Lisa, Sandra, and Maria at the front desk were so kind, patient, and approachable--they immediately made me feel welcome instead of judged or rushed. And Karen, the hygienist, was absolutely amazing! She was so gentle, understanding, and took the time to explain everything she was doing in a calm, reassuring way. Extremely happy and satisfied with my first visit here! I'm the type of person who's always scared to go the dentist and postpone it as much as I could but they definitely made a great impression on me! Both receptionists were kind, Sandra checked me in pretty quickly and Lisa checked me out and informed me any additional information I may need. I didn't need to fill out anything in-person due to the fact that they sent me a link to fill out my documents at home. Jeanette, the dental hygienist, was very gentle and encouraged me to speak up whenever I felt pain or discomfort. She was very informative as well about the whole exam and this was very helpful as I was nervous because I haven't visited the dentist in a long time. Doctor Arora was very thorough in her examination and assured me of any questions and concerns I may have had. I expressed a concern about an aching tooth that I've been having on and off and she did not hesitate and took my concerns seriously and did a double x-ray to get a better look at my tooth. Review long due. We lived in Mountain House for 6 years since 2004. Very happy when we finally had a local dentist. Started going to this practice because of convenience. As opposed to some other reviews, our experience with Dr. Puzlacher has been always extremely positive. (1) she never ever tried to oversell a procedure or a service (2) she came to my rescue a couple of times in particular when I broke a front tooth that she was able to reattach just in time for our vacation to Europe. As for the hygienists, we found a few differences in their approaches. However, the doctor would always come at the end of the cleaning process to double check. Last comment: we moved since 2010 and live about 35 minutes from this practice yet although we have other options we continue going there. read more

This review is long overdue. I started coming here about a year ago and really liked the way they take their time to clean my teeth and explain everything to me in detail. Fast forward a year later and my teeth have become so sensitive! The team here is amazing at documenting what works for me and also being really gentle. I just had 2 cavities done and wow they were so gentle with me and even offer headphones and a movie to help easy with the anxiety. I feel so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood! The dentist is absolutely amazing, listening to my concerns and questions attentively, and responding with helpful answers and advice. I've been a patient here for years. The staff/hygienists/receptionists are all so sweet, and it is truly a family here. My hygienist Hillary remembers me every time and we just chat away while she polishes my teeth. Everybody remembers you and remembers your family... The hygienists are all so sweet, chipper, and friendly. It doesn't feel sterile and scary like the dentist offices I went to as a kid. This place feels warm and like you're friends with everyone there. The dentist herself, Dr. Putzlacher, is amazing. I have had a few cavities and every time she gives me a filling or when she fixed my chipped tooth she does everything to make sure I am comfortable. She is very gentle and kind and always makes sure her patients feel comfortable and painless. Mouths are a very vulnerable body part and I feel very safe and weightless in Dr. Putzlacher's office. This is by far the best dentists office I have visited my entire life. The staffs are super friendly and always help you the best they can. In every visits, I have felt that the doctor is warm and always very attentive and shows empathy. However, Specifically in todays visit, my sugar dropped and the staff was very helpful and they offered me the glucose gel to stabilize the sugar. Not only that in todays deep cleaning visit, it was a super hot day outside but it was kind of cold inside. The doctor was so kind to offer me a warm blanket! I had a very rough day today! Running errands, chores,work, kids, I barely got time to take care of myself and I was feeling crappy all day. Very unprofessional,zero transparency. Being 90% covered from insurance they always charged us double the price also no clear communication about your treatment plan.Never had satisfaction for the treatment they provided and the money they are billing for it. As I read many 1 star reviews in this forum , I totally agree with them. This dental discovered cavities and they never showed any photo/ X-ray of these cavities. I found very fishy about it. Yes this office is clean and the front office staff is very pleasant and nice BUT the everything else is a joke! The actual dentist, the owner, isabela Putzlacher, is not only a liar when it comes to what is wrong with your teeth, but is extremely radical! Thank goodness I refused all work and went for a second opinion or I would have been out thousands of dollars between the work she wanted to do on me, my daughter and my husband! I will be reporting this office to my insurance company and encouraging them to drop this office from their provider list. I urge you all to be aware of costs before you approve any major procedures especially something that seems radical and something that doesn't seem right! Last week I had a major pain in my tooth. Based on the pain, I knew I could not wait to be seen. As we are fairly new to the area, I took a chance and reached out to Mountain House Dental. The staff was super accommodating and were able to get me in that day. Let me say that with any dental work, it gives me severe anxiety. