Hotdog (9/10): Small, but very good. Cheeseburger (7/10):…read moreThe cheese and buns were pretty nice. The patty had a bit of a beefy aftertaste. Pretty decent, especially for the price. Onion Rings (10/10): These are actually perfect onion rings. Don't know how it could get better than this. Perfectly crispy, and the onion bites cleanly through. Fries (5/10): Fries, on the other hand, were average. Everything on the menu is really cheap. I feel like the burgers are the best deal. The hot dogs are worth trying, though. You must order the onion rings!

Love this little place. Been here a few times before…read more I try to stop in every time I visit the MOCA. It's cheap, yummy and zero pretense. Initial impression can be a bit dodgy because it's super old and worn, but it really grows on you. Tiny menu but perfect for a quick old-school snack of burgers/dogs/fries. And the hard working staff is super welcoming. I usually sit right next to the door that opens/closes nonstop but I never mind. I always find myself saying "hi" to literally every stranger that walks in. It just ooozes with that increasingly rare "locals only" vibe I love so much. After half an hour sitting at the counter I start to feel like and honorary local. It reminds me of the Tasty in Harvard square I used to hang out at late night. And the total lack of posturing is a welcome and refreshing change from the fine dining world I tend to gravitate toward. A hot lunch for under $10 - WINNING! Pickup a big "Jacks hotdogs" sticker for your car- they're super cool!

AbsoluYe Olde Forge was a great find. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and while it may…read morelook like a roadside stop, it is absolutely worth the detour. The onion bites were a fantastic alternative to onion rings and dangerously easy to keep eating. The beer list reads like a who's who of great choices, and the wings were excellent, possibly the best I've had in recent memory. The buffalo sauce was especially well done, with just enough heat to know it is there, but still approachable even for someone who does not usually go for spice. The real highlight, though, was Joyce. She absolutely personified great customer service. Friendly, attentive, thoughtful, and on top of everything without ever overdoing it. Honestly, the level of care she gave rivaled service at a five-star resort. I wish Joyce could follow me around to every meal I have. She was that good. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly standout service. We will definitely be back.

Been driving past for six years and finally stopped. Let me stress, we arrived at 5 PM…read more Extensive selection of beers, including over 20 on tap. We are ordered the double dip, Buffalo chicken and spinach artichoke. It took over twenty minutes for the dips, even tho the place was half empty. We had a feeling the entrees would arrive shortly and we were right. Halfway thru the dips the entrees arrived. Chicken piccata was bland, and the pasta was overcooked. The sauce was watery and there was only a slight taste of lemon. Not at all what it should have been. Haddock was obviously fresh, but again, bland. Served in a bath of butter, but no herbs, no discernible seasoning. Services was attentive, beers were cold, if somewhat overpriced. Don't know that I'll be back.
