Back in mid January I found myself in the position of needing to replace my wall oven/ microwave. Fortunately I went to Mountain High Appliances where Britta McDonald helped me narrow my options down to a manageable list And assisted me with my purchase. Unfortunately I selected an option that was out of stock and was being replaced with a new model, making it necessary to wait unusually long for delivery. Britta was wonderful in keeping me informed as to delivery progress. Once it was delivered I once again had the misfortune of it being a lemon. Britta was diligent in helping me work with the manufacturer by quickly arranging for repair service, and eventually ended up assisting me with a unit replacement. With her guidance, I eventually selected a different model and brand and am very pleased. The issues I incurred were all related to the manufacturer, which generally is well respected, Britta and Mountain High Appliances most certainly went above and beyond to help me resolve the issues. I cannot ever recommend Mountain High Appliance. We ordered a high-end refrigerator and it took 3 separate installation visits to finally get it installed. They showed up with damaged parts; then 2 weeks later without necessary screws; finally another 1.5 weeks later they had what they needed. On top of that, they ordered the refrigeration parts shipped to our HOME address, not their site. I received at least 10 phone calls from the shipper and one nasty letter saying they were charging me for parts storage. I called Mountain High, and they said they were addressing the issue which they finally did but not in a timely manner. Then, the customer service manager assured me he would give us some compensation for our inconvenience. He has never followed up even after I have left two messages asking for him to call me. I generally don't write unfavorable reviews, but this was so extreme that I felt it was necessary. read more

Prices are almost normal retail at their clearance center. Lady at desk could not even get up to greet me yelled from her desk. Never got up. Clearly going through the motions not interested in my needs. Next guy comes buy can I help you find something, I respond no thanks and they disappear. I really would not go any place else for my appliances. At different times I bought a refrigerator and a range. Lori at Mountain high really listens to what your needs are and suggests products that are on target. It is just a pleasant low stress process. I also really like that their installation team are employees of Mountain High and not subcontractors. They have a staff who can help make sure the product will fit right the first time and they made the modifications to the space to get the placement correct. I had purchased a range from Mountain High a decade ago, so returned expecting more of the same. That was not the result. I ordered a range along with the matching over-the-range microwave and paid to have my old equipment moved over to my neighbor's house. The microwave was installed such that it blocked the cabinet from opening, so we had no access to the largest cabinet in our kitchen. The oven was installed several inches from the wall because the gas line was in the wrong place. Nobody mentioned that until I asked why there was a large gap. For the two pieces that were installed in my neighbor's house, the range had the same issue with the gas line, and the microwave somehow got dented during installation. We paid a handyman to come reinstall the oven so that we can open the cabinet but I'm frustrated that we needed to do that. The comment from the handyman was that the Mountain High installers definitely were not pros, and from what I see, I don't think he was wrong. By comparison, when we bought a fridge from Specialty, they warned us that if the outlet was in the wrong place, there would be an additional charge to move it, but they would have appropriate staff ready to go. Mountain High mentioned nothing about the gas line or the cabinet positioning, rather just installed equipment so that we would need to pay others to come back and fix it. I contacted our sales rep on Saturday who said he emailed their installation team, but as of end of day Tuesday, still have no response. read more

I stopped by yesterday to shop for a 36" Range and when I walked in, it appeared that several sales people were standing around near the front desk of the store. I told them I was looking for a 36" Range and they asked me if I was working with a sales person. I answered "No" and that was that...no one asked me if they could help me. I found it interesting that there were more sales people in the store than customers and I guess I didn't fit the customer profile to pay attention to.....big mistake as "Pretty Woman" would say.
