Terrible place of business. The girl at the gate is rude off the bat, completely not helpful, not able to problem solve at all. Don't bother going if you plan to visit anyone even knowing their campsite and name. They will treat you like trash, not help you and force you to leave. Then try to keep your ID and not give it back. There are plenty other private camping resorts that want people to camp and enjoy family time without unnecessary discriminatory hoops. Save your money. "Park rangers" want to be cops, they will take any chance at confrontation. Support another business who wants you there. read more

We did a free tour weekend. And really enjoyed our stay!! If the membership wasn't so expensive we would be life long members!! Pros: -All amenities are included- paddle boards, paddle boats, kayaks, mini golf -Private creek to swim in- clean but freezing water since its from the snow melt -Clean swimming pool (they have 2 family and 1 adult) We only went to 1 of the family pools by the lodge - Quiet for the most park -Shaded campsites!! -No check out time (PRO for departures CON for arrivals) -Activities (theme nights, movies, bingo, etc.) -Clean Cons: -You can't reserve a specific campsite -Some sites are very tight to get in- making it almost impossible unless your rig is the right size -Must have an "alcohol card" or membership card to purchase beer/wine- regardless of age -Breakfast buffet on Sunday was gross- cheap but not good -Could use more trash bins throughout the park The sales guy seemed a little annoyed with us in his pitch, maybe it's because we were with our friends.. maybe its because he could sense that we weren't going to purchase a membership.. but he did say that they are breaking ground on a water park this fall and it should be open by next summer. All in all, if I ever come into an extra $12,000.00 I would buy a membership and go again read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!! I saw so many reviews about the rangers and the rules and it true. This was my kids first time going here and a was disappointed. They got In trouble twice and just to let you know there teen so they kinda know what to do and know the rules, but these were the stupidest rules ever one was they did was walk at night with out someone who is 18 years and older and ride a bike with out a helmet. I get it if it was a street or somewhere else but we where in a space where cars aren't going fast and there isn't a lot of people walking on the streets. So many other campsites that we have been too let us ride our bikes without a helmet. Walking at night with someone who is 18yrs and older like wth like what if we want to walk to let our food go down or even take a nice stroll we couldn't do that and they weren't even talking loud or disrupting other campers. People at 4 in the morning were laughing and playing music so loud they didn't even catch them. Honestly (in all caps) KNOW ONE SHOULD COME HERE. There is so many better campsites that are better. We used our complimentary stay here from when we purchased our Trailer. We thought we were going to love it here. The scenery is beautiful. When we arrived we were told to just drive around and find a spot and then go to the office. It is difficult to drive through the narrow roads with a 40ft trailer trying to find a long enough spot, when we were told Al the spots are 50ft (they are NOT). After over an hour of searching we found a terrible spot that was long enough on a hill. Problem was all the benches are welded to the ground so we couldn't put out or stairs, another 45 minute to adjust to fit. We waisted so much time that if we could have just booked a spot we wouldn't have wasted so much time. Our site had some weird trash buried along with old fish hooks. I was shocked for members only park how much trash was left around the park. Make sure your kids wear helmets because they won't leave them alone. But loud music and parting is totally ok even at 12:30am! The kids had fun trick or treating and handing out candy. They said the family center was boring that most of the games were broken. The restaurant staff was super friendly but the food wasn't that great. All the staff was nice and so were some of the members. read more

