Just 2 years ago I would have given this place 5 stars. Not anymore. I am feeling like I am in a prison camp. They have just a few 50 amps, which normally we have two spaces that we like. But you have to get here between Tuesday and Wednesday, or it is hard to find a 50 amp. Well now they have made it more difficult! They now have designated spots for Cable. And if you park in a cable location, you have to pay $3 a day. WTH. So now we are even more limited to a site. We already pay around $160 a quarter for "upkeep" fees. Now I have to be aware of 50 amp without cable. Why not just have the ranger check ???? We are not happy campers. If it wasn't that we use ROD every year, I would sell my membership. And this use to be my favorite park. SAD read more

We did a mid week camping and fishing here this week and we all had a blast! Did our last camping for the season with our friends. We enjoyed our stay specially our little ones. Caught cat fish too and walked around the whole resort to see what they have to offer. The cabins are clean with silverwares and pots ready. Cool AC for the summer heat with stove oven and microwave too. The creek is a must see and we had a half day picnic there. It was soooo relaxing. Thanks to Joanne for accommodating us and for this chance to enjoy the experience. Highly recommended. read more

Nice place to relax go fishing camp out but I repeat I repeat make sure you buy everything you need down the hill because it got to expensive a 24oz modelo a small bag of peanuts and mosquitoe spray was $35 dollars so yeah first fishing license and now the market is ridiculous I guess there trying to get there money back for that water park but yeah buy your essentials down the hill read more

I always have a cozy and relaxed experience at Mountain Lakes. I've been visiting the resort since 2018 and have nothing but good memories here with my family. My family's favorite event is when they have live wrestling during Memorial day weekend and Labor day. Halloween is celebrated every weekend in October. Sold as Family style facility but in reality you can't bring your family here because they charge you $25 per car/per day. $30 to fish for small/average size fish. If you buy, hopefully you only have one family member or friend so they can enjoy with you. read more

You cannot lock everything up. It is a fire hazard, and you want people to buy your overpriced drinks. People pay their dues and are told they cannot drink water at the pool because you want to charge an arm and a leg for a water bottle, so you lock the gates and restrooms. Went there as a guest for Easter weekend. I gotta say that I really enjoyed it. Too bad the sales guy wasn't really good at selling it to us or tailoring a package that would specifically interest our demographic. With that said let's try to say some positive things. We had the best seats in the house on lot 185 right next to the water. I guess we got lucky. It's nice to just pull up about an hour away and just let the kids roam wild in a place that I would consider very family friendly, safe, and peaceful. They screen everything, almost too much, but that really ads to the safety. You really feel safe there. We fished a bit and explored the resort in depth. I would definitely want to come. Regularly but being just a weekend warrior with only a handful of times I would use, it just doesn't make sense to drop $9k, or even $12k for a lifetime membership. Anyone can do the math and it just doesn't make sense. So there we go as much as I would recommend this place to anyone, it's off to campland and all the other places we can roam and rotate each seasons we head out and explore Mother Nature. I hope hey change their mind and offer other types of products that are more in tune with our demographic. read more

Cost/Benefit Analysis: Acceptable value for cost. All hook-ups were 30 amps. Though largely level, site substrate was not cement --just dust and gravel. The surrounding ecology was beautiful! It would seem that year-round runoff feeds these fishing ponds. This facility offers no pull-through RV sites. Very few sites at this facility could readily accommodate a 30 foot trailer. Although reservations were billed as "full hook-ups," all coaxial cable fittings were male--and should have been female for a standard hook-up (they thoughtfully provided the option of couplers for sale, however). On-site food, though good, was very pricey. We were offered a private campground membership for $10,000-nope. Cost/Benefit Analysis: Acceptable value for cost. read more

So this time I decided to try mountain lakes one more time. Alot has changed since last summer. Here's the pro's They upgraded the family center somewhat in terms of having a better air hockey table and adding some games. I just wish they added a little bit more. They upgraded the paddleboats and hours. The kids jungle gym area is the same still. They got new park rangers and were really helpful. I can't say much on adult center or the pool area as I did not go. They moved the basketball court to the splash pad area. They know allow you to bring more then 2 vehicles. You just pay 20 dollars and have them park in the overflow area. The only problem I had with that is there was 4 cars parked overnight by my cabin In which 2 cars were suppose to be in the overflow area. The vendors are there every Saturday during summer. The upgraded cabins are awesome. One thing I'll say tho is the adult bar is ruthless. Reason being is cause you got day drinkers going in all messed up already stumbling and rangers don't care. These two guys kept stumbling into our table and didn't care. Eventually we just got up and left. Park rangers need to start regulating the disorderly drunks. Someone said they renovated the 2 pools but I didn't see any improvement or anything. read more