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the most kind and engaging young lady at the front desk. I forgot her name, but she deserves a 5 star review, herself! We talked about my anxiety and she had me laughing and calm within no time. My experience here was fantastic from walking in, to getting in and out of the chair. Dr. Puzlacher is a professional. I've been going here for years and I've never written a review because I never thought to write a review about a dental appointment of all things. But after today... I was so happy with my teeth cleaning. I'm always happy with my teeth cleaning. They are gentle and they do a phenomenal job. I'm very picky about the slightest stain or mark on my teeth and they always go the extra mile because they've gotten to know me well :-) The doctors concern is always the health of the teeth, but they don't mind that I also care about the cosmetic look of the teeth. I also have a hard time with the medicine in the numbing shot and they adjust it so it doesn't give me heart palpitations! They are very nice, very clean, very organized. The front desk ladies are very pleasant and the doctor of course is very professional and patient with my questions. I never feel rushed to do the work, she gives me her recommendation and allows me to decide if and when. I've never felt her use scare tactics as some of these reviews suggest. I just needed to say AGAIN how great this place is! After my experience today I want to shout it from the roof tops! I went in thinking I chipped my tooth and the doc took a look and assured me that it must have been something else because my tooth was fine. I was due for a cleaning and was taking my 4 year old for hers later in the day so they asked if I wanted to get mine done at the same time since we'd both be there and I generally have a busy schedule.During my cleaning with Hilary, Vickie took my daughter to the room next to me and worked on her and kept her happy if you can't believe that. Five minutes in to my cleaning I got sick and had to stop, Hilary was incredibly understanding and caring. While I was on the break she went to check on my daughter, when I was finished she asked me if I wanted to keep going and completed my cleaning like a CHAMPION! Love this office... Outstanding... caring and thoughtful people! Ask for Dr. Putzlacher, Kelly or Hilary (Hygienists), Carina and Vickie (assistants). I've lived in Mountain House since 2008 and love supporting our local businesses. So when it was time to find a new dentist a few years ago, I gave them a chance. The first couple visits were fine. Nothing special. One time I had a truly sub-par hygienist and one time I had an amazing one. Other than that, nothing special with the dentist, office, staff, cleanings, etc. During this time I did hear multiple negative stories from others, but I wasn't personally experiencing anything that they mentioned, so I kept going. But then...during my last visit in 2016, the dentist diagnosed a cavity and I was highly skeptical. The methods she used to diagnosis it seemed odd. However, it was my first cavity and I tried not to be too skeptical. But remember how I said that I had heard negative stories about this place? Yeah, every single one of those stories was that a cavity was discovered, the person went to another dentist, and was told that they definitely do not have a cavity. These are all people I know personally and trust, not stories I read on Facebook or likewise. So, I made an appointment with another dentist in Tracy. Tracy Orchard. Talk about a great office! Front staff, assistant, dentist, everything...just fantastic, the whole thing. I need a write a 5 star review for them, now that I think about it. Oh hey and guess what? No cavity. Nope. None. The technician and the dentist took their time really making sure, and there is definitely no cavity on that tooth or anywhere else in my mouth. At least I found my new dentist! But please, please don't trust Mountain House Dental. I know the rent's ridiculously high out here, but that's really no excuse. Who knows how many people out here have unnecessary fillings at this point. read more

My family of 6 has been going to Mountain House Dental since 2009 so between all of us getting regular check ups we have someone in there about once a month. I have had to have a few fillings done and she is keeping her eye on a crown that has to be redone but she is not rushing me into it as some other reviews have commented. In all my time there I have not seen the rude blonde pierced girl that someone else commented on. Her staff is always very courteous and helpful. My kids have seen her since they were little (the youngest was 2 or 3) and have never been afraid of going to the dentist. I highly recommend Mountain House Dental! read more

Dr. Putzlacher really takes the time to identify the problem, cares immensely about the comfort of her patients which I feel is the most important considering how sensitive the mouth is. This is my experience with the office. I went to have my teeth cleaned and was happy that I could go close to my house. I was in the office for 2 hours and in this time they took many pictures of my teeth using a little camera. Once my cleaning was done, the male doctor (can't remember his name) came and sat down and told me they needed to talk to me about a treatment plan. They proceeded to show me several "cavities" as well as indicate that most of my current fillings needed to be replaced. Also they suggested some cosmetic work as well. I left there and didn't feel right about my treatment plan which would put me out of pocket $1200. The doctor made it seem like I really needed all this work immediately. I ended up canceling my 4 appointments for the work because I really had a bad feeling. Today, I went to my dentist in San Jose where I had been going for over 10 years (mind you this is almost 8 months after I went to MH Dental) and was told I have zero cavities, all my fillings are perfectly fine and I need zero work done. I'm disappointed in the integrity of this office. I get that rent is