A decent place until they harass you to leave even if you are not ready, even if you have no place to go. Money always comes first!

My dad had to stay here for a couple of weeks for rehab and I didn't think much of them at first, but looking back now I think highly of this place. They were very accommodating. My mom stayed here most nights and I bought her a reclining foldable chair and they did not complain. Facility is also super clean and does not have a funny smell. I work EMS so I've been to a few SNF and this one seems to be the best. Wooden floors = no lingering smell = easy to clean. Bathroom is clean. The staff at first took a couple of days to adjust to my dad's medications, they forgot to give him his eye drops etc but after a while they were on it. They also gave me a sandwich and beverages which was very much appreciated as I visited my dad for 4-6 hours. There were also times where I stayed past the suggested visiting hours and never got a hard time from them about it. My only complaint would be the parking. It is tiny and when it's full it could be hard to find parking on the street. But honestly most residents here never really got visited as often as I did with my dad so it wasn't a huge issue. I'd like to thank the Filipino staff that took care of my dad as well as the rest of the staff including the physical therapists. I believe this is being done by the business itself as a way to hide a factual account of something that happened, which is absolutely egregious. I've written over 500 Yelp reviews over the last 15 or so years, none of which have been falsified. Furthermore, if Mountain Manor truly felt I was wrong, why haven't they reached out to me directly by sending a message on Yelp? Seems more likely that they are aware of issues at their facility and rather than reaching out, they are trying to hide less-than-stellar reviews. My very best friend had a brief 2 week stay here as she had issues with standing and walking. The physical and occupational therapists had her up and walking in no time! The entire staff was extremely positive and supportive, which helped her immensely to recover quickly. The entire facility is very clean and the meals are far better than expected! The courtyard adds a nice touch to the overall pleasant atmosphere for both patients and visitors. I was always greeted with a nice warm smile from the staff, irrespective of their position. The social workers at Mountain Manor, Ayesa, Adriana and Carmen were a huge help and very patient answering questions regarding my 97 year old father-in-law. Their explanation of the hospice process helped us make the hard decision to have him evaluated for hospice and get him home with his family. Their support along with Allison, Director of Rehabilitation, was awesome. They provided us a lot of assurance that he was being taken care of well while at their facility. Their recommendation to American River Hospice was really appreciated as they provided excellent service during a stressful time too. read more

I'm a patient here for 12 days and in 3 days will be discharged. I came from the VA hospital and doing my physical and occupational therapy. The nursing aide staff work so hard with great attitude and patience towards us that can be challenging. The therapists helped me with my motor skills and gave me confidence to accomplish the exercises we did. The nurses, administrators, I can't thank them enough. read more

This place is a disgrace. They should be closed down due to the neglect and mistreatment of the patients who are brought there to heal. My grandmother was brought into this facility for PT due to hip surgery. She was brought in on a Tuesday smiling, talking and coherent by the following sunday I requested she be sent out to the hospital because when i arrived she was unresponsive and her bp was in the 200s. They were over medicating her and when i arrived she still had food in her mouth which she could have very easily choked on. the nurses refused to call an ambulance at first. Once i pulled my phone out and began to call 911 the nurse ran and called the paramedics. when the nurse was telling the EMT what meds had been given the EMT looked at me and said "Thats enough to put a horse down" my grandmother was 86 years old and 130lbs. once she got to the hospital we learned that she had gotten an infection in her gallbladder and pneumonia. Not to mention I asked to speak with the doctor here about my grandmother and the medication on multiple occasions and he stated that he never got any emails or calls notifying him. My grandmother passed away 2 weeks after leaving their care. I believe in my heart if she hadnt gone to this facility she would still be with us today. read more

My mom had a temporary stay here for 3 weeks. Staff was very friendly and treated my mom well. According to my mom the food wasn't great but they did serve enough to keep her full. Visiting hours are from 8-8. I advise visiting either in the morning or later in the day to find parking. read more