We had never done any form of camping. Well my husband rented a really nice trailer so we wanted to give it a try with our 3 boys. We found this place that gave us the stay for free for the 3 days and 2 nights. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the catch was we had to do the tour since this resort was members only. When we got there I was not expecting to have so many different types of activities for kids. I was very impressed. We did our tour and unfortunately it was not in our budget to get a membership at this time, and ideally this was a one time thing just to try camping. Went here to celebrate my great-grandmothers 92nd birthday recently and I was disappointed to say the very least. The rangers are extremely RUDE!! A ranger approached us to be quiet (in a rude manner) at around 8pm. I understand she needs be assertive however, we would've respected and appreciated a polite, respectful approach. A ranger even looked me up and down and asked "you have your license" and laughed. I am well over the age to have a license & I thought that was beyond rude and unprofessional. I would give this place more stars but unfortunately they have change this park so much it's not even funny the first thing is almost half of the park they had the electrical boxes half closed so people could not use them they put Caution tape on the '50 Amp sites , and you cannot have any real campfires . Okay, I'll start by saying that I totally get the appeal of this place for certain people....unfortunately, it's not right for my family- this place is very Raider nation, if you get my drift, and SO BUSY. The hubs and I received a free trip here after we purchased a new trailer and the only stipulation was that we had to leave a $100 deposit when we checked in (refundable immediately upon checking out) and sit through a presentation at the end of our stay. Easy enough, we just wanted a chance to try out our new trailer and get a feel for it. We found a good spot in a shaded location and were surrounded by giant RV's and mostly older people, which was fine with us. Set up and hook up was easy and we went walking around to check the place out. The grounds were clean and well-kept and we saw a bunch of squirrels running around. We ended up taking our kids to the family pool and it was also clean and almost empty, which was nice, as our children are still very young and one in particular gets spooked in the water sometimes. Both nights I took our kids to the showers and while I was grateful that they even had showers, the ones we were in was a little dingy and had hair all over the place and it smelled like a sewer. I got in and out as soon as I could. The next day a free carnival was set up and while it was also something else we appreciated being there, it was full of rowdy kids pushing our younger children around. One little boy actually pinned our youngest down in the bounce house and I had to yell at him and my husband jumped in to get her. The boy's parents didn't say anything to us, just told their son to not bother anyone. One thing that we noticed is that there didn't seem to be any staff around regulating things. After the carnival we went back to the family pool and it was pretty full but in the first 10 minutes of being there it became PACKED. The capacity was only 35 and at one point I counted 53 people in the pool and people were allowing their children to jump and run and scream and go nuts there. We'd had enough and bailed back to the safety and quiet of our trailer. We definitely don't consider this place "real camping"- there are too many amenities! I mean, if that's what you're looking for, knock yourself out. But, if you're looking for actual camping, look elsewhere. The presentation was pretty painless and this is what we were offered: a 2-generational membership, 14 days to stay in the park per month and access to other timeshares for heavily reduced fees, all for the low price of $6300 if we purchased that day. If we didn't purchase that day, the price went up to $9300. We declined and decided that we're going to stick to our original plan of real camping ;) read more

I spent this weekend here and I was never able to relax. This place is not at all like the places I normally stay. When I arrived I had to search for a site on my own. Having never been here before I was really confused and could have benefited from some advice. When I asked about the different areas I was told just to look around. I decided on site 59 with my family. We arrived at about noon on a Friday so most people were still unpacking. The pool was close and so was catfish lake. The problem was the grumpy lady who I assume lives on site. She was planting grass and was bothered that we were there and parked where her hose normally goes. She complained about my dog nonstop. He jumped out of the truck with his leash and back inside. She flipped out about it. The noise is never ending and I could hear kids yelling well past midnight. The music is out of control because everyone plays something different and has to play it loud enough to hear a mile away. The campground is old and everything is outdated. They need to make some improvements soon and hopefully it will help. If you like camping in a ten by ten site and enjoy people walking in your site, this would be the place for you. I personally wanted to pull my hair out. When I went to the sales pitch the guy asked my opinion. I said it was too crowded for me. He said "okay you can just go now" my husband had questions but he was rude and didn't care to sale to us. I asked when is a quiet season here and he told me I wouldn't find that anywhere. I have been camping nonstop since I bought my trailer and never experienced such a let down. read more