I've been to Mountains Lakes (members only) as a guest twice now. My cousin is a member, she no longer pays a time share fee, just a quarterly dues fee. She told me that the cool thing is about the membership is that she's able to go to any of these resorts around the country. She planned to have an RV when she retires and go visit the other resorts. Her and her husband love to go fishing and this is where they come. I like this resort. I've found it to be really clean and well kept. I haven't stayed in any of the cabins so I have no idea what they're like inside. My cousin has and she said they're ok, the downside being that you have to bring EVERYTHING. I saw a lot of RV's camped out mainly. My cousin and her husband fished and my son did too. I saw lots of people catching fish the day we went. My cousins husband caught three. My son caught too but he was too eager reeling in and lost them both. I sat in the shade and read a magazine. It's really quiet and relaxing. We were parked by the family center and I could see video games inside the building but I didn't dare let my son know they were there. People were polite. I love that small community feeling. Every one is there for the same reason so people were really polite and I miss that since I work and live in such a large, urban area. Funny how driving an hour or so away from Los Angeles can change so much! The horrible security guards everyone complains about in the other reviews didn't exist this day. I saw one driving a cart around and he was really friendly. I took my son to the kid/family pool and it was perfect, the deepest part (the middle) was only 5 feet deep. The shallow ends were 3 feet. The families were really nice. It's a nice get away. I don't know how much it is now, my cousin said she was paying $100 plus a month. The drive in was really nice, up the 15 , behind the mountains. It was a nice view driving back, until you catch sight of the 15 and the smog/pollution. Dream's over. read more

Not a great resort experience. We were very optimistic going in to this weekend with all hopes of purchasing a membership. First off, one of the rangers, Randy, seemed to be a bit homophobic. He targeted my girlfriend any chance he could get. Only had an issue with any enforced rules when it came to her and nobody else. We were allowed 8 cars per our 4 sites we rented and out of the 6 cars we actually had, he only made HER move her truck stating it was a fire hazard?? Pulled her over for going too fast, pulled us over for having too many people in the car, was extremely rude about us not having a front license plate?? It became a running joke at our camp that ranger randy was going to come and tell her something else. Definitely left a sour taste in our mouths. Secondly, two of the pools were closed, so we didn't get to see the capacity in which this resort had to offer. Lastly, when actually going to purchase a membership, at first the sales rep was pretty attentive and courteous. However, after talking and negotiating he became very short and dismissive. While we were still thinking about the membership, even after our not so nice experience, he was already having us sign the papers saying we didn't want to buy. If you're looking for a resort that makes member service their #1 priority, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!! read more

My husband and I became members at this resort in September 2022...we love this place!! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. We haven't had any issues with any of the other members here. In fact, we became friends with a few other members our first night here. They do have a bit of an issue with too many squirrels on the grounds, but they're doing their best to control the situation. The cabins are comfy. The only issue we've had is the reception on our phones, but they have hotspots all over the resort that you should be able to connect to. Kat in the sales office has been my "go to" person from the very beginning...she's super friendly and helps me with any issues or questions I've had. We took our tour around the grounds with Keith, he was really funny and had a lot of patience in answering all our questions. This place is great for those with children, they have so many activities around the grounds to keep them entertained. And they have all types of activites every month for all the members. We definitely recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. read more

This is a great location and very close to us! We enjoyed everything with kiddos, we loved how they even had scheduled activities for the kids, nice clean 3 pools and 2 jacuzzis and everyone was very friendly. All restrooms and showers were clean. And nice small bar for adults. Only things I hate since we made this visit as a guest with my aunt being the member, every time it came to buying alcohol or going to the bar my aunt had to come and check us in or buy the liquor. And be aware this resort is very strict and you can easily jeopardize your family's or friends membership if you don't follow the rules But over all about the cabin experience very nice and outdated and small but okay to have if u are going with a party of four the most or if u have more I would suggest to bring tents for an outdoor tent camping experience that you can set up by your cabin (: read more

