, the world famous celebrity chef with the British accent (although born in Scotland), with all his shows and appearances. A rarity - a chef so famous he is a household name - that your 80-year old parents, one of which doesn't even watch TV, has gotten wind of him. Now I'm not saying Gordon is resting on his laurels here, well actually that's exactly what I'm saying. This never was supposed to be known for its food, I mean just look at the name - Pub & Grill, he didn't even bother putting that fancy "e" at the end of grill either, so he's really setting the tone early. Who knows, maybe it's a flex. I've seen some complete dumpsters refer to themselves as a "grille," so Gordon could be saying F-that fake pretentious "e," he doesn't need that stinkin' "e." He's gonna slap his name on something, stick it right in the middle of one of the most well-known casinos in Atlantic City, and by God, it's not just going to make money, it's going to make obscene amounts of money. I do want to point out the ramekins holding ketchup and tartar sauce for the fish and chips were metal, and anyone who knows me knows I have two favorite things when it comes to dining. One - those tiny jams and ketchup bottles. If I get toast and the jam comes out in this miniature jar with the ribbon and everything, I think to myself, wow, that's an owner who appreciates the little things. Also I take home the extras. They say, you know what? I COULD get those individual packets that has the tear-off seal like you see at every average diner, but my guests deserve the best, dammit. They shall have... tiny jars. Now that I think about it, we are allowed to take them, right? Like, they aren't going back and refilling each of those little jars, are they? And two, metal ramekins. Would I come back? Honestly no. Back in Caesar's, we had too visit to Ramsay's Pub & Grill. With friends who'd never been! We grabbed drinks at the bar, made by bartender Hummi, yummy Hummi and enjoyed Happy Hour specials. The British-themed decor created a lively vibe, perfect for a fun outing with friends. We changed our seating to be able to sit on the balcony over the casino. The restaurant quickly got lively, we were there before it opened. Then the eating commenced. Both the short rib nachos and garlic Parmesan wings had the mature difference in flavor that I want if I am going to a Gordon Ramsay Pub. I will dream of those nachos and will remember them as my favorite elevated nachos. The short rib was tender, the cheese was poured pretty well over the chips, and there were enough toppings for most chips which I greatly appreciate. The garlic Parmesan wings were different than any other American pub. These had more of a caramelized texture with a smoky flavor and fresh Parmesan. Six of us came on a Sunday night at 5pm at the end of a busy July 4 weekend. Maybe the staff was worn out and less attentive. Four of us had the 3 course prix fixe dinner. While the onion soup and sticky toffee pudding were great, the beef Wellington was not. We moved to a table for our main course and didn't have the best interaction with our waiter, Guillermo. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, a comfort dish done nicely. The $$ Idiot Burger (yes, thats the name) was juicy, flavorful meat topped with Gruyère, a crimini mushroom mix, and a spicy tomato chutney. The truffle fries on the side were alright. My cousin had the Shepherd's Pie, which she found hearty and "ok". We went late in the evening and the place was not very busy. We enjoyed the vibe and energy of the space. The decor was relaxed and visually appealing. I liked the wide comfortable chairs and service. They even had a live band playing, which added a nice touch when they briefly performed. Shoutout to the friendly staff (Luis/Elvis) who made the experience even better. It's a midsized restaurant with a few different seating options, the waitstaff were friendly and prompt. The menu wasn't huge but it offered slightly upscale pub grub with a heafty price tags. You can use your Ceaser's rewards as currency here as well. It's like Chucky Cheese tickets but for degenerate gamblers. Writing Couldn't wait to try the famous Gordon Ramsay fish and chips. Thought I was about to have a spiritual culinary awakening. Instead, I got assaulted by a cardboard box full of betrayal. First red flag: a $12 service charge for TAKEOUT. But hey, it's HELL'S KITCHEN, right? Surely Gordon himself hand-breaded this fish while screaming motivational insults at the fryer. We get back to the room, full of excitement. Open the box... and immediately entered the five stages of grief. The fish was so overcooked it identified as dry chicken breast. The breading had absorbed so much old grease it could probably power a small cruise ship. The shrimp? I've seen larger life forms in aquarium gravel. It was basically one microscopic shrimp wearing an oversized grease sweater. Long John Silver's would've looked at this meal and said, "Damn, that's rough." And the fries? SIX fries in one box. FIVE in the other. I've gotten more potatoes accidentally stuck in the bottom of a McDonald's bag. The single fry tasted like it had been baptized in 3-week-old fryer oil. Honestly, I started wondering if takeout customers are part of some social experiment. Like maybe dine-in guests get actual food while takeout orders get whatever lost a fight with the grease trap. We brought it back downstairs and discreetly explained the issue to the manager. He smiled and immediately refunded us with zero questions asked -- which somehow made it worse because it felt like, "Yeah... we know." Not even an apology.