My grandparents has had a membership for like 46 years so my family have been going here since I was a kid. I know it has changed over the years, because they used have tons of events plans every weekend. Maybe its the economy, and they are just waiting for it to pick it back up. But I remember they used to have magic shows, and like a carnival type thing, and swap meets. I really enjoyed it when I was a kid. We recently bought membership at mountain lakes rv Park and enjoy staying here but this weekend they had a event on sat night and pulled the pool tables and ping pong table out of adult center but it's Monday now and they've been too lazy to put it back so people staying here could use the center or even relax in tv/ game room where it's all packed in also they advertise that the bar would be open for Monday night football but since it's not busy they decided not to do it so basically screw the ones that are here without saying a word so went there in the cold for nothing. Been coming here for 22 years. Back then the camp sites had grass and the grounds were clean. Then the owner would put money back in to the park. Now the sites are all dirt wifi is so bad you can not get in. But he has built a nice barn and his wife's horses have all the grass. read more

2 years ago my fiance and I had a terrible experience with this place. Went up there last night to visit her brother and a total new attitude. The young man working the gate was very courteous and helpful. The female Ranger sorry I didnt catch her name was very professional and you can tell she cares about this place. After asking for our fishing licenses professionally and politely, I decided we would visit again. Didnt catch anything but well worth the 24 bucks to continue to support this establishment. This place is not a nice as the pictures make it out to be. It is still relaxing and comes with some pros but the cons definitely outweigh. For starters our cabin was extremely dirty, the pull out couch was actually broken and lopsided, the springs for the mattress almost poking out. There was also something wiped along the side of the couch which looked to be vomit from the previous people which realllyyyyy grossed me out. This was only within 15 minutes walking in the door. We made the best of it though. The lake had some trash floating in it, overall cleanliness of the place was not up to par. I definitely wouldn't expect that kind of presentation when you are trying to sell an expensive membership to people. Anyway to the pros! The cabins have a bathroom, a kitchen, a television, so they are pretty convenient. The staff are friendly and respectful. They have paddle boats, kayaking, 2 family pools, one adult pool, an adult center, and arcade. So they have some activities to keep you busy. The adult pool is very nice and with 2 large jacuzzi were very relaxing (no children allowed). Walking at night around the lakes was the best part it was very peaceful. Overall the experience is okay, you'll enjoy this place a lot more if you have an RV. UPDATE: There is no separate yelp page for the Lakeview Lodge so this part is based only on the restaurant. The service sucks! We waited forever for someone to take our order and then waited even longer for the server to finally get us our drinks. There was 3 of them and they weren't even busy. One of our kids wanted to change their drink right after they ordered it and the lady rudely snapped back and said yeah I got it. Food was good but the fries for every order were cold. We didn't go back the rest of the trip. Was absolutely not worth the money. read more

I love this campground! I have been coming here with my family since I was a baby. It's a nice getaway from reality but still not too far from the city. When at this campground, one feels as if they traveled long and far to get here. There are outside bathrooms for those shy poopers out there. ;) There's also two lakes where you can go fishing or ride paddle boats (when they're in season). There's something for adults and children. Just ask the front check in place for an activity list. Adults! There is a bar, adult only pool that has 2 hot tubs, and an adults only recreation room. My favorite activity is the bingo! Don't judge me!! Try it. These people get down and it's a little harder than it looks. You'll understand when you do it. Oh, and did I mention you can bring your own liquor to bingo? Woot woot! There's also Free wifi!! Been able to get away and still get work done. Want to do something outside the campground? There's hiking in the surrounding area. Go on, get out there and play! read more