My father-in-law passed away and my mother-in- law is 84 and is no longer able to travel and I as her daughter- in-law have taken over all her finances and am sorting through her obligations and this is a very sensitive time. My husband and I would like to take over the membership and I spoke with Theresa this morning and she was absolutely empathetic and kind and helped me start the process and keeping me informed of rules and regulations of the original contract so thank -you Theresa for doing that and understanding how sensitive this process is. I'ts hard to find employees lately that actually show that and unfortunately I've actually encountered none that have been so kind and understanding and patient. We can't wait to get it in our name so that we may enjoy and make memories as my in laws did for over 25 years. read more

They have 3 pools .one is for adults only. The health department closed the 2 family pools down so now everyone is using the adult pool and hot tubs. Only 1hot tub is working. Children are running , yelling jumping in pool splashing everyone. Today I was there and 5 young children were in hot tub in diapers not sanitary.I would not have bought if l knew I would have to share pool and spa with children. I asked when this matter will be taken care of and no one had a answer. We all pay monthly dues and a large payment to join. Dues keep going up cabin prices keep going up and now 1 pool for entire campsite whats next. read more

I have been coming to Mountain Lakes for 30 plus years and have never been treated with such with disrespect. If you are considering buying a membership, you should look at other places. The staff including the park rangers are very rude! If you try and make a reservation the wait time on the phone is a minimum of 30 minutes, the adult pool they claim is heated is no longer being heated. They refuse to heat the kids pool, so the kids can't enjoy swimming. The rules apply to who they want them to apply to! They won't let guests in for this weekend, which I totally get, but there are open spots with cars parked in them as additional parking versus having a trailer in the spot. When asked about that they get very rude and reply they are concerned with the members. If that is true let's start being friendly, respectful make the rules for everyone, heat the pools and make this a fun place to be at. I posted a picture to show the cars in the campsite to show I'm not just complaining. We had a situation over the summer with my handicapped mother, she was on a golf cart and went to a concert, she parked next to another golf cart which was a staff member that was there, not working, just there to listen to the music, the park ranger made her move her cart, when we explained she was handicapped he said he didn't care. After we moved the cart, he sat on his cart and stared at us making us feel very uncomfortable! When asked about the other cart, he said it belonged to a staff member that was here for the concert, not working and it wasn't our concern. When you try and talk to them about the issues, they threaten to take your membership away or say you can turn in your membership in. Please don't get me wrong, we have enjoyed coming here obviously or we wouldn't have been members over 30 years, but the last year or so the staff has gotten worse. I believe they don't care because they sell so many memberships, if you turn yours in or they take yours, they can sell more. I have placed calls to speak to a manager or owner but get no response. I posted a situation that happened today on their site and it was taken off their site almost immediately so I posted on yelp. I welcome a phone call to discuss the recent changes and staff concerns so hopefully they will show a little professionalism and call me! They have my number on a voice mail. We'll see what happens. We will defiantly keep you posted either way and hopefully it's a good follow up. Saturday at 4pm, cars still parked in empty campsites, no phone call from Mountain Lakes, I checked back last night and they still said no to bringing in a trailer at $52 a. night, I guess they are charging to much to their members if they can have empty sites and people willing to pay!! read more

I've been an upstanding member at Mountain Lakes in Lytle Creek CA for more than a dozen years. Although we rarely use the membership, we've maintained our annual dues accordingly. In June 2021, a neighbor friend expressed interest in purchasing a membership. I offered her to spend a weekend to view the resort prior to committing to the purchase. The plan was that I would stay with she & her family over the weekend. On Friday evening I received information regarding an immediate family member that had a medical emergency & required my presence. I was forced to leave the site to attend to the matter at hand. unfortunately I remained in the hospital until the early hours of the following day. I was informed by my guest at Mountain Lakes that during my absence that the park rangers had visited the site and requested the presence of an active member. Due too the fact I wasn't present, the ranger informed my guest's, "potential new member" that they must leave. I received a letter a few weeks later from "General Manager", Jo Ann Torres in forming me that my membership is suspended for "1-Full Year" due to the situation mentioned. The letter also stated that my dues would be expected throughout the suspension. I phoned Mountain Lakes on 2-seperate occasions & left voicemails for Jo Ann Torres, "General Manager" only to finally to get a call back a week after the second call. I explained to her that I had an unforeseen emergency which caused my absence. Jo Ann Torres was rude & could only quote me their policy. I was told to review my handbook which I had in front of me during the call. The handbook states that action could be taken depending on the circumstance. The 1-year suspension for such a small infraction that was explainable & which I could also document was far too harsh in my opinion. I asked that she reconsider which she swiftly replied. No! She then explained that if I didn't agree with "Her" decision that I could take it up with the board of directors. I've sent a copy of this review to Mountain Lakes Corporate office addressed to the Board of Directors via US Certified mail. Based on the professionalism I've experienced from the General Manager, I doubt they'll take the time to address the matter! My guest that I introduced to Mountain Lakes subsequently resulted in a new membership for the resort due too the fact I received the suspension letter after they purchased the membership. I doubt that I'll renew my membership based on the leadership of the current "General Manager" Jo Ann Torres!! I can only hope that this review comes into view of upper management or park owners so that this management person can be looked at, removed, or placed in position that is suitable for her capacity in dealing with people. read more

