Holy shiz. On the river writing a review! I'm a hard core yelper, that's fo sho. We pulled up to this campgrounds, set up shop under a tree with our friends--ten other tents-- and walked down to the water. Live DJ playing amazing tunes, beach volley ball, restrooms, showers, onsite eats, shuttles to the river, bars ... no worries here. Just no dogs!

We just went here this past weekend. It's very clean & the staff here are very friendly. The campsites near the river are way over crowded but if you have friends and family who can go with you. Then it could be cool. I don't think I would want to camp tent to tent though. I don't want to be that close to complete strangers, sorry just not my thing. We knew going on the morning of our camping day would make it hard to find a camp site, but fortunately there was still space available. We found a nice spot under a tree in a corner near everything. The restrooms were clean and that is a big plus!! They also had a few random port-a-potty's on the property. I didn't use those though...lol The campsites did not have barbecue pits but luckily we took our own. So be prepared. They have a little cafe, bar and food truck that sells snow cones and corn. Nice people. The tube shuttle was very good about going and picking up tubers, we never had to wait. The 4 hour float was a bit much but we enjoyed it. The float from up top to MB is way better. It's only a 2-3 hour, with a few more rapids and nicer scenery. They have volleyball nets and horse shoe sandboxes. All in all, we would go again. Not bad at all for $15 a person to camp.

The place rules. Anytime I float the Guadalupe River this has been my go-to camping spot for over 10 years now. I usually go during the week when it's less crowded, but it's also super fun on the weekends. The staff is super friendly & helpful, and they keep the bathrooms as clean as physically possible.

We loved this campsite! It's convenient and affordable. Three of my girlfriends and I went for one night on a spontaneous trip & had a blast. We got a nice spot in the overflow lot. John is one of the drivers and his wife works the bar. They're awesome. John drove us & carried our huge cooler all the way down to the river for us. There is a restaurant and bar which had live music too. We went to the restaurant after the float and grubbed on frito pie and cheeseburgers. Highly recommend this site!

The river is great but there are many better places to stay!

One star is pushing it. Totally gross, neglected, nasty bathrooms. Typical tent city on the Guad. Pack em in as close as you can! It is now 2:20am and they are still playing some suck Karaoke crap mixed in with decent music which was cool until about 1am. I can only figure they are still playing something I mean anything, trying to keep around 10 people drinking so they can sell more crappy beer. The cabin sucks and the a/c isn't doing shit & it's only in the high 60s, I feel bad for people who try to stay here in the summer and I am a frequent tent camper! This is super sub par for the price. Gypsy River is a nicer place for sure they even have a cool vintage boutique and I'm pretty sure any of the others on further down are too, 2nd crossing campground was very clean, thanks to some new friends we went there to shower!

They have an air conditioned portable bathroom trailer that is decent. 6 stalls in the women's room and they were fairly clean. For a moment, it took me back to feeling like we were on a school field trip. We definitely see ourselves coming back but at least bringing our own floats for our coolers to cut down on the expense. We had a large group with 2 coolers so it was $50 just to bring our coolers along.

They do have a decent size portable bathroom, which was nice. My only complaint is that they should keep the water on inside them a little longer. We got back to the beginning around 4:30 and went to use the bathroom before heading out, but the water was already turned off. The float itself was actually painful. There are SO many rocks that you constantly hit and scrape your rear end against, and it gets pretty uncomfortable after a while. I'm not sure if I'll be back to this location just because this particular section was so rocky. Overall, it was fun, but definitely bring some extra money and be prepared for a rocky ride!

According to Curt C, this page is based on the first chute at Prince Solms Park. I went through 3 chutes during the entire tubing experience. The first chute is still on the park ground. That was really fun, if you are a swimmer. I have seen people tumbling down into the river at the end. I watched few TikTok videos the day before going tubing. I know not to tie with other tubers. Because it will automatically tumble down and flip the tubes with whomever is on it. Since this was my first tubing experience, I didn't document the location of each chute. The first and second ones were approximately 5 minutes apart. The 3rd chute was so minor, there wasn't anything spectacular about it. After seeing a bridge, the final public exit was ahead. I paddled hard because my friend got motion sickness, we had to end the trip as quickly as possible. The whole excursion lasted less than 2 hours. My belly and knees were sunburnt like a lobster, even with layers of sunscreen. If you asked me, yeah, I would do it again.

Bring your own tube and shuttle costs $15. Lockers are $5 for small and $10 for large and you have to wait for the staff so make sure you put everything in or take everything out in one go, ideally. Takes a while to buy individual tubes with the waiver so I'd buy your whole group at once if possible. There are small restrooms that are expectedly dirty for people floating the river. Most of the tubes were fine, somewhat dirty but got the floating job done. Lastly, this is unrelated to Lions Club, but it's about 25% of the people that actually follow the can ban and 75% probably aren't while we were there. Honestly ridiculous - just go buy a 64oz Igloo at Academy, it's $15. The tube rental is literally more expensive. We came with two Igloos a pop (one for water) and an extra tube for coolers. It's ridiculous that they have people kayaking picking up litter. Do better, folks.