Horrible experience taking a family member there. They only listen to what the insurance companies tell them. If your loved one needs to stay longer, they will ignore it. If the patient is costing you much to keep, they will do what it takes to have them released. Our mother was sent home with a horrible infections bc MM was being pressured to release her by United Health Care. 2 weeks later she was back in the ER with a worse infection. Please do not risk the health of your loved one placing them here. I have had two grandparents at this facility, my grandmother has dementia and swore that she was being mistreated. We thought she was confused. Then my grandfather had a heart attack and after the hospital we placed him at mountain manor for rehabilitation. He ended up back in the hospital due to poor care. He had open bed sores from not being moved enough and was given drugs that we did not authorize that were used to sedate him. He is a veteran who served in Vietnam and Korea, and has PTSD. The night staff got frustrated with him calling out for help, so they took him from his room and left him alone in a wheel chair at the nurses station. When he went back to the hospital and had to be put back on a ventilator, it was because we saw him declining rapidly and my family had to call 911. When the responders arrived they questioned the facility staff in front of us about why they had not called for help sooner. I know this situation does not apply to all, my grandmother who was there first received decent care as far as we saw, but now we wonder if she wasn't actually confused. If you are finding somewhere to place a loved one and cannot be there to check on them at least daily, I would be very cautious about placing them here. Based on my families experience we would never recommend this facility. read more

Mountain Manor is one of the best facilities around. It's clean, wonderful staff and excellent Physical Therapy department. This is a place where the staff really cares about the patient. My husband stayed for almost a month after a fall and needed a lot of physical therapy to regain his strength and balance. They did a wonderful job. When he first arrived he couldn't even sit up without help; within a week he was sitting up and walking with a walker. The physical therapists were great! I was encouraged by administration to please inform them if there were anything I had concerns with or anything that could be improved. They were always ready to listen and correct any issues that I may have. The only suggestion I have is they are definitely short handed on CNA's. It takes a very long time (if at all) for the call light to be answered. Many times I had to take my husband to the bathroom because no one answered the call button and he wasn't changed often enough. Even his roommate had to take him to the bathroom a few times because the call light wasn't answered or if it was very late. Other than that he received good care and especially from one of the best CNA's there - ERIC!! Eric is what makes Mountain Manor so special. His attitude, kindness and efficiency doesn't go unnoticed. He gives 110% of himself to make sure the patient (and family) are well taken care of. I highly recommend this rehab facility - not only do they take good care of the patients the surroundings are very pleasant (especially the courtyard) and the lovely living room with a fireplace. It was a positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use Mountain Manor again if needed. I don't think you'll find one better. read more

My mom is there currently. Call light doesn't work. She has to hang her call light against the railing but even then the staff do not respond. A nurse yelled at her and complaining about how they were short staffed and she didn't have time to change her. The nurse proceed to go on break. Mountain Manor did the bare minimum when my 90 year old mother went there after fracturing her leg. she spent the vast majority of her time in bed with short physical therapy sessions twice a day except for weekends. Her care lacked care and compassion. There were long waits after the call button was pushed. The discharge was a disaster that they apparently forgot about. They also work with the insurer to minimize coverage but that may not be such a bad thing because progress made leaps and bounds once she was out of there. read more

My sister was referred to this "place" about one year ago. Sorry, it took me so long to write a review but my experience with them was completely negative. I was told that my insurance company would not pay for her care - she fell down stairs and fractured her pelvis. When I called the insurance company, not once but twice and spoke to two different people, they reported they had never received any request for rehab services from Mountain Manner. I had been informed by Mountain Manner that the insurance company would not pay for her treatment. Because of my dealings with both the physical therapy treatment center and the insurance company, I believe the insurance company's version of events. The woman I spoke to at Mountain Manner was dismissive, abrupt and rude. Would never recommend this place. read more

The hospital called me this morning to tell me my father was going to mountain manners facility Rehabilitation for a few weeks., and that they were just setting up transportation And would be going there today. Mountain manors manager calls me to tell me that my father's been approved for their facility, and that they were just waiting for his transport to bring him in. I said great can someone just call me and let me know when he arrives? She said yes she will have someone call me as soon as he gets there. I said, thank you very much. She said you're welcome and that was the end of our call. A few minutes later, the social worker from my fathers hospital calls me and tells me that he's been denied at this facility. She tells me that the manager told her that she spoke to me and that I had assumed my father would be there for long term care and that they don't do long term care meaning (end of life care) I have never once said anything to her in that form I know my father is only going there for a short term. And then coming home to fully recover. If I'm getting problems from them before my father even gets there I am glad he is not going there. They are liars and from what I read in the reviews. they don't take care of the rehabilitation patients well at all. Please check Google reviews as well as yelp's before thinking of putting anyone in that facility. My recommendation. read more