I love coming here! This is my second time visiting Mountain Lake Resort and this time we got to stay in the upgraded cabins further up in the hill. The cabin is fantastic! It's two levels that has a loft that you can comfortably sleep 3-5 people. Upgraded stove, fridge, counter tops, cabinets, curtains, blinds, dining table, a/c, heater, includes a mounted TV with cable, surround sound, plenty of electrical outlets, (the loft alone has 6 outlets) seating area outside and upgraded bbq grill with a great view from of the area. Went fishing at 5:30am in 37 degree weather and was freeeeeeezing my but off! We caught 7 trouts, definitely was a great morning! Played bingo and won a game! The rest of the evening/night, stayed in the cabin, played some board games with the family, watched movies and had a great dinner. Can't wait to be back again! read more

Sadly the place continues to decline, Ranger's don't do their jobs anymore, the place is run down and quite "Ghetto", rules are ignored and they squeeze you for every dime they can get out of you....I'd sell my membership but they found a way to make that impossible with quarterly dues increases of 400% to the next owner read more

Unfortunately over the last few years it seems that the cleanliness and maintenance of this resort has gone down hill. The membership and rates keep going up but nothing else. Drove from San Diego to get here. Traffic sucked, typical. Once I got here though that all went away. Met friends for the weekend to just relax and that's we did. Well I finally found time to write this review. We went to Mountain Lakes a few weeks ago and realized that they had a new addition to the park which we were thrilled about. They had added a Tractor Hayride which was wonderful. Now we hope they have it all the way to Thanksgiving so more people can enjoy it. This was our first RV camping trip ever. This is a members only park. So if you are interested in the location ask to visit one time before making your choice. It is a very nice and clean park. Everyone was friendly to us. We went on off days during the week so it wasn't very busy. We found a spot no problem with the hook ups. The wifi wasn't terrible so we could still connect and do some work. The adult pool was nice also. It seems to be a great spot if you have kids as well. We are vegan so we didn't really try the restaurant. They also have a little store In case you need something urgent like coffee! Haha definitely recommend this park if you are local and looking for a membership camp ground for you family! read more

SAD! I have been a member since 2005. We used to love coming here with our family and spending some time away from home. The staff are RUDE! the rangers seem to think they own the park and only apply the rules when they feel like it... the cafe- food is gross, the staff is rude and slow. How do they keep a food place open like that beats me. Electricity has been flickering- the rangers blame it on the members saying that the park is too full... I think that is odd, since the park is responsible for booking the sites. It seems that the park is more interested in selling more memberships to get more money when they can't keep the park running with the member they have now.... I'd like to know where the $400.00+ yearly membership dues are going, because they do not seem to be going to repairing the park. if Management team is reading this... fix your staff... we are still customers! we should be treated with respect. then fix the cafe!! please fix the cafe!! read more

Are you a happy camper? I want to be but I guess I grew out of it a long time ago. This past weekend I stayed here at a cabin with a friend that has a membership. They have 2 man made lakes, one with trout and one with catfish. They also have a restaurant/bar, several pools, an arcade, paddle boats and miniature golf. If you have an RV they have hook ups complete with cable TV. It was HOT HOT HOT HOT! I mean sweaty miserable hot! It is located on the base of the San Bernardino Mountains. Members pay a one time membership, yearly upkeep and RV's and Tents are free and cabins are really cheap. If you get the national membership you can use any of the campgrounds that they belong to nationwide. Uh...my son had fun so that is all that matters. We did see the meteor shower on Sunday night and that was pretty cool read more

Stayed only for the day during Covid times and I must say it is a nice resort to spend a few days at. With the restrictions at place we couldn't really do anything but fish and order take-out from their kitchen deli which was in fact very delicious after a long day's ride. The lake seems too be the biggest attraction since it is stocked with fish quite regularly for the guests to catch for dinner! read more