I've been coming here for over 20 years. The past three years have really degraded the charm of mountain lakes. New owner ship maybe? Anyways. The rangers think they're law enforcement or ex military yelling at you for every small little thing. Before the past few years, rangers have always been cordial and rational with they're methods of communication and enforcement of the rules. These new rangers are disgustingly rude and have clear power/authority issues. Thank god they aren't real cops. Fishing is a huge reason I've been here over two decades, yet they've had the beach area of trout lake off limits for fishing and haven't reopened it for years. It is understandable having the area closed while the paddle boats are active, but why keep it closed during the off hours? The fish they stock are also bad quality, they've changed their source to a different fish farm, and the license prices are insane considering the quality of fish, the closed off part of Trout lake, and the hours that limit when and where you can fish after sundown. This is a resort in the mountains... how do you put a time limit on fishing a lake? There are lights and concrete roads all along the border of the lake, yet they close it off to fishing at unreasonable times. Additionally, I just can't help but to talk about the rangers again. They will speed towards you going 30-40 mph on their little military grade go-carts just to yell at you that you're going 2 mph over the 5mph speed limit. Someone needs to get control over these wanna be sheriffs. Check mountain lakes out for yourself but don't be fooled by their nice cordial behavior while they try to sell you a membership, because once you get your membership you will quickly realize the true characteristics of this resort and it's staff. read more

This "resort" doesnt even deserve 1 star. This is the 2nd time staying as a guest interested in purchasing. 1st time was using a tent 2nd was with a travel trailer. We will NEVER come back here. First off the rules are completely stupid and every security guard there makes their own rules. Everyone has a different answer for everything. If I am paying thousands of dollars to stay at this "resort" I expect the bathrooms to be clean with warm water. They were so nasty. No toilet paper, water was freezing, and trash all over the place. Grossest bath room Ive ever seen camping. Your also not allowed to have fires. We were told by multiple people you can and multiple people you cant. They also give out tickets for almost any little thing. If your thinking about spending your money here think else where. This place truly sucks and we will never be back! read more

I love this place. I go here with my family quite often during the summer. I love that their is soo much to do! You can participate in the activities, fish in two different lakes, or go across the street to the nature center and walk through the little stream Went for Memorial weekend, and it was great. They had Empire Wrestling Federation there and that was like the highlight of my weekend :D We got to meet the guys, and take pix with them. Im sooo going next yr if theyre gonna be back! Minor holiday irritations; Restrooms were messy(they are normally not). Ppl were catching more fish than allowed and not enough rangers monitored that (normally I wouldn't care but it was so packed that it just was not enough room. Ppl were casting over other ppls lines (normally not the case either). Ive been up to Mountain Lakes so many times..so I know this is not the norm..and some drunken idiot was walking around, but again it was a holiday. Just have more visible Rangers on Holiday weekends. :) Wrestling was so awesome that my rating maintains 5, & the fact that this place was great any other time. read more

The weather was cresp and beautiful I caught the maximum in fishing & Mountain lakes gave me a compliment breakfast burrito with a birthday button to let everyone know that it was my birthday. Just returned after a crowded weekend at Mountain Lakes as a guest with some great friends. IMHO, the place has lots of perks and we do like coming here (second time). Very family oriented and lots of kids activities to enjoy with the family. There are no lifeguards on staff at the pools and they do get kinda crowded with some kids running around and rough-playing. Fish weren't biting this weekend but my son and his girlfriend loved fishing. I've never eaten at The Lodge but I have had their very tasty ice cream, perfect for the hot days. I don't know what going rate is for purchasing membership at ML but I hear it's pretty pricey. Don't plan on purchasing but if the price is right and I find one to buy from someone looking to sell then so be it. Overall we have always had a great time and we'll be going back. read more

Finally was able to have the stars align and get the kids, dog, and myself out to stay at Mountain Lakes. Party of 6 stayed in one the the smaller cabins. Cabin has all the basics and served its purpose as shelter, hot shower, and commode. Also has private picnic branch and BBQ. There was plenty of activities for all as well as endless beautiful scenery. Staff were all helpful and answered all of our newbie questions with patients and complete professionalism. It was a much needed trip away from the day to day grind. Can't wait to come back. read more