high in that building and they have to pay for the high tech equipment but don't scam my insurance and try to perform unnecessary work on me. This is my experience: I made an appointment because this place was close to my house, I had my teeth cleaned, X-Ray and done the first check up, all was fine, not too crazy about the dentist because she seem rushed, front desk gave me a paper for "proposed treatment plan - 2 fillings", so I made another appointment to come back and have the 2 fillings done. Went home, I thought, well that's strange, how come they didn't do the periodontal probe to measure pocket depths? All my past dentists did it on first check up. On my second Appointment, all was fine at first until they told me the visit will involve 3 fillings instead of 2 as indicated by the proposal, I was already on the chair when they informed me of the new plan, can't remember was I given the numbing shot or not yet. Being me, I am very bad at standing up for myself, so I didn't ask. After my fillings done, I was told I need to come back and replace 2 crowns, but no one tells me the reason. I asked for estimate on my way out, but the front desk would not give me a copy of estimate. That caused a red light to go off in my head, so I didn't make the third appt. Now is where the problems started, first week after the filling, my gum was in pain and bleeding, having white patches that look like blisters, and ever since that day the third filling that was not supposed to be done (there was no problem with the teeth, just some gap between gum and teeth) was hurting bad and I still am not able to use my teeth. I went back 2 weeks later, told them my teeth hurts, the dentist checked and said she could't find the problem. Long story short, I went to another dentist to get a second option after 6 weeks of pain, they did some tests and concluded that my nerve got greatly damaged, I now have to do a root carnal. On top of that, the 2nd dentist said other 2 crowns does not need to be replace. Like this was not enough, I called my insurance and found out that they received from my insurance the 90% coverage but charged me nearly double the price of what I should have paid, I went back to get it sorted out and now am waiting to get my refund. The only good thing I can say about this place, is the young lady Michelle who works at front desk in the mornings, she was extremely nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about other front desk receptionists I encountered. My only suggestion is that customers be aware of their own insurance coverage and insist on having the jobs to be done clearly explained with no deviations. read more

After having a root canal done, my wife highly recommended Dr. Putzlacher to me, and so I went there to have my regular checkup. (After not having one in almost 4 years, of course. Oops!) I was thoroughly impressed. The office is clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, very helpful, and sends you appointment reminders by mail and calls you the day before to confirm your appointment, which is something I appreciate. They put your comfort and piece of mind as their priority, and have always made me feel welcome and relaxed while being professional and courteous. They will also work with you if you need to make payments. Dr. Putzlacher always explains what she's doing, and why she does it - not something you find in a lot of dentists! She is very open and honest with her patients, showing you the x-rays and explaining the work that would need to be done. She also manages any potential pain very well. I needed a deep cleaning, and had heard some horror stories about the procedure, but Dr. Putzlacher was reassuring and not only told me to let her know if I was feeling pain, but periodically asked me how I was feeling and if I was okay. It is so weird to not feel pain after a procedure, but for once in my life, I don't have that dull throbbing ache after the visit - not even the morning after! Dr. Isabel is one of the best dentist that I ever have! All the office assistants are so nice as well! They have a call list that you can put in your name, and they would call you if any cancellation so that you can have your appt sooner! Staffs there are super nice too! I was surprised that one of the assistant Rebecca remember my name after several months! You will be greet with nice staffs all the time in that office! The waiting area are clean, they have a TV and magazines to kill your wait time! However, I never need to wait for my appt long after I get there! And Dr. Isabel is so nice and patience! She is also sensitive to her patient during the procedures! She cares her patient so much! She checks on you often during the procedures! Her work is so good that I even fall asleep and didn't feel anything for the entire procedures! She won't ask you to do unnecessary procedures as my previous office told me that I have 18 cavities and needed deep cleaning! But Dr. Isabel denied all that and not even deep clean for me! I used to have toothache occasionally but never have any toothache after seeing Dr. Isabel! I will definitely recommend this office to anyone! My family and have been going here for 10 years. I'm not sure I would ever rate a dentist as a 5-star experience. But we've been happy. Contrary to a few negative reviews, I've never found them to push unnecessary services. I've had her "watching" a small cavity on the x-rays for years and Dr Putzlacher always just says we'll continue to keep an eye on it. She is also not alarmist about the depths of my gun pockets- never tried to push anything radical, always just wait and see, and they seem to be pretty stable, so no big deal. I've been fortunate to usually see the same hygenist (Kelly) every time for years. The staff has done a nice job with my kids, very patient and gentle. I've never had a problem with billing different than what was proposed. Overall I'm very happy with this office. read more
