I also discovered that the technician moved my security camera from the window to a table without asking. This was captured on my security footage. When I raised these concerns with management, I felt they were dismissed. The manager told me he believed the technician's account over mine despite the video I provided. I also informed him that I intended to leave an online review. During our conversation, he responded by saying, "I'll sue you for defamation." And, " I can't wait to see everyone on Reddit laugh at you" That response made me question whether customers feel comfortable leaving honest negative reviews after receiving that kind of warning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I encourage anyone hiring these contractors to have security cameras and to document the condition of their home before and after service. In my opinion, moving a customer's security camera without permission is a serious security concern. Xcel's website has a list of companies you should use I'll provide a list below. Again, they took care of all the paperwork with Xcel. The system has been working without flaw since and saving us tons of money in this inflated energy cost environment. David called me immediately back -- the other two companies never even called me back. David was doing a remote job down in the San Luis Valley, but called me on his way back and had me do a series of more advanced steps to get it on. Those measures didn't work either, so he came over the next week to look at it himself. He found my inverter was dead. He ordered a new one for free because the system was still under warranty. The inverter showed up a couple days later. David came back and installed it. His rates were more than fair. But it was his empathy and truly good nature that impressed me the most. Contacted Red Oak in November of 2025 for a roof replacement and siding work. However - their progress was slow, above and beyond the insurance issues. I would have to poke and prod them to follow up. Even then, I stuck with them, even if it took until June 2026 for them to actually schedule the work on the roof. They took the downpayment for supplies and then.... NOTHING. After a few weeks, with NO call, text or email, a team delivered the materials but despite 6 separate contact attempts (two texts, two emails, two phone calls) I heard nothing for over a month. I'm now stuck with repairs delayed by six months, rainy weather, having to find a NEW roofer who will have to redo the arguments with insurance, and having to require my funds and get their materials off my property. Honestly, I'm expecting I'll need a lawyer before long. I'm giving them two stars despite my frustrations because I suspect they've had something or someone collapse internally.
