You get what you pay for at the big box stores and I had a less than positive experience with a chain appliance store a couple of years ago. So I went to Mountain High Appliance, a CO owned and operated business. Robert was the sales person who greeted and helped me, even though I discovered upon my arrival that I had forgotten my credit card at home. I told him what my preferences were and, out of their large selection, he guided me to the Speed Queens. They are more expensive than other brands, but also more reliable and made in the USA. He helped me to make my purchase even without my credit card in hand. Later in the day Robert called to let me know that the dryer I wanted was backordered by Speed Queen but he made it possible for me to purchase the floor models of the set I had chosen. Throughout the process Robert was helpful, knowledgable and timely with his communications. Mountain HIgh's delivery staff is not contracted out , so delivery service is so much better than any other place I have experienced! No dinging up entry ways or walls! And they ran tests on both machines to make sure they were working before they left! By far my best experience buying appliances from beginning to end! The old adage applies: you get what you pay for! And I didn't find them that much more than the big box stores.

The big box stores now contract out all services, so you don't have any idea who you are getting. The 3rd party service team came out, installed the dishwasher, turned it on & left. After it ran, we discovered the dishwasher door was broken. I called the third party who told me to call the big box store. Big box company said to call the third party, as they had no idea what happened. After multiple calls, I was so frustrated I told the company I wanted to return the product. They come out, de-install it & break one of the water pipes in the process. Now I'm out another $500 for plumbing services to fix what they broke. Mountain High saved the day. They hung up on my husband when he called (again) to ask for repair info. We waited for over a week for a call back on what needed to be repaired on our appliance. We left voicemails and emailed over a week's time. They sold us a 5 year warranty on 4 kitchen appliances for almost $1000, (I won't do that again) and the warranty company is just as awful. It took four months of back and forth and then they rejected the claim. Those beautiful GE Cafe dishwashers will crack on the bottom corners of the door from simply opening and closing it, and the main control board failed after two and a half years. Arvada Appliance needs some customer service training. Sadly, their Christian hold music makes Christianity look bad; it's not. So maddening. So disappointing. So sick of trying to deal with them.

They stock everything, they have a lot of employees and I am literally always helped when I walk in and am looking around - someone helpful always asks if they can help me find something. Recently, we got our new front door from here and there was a mix up on the order. The manager Kayla totally made it right and we are so appreciative and happy with our new front door! He already caulked the countertop knowing it wasn't level even without notifying me in the next room. He said the countertop was level, which it was, but the shive was laying right there from the previous countertop to make it level to the mirror. They REFUSE to fix the problem. 1 OUT OF 5 STARS…read more WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM APPLIANCE FACTORY IN WESTMINSTER! My experience with Appliance Factory at 5880 W. 88th Ave. #1 in Westminster was a complete nightmare. Before purchasing my refrigerator, Mike in floor sales assured me that the water line and refrigerator would be installed. I also purchased the recommended $30 metal water line. However, when the installers arrived, they said they would not touch the existing adapter. During the installation, the plumbing connection was damaged, and they left my home with the main water valve shut off. I had to call an emergency plumber just to restore water to my home. The repairs have already cost me $631, and I have received an additional estimate of approximately $590 to replace the water hookup box--before accounting for new drywall and the water damage in my kitchen and basement. When I called the store for help, Jordan told me the installers were a third-party company and claimed the store had no way to contact them by phone. Instead of helping resolve this emergency, Jordan yelled at me during the call. Both Jordan and Mike dismissed my concerns, described themselves as "lowly salesmen," and said they had no emergency or corporate contact information available. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer care has been appalling. Appliance Factory accepted my money and arranged the installation, but when serious damage occurred, the Westminster store offered no meaningful assistance. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. Based on my experience, customers should understand that if something goes wrong during installation, they may be left dealing with the damage, repair bills, and stress on their own. I am requesting full reimbursement for the plumbing repairs and all related damage caused during this installation.