This was our 2nd episode at Mountain Manor in the last 3 months. My significant other had major abdominal surgery which required a wound vac and wound care, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Additionally, he has dementia and diabetes, and the nursing staff and therapists did a phenomenal job in caring for him. His wounds healed and his strength returned for the most part. Assistant Director of Nursing Ms. Jean was really good and approachable in resolving any minor issues. Mr. Keith the evening supervisor had a good pulse on all the nuances of the facility and kept things running smooth and ensuring the patients had showers and such. Our nurses were all very good and attentive, called if they had questions or needed a nudge for any memory issue he was having and worked collaboratively in his best interest. The social work staff went above and beyond in finding a long term bed in another facility that was supported by VA and that had a compatible standard of care. Ayesa, Adriana and Carmen did really good work to make it as easeful as possible and went so far to get the necessary authorizations from the VA. Physical Therapist Nathan was incredible in learning how to work with him after his cognitive decline from the last episode. We always enjoyed going out and sitting in the courtyard or in the front sitting area. Our experience at Mountain Manor was really good and we would recommend it to others. read more

I was blessed to be able to spend two weeks at Mountain Manor as I transitioned from hospital after leg/ knee surgery and before going home. The nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists are excellent in their specialties and really care for their patients. The nurse assistants are attentive and caring and the facility is very well managed and maintained. I cannot thank the staff enough for providing such a safe, clean and truly healing environment. In today's greedy world and with the nightmare the insurance industry and equity investors have wreaked on health care, Mountain Manor has risen as the wayshower for ethical and loving health care. They sold it as a very well organized, clean, up to date and none of that was true. When we were shocked by the appearance, it was nothing like the pictures that were sent over. No one at the front lobby, the room was horrible. And the place did not look clean. Patiences were in the hall ways, asking for help and complaining about the service. All 3 of us that were there to drop my daughter off were appalled at what we saw, we at that point did not leave my daughter there. The new owners have made a lot of great changes and upgrades to this once very old looking building. It appears the main entrance and the front lobby is closed and you have to enter the building through the side door where you immediately face the nurse station so they can check your temp and ask you questions before you enter due to the virus situation. I actually appreciate that. The administration seemed very approachable and responsive to our needs. In comparison to several other buildings we visited, Mountain Manor definitely gets two thumbs up. read more

My 83-year-old mother was just transferred to Mountain Manor and I am very concerned and disappointed at the care she is receiving. She was admitted from the hospital and has not been properly medicated. When I called the nurse to check I was advised she was not given her medications last night because "she did not ask for them". Jim the owner helped me out of a jam. My mom had a stroke and was in the hospital and transferred to the physical therapy unit. The hospital abruptly called me to tell me she was being discharged. I pleaded with them for an extra day to find care since my mom could no longer care for herself after the stroke. I researched area facilities that passed recent state inspections w/o any issues. I made calls but either they didn't have room or I got an answering machine. I called Mountain Manor and spoke with Jim. He understood the situation and had room. Jim took care of everything. He called the hospital on my behalf and had my mom transferred to Mountain Manor. He also booked my mom to continue physical therapy all covered by Medicare. She was there about a month until she recovered. The staff is caring and very patient. I visited my mother often and her and the other lady in the shared room were always well treated. It's not a luxury accommodation but everything was clean and the staff was attentive, friendly and upbeat. The food was wholesome and flavorful. The care he has received has been kind, patient and excellent. My Dad is not easy- he has Alzheimer's and a host of chronic illness. I have witnessed the compassion that people have treated him with- and truly care for him like he is family. So many competent staff- Cayla, Joyce, Lola and Monday- too many to mention. And dear nurse Jella- it's true there is not a harder working or more dedicated nurse. She directly oversees my Dads care and ensures that staff renders him the best care possible. It takes patience to take care of my Dad- and her kindness and skill is so very evident. As a last thought I am also a RN and possess a doctorate degree. Mountain Manor is a place where the staff and owner Jim Jordon take your love one under their wings and care for them as if it were their own mother or father. During this journey of finding a place for my mother in law it was heartbreaking to visit places that were unfit and visually notice the unsanitary conditions. If your Yelping this site I'm sure you've encountered this yourself during your search for your love one. We had my mother in law at two other facilities prior to Mountain Manor. I can assure you without a doubt that even thought we paid more money at the two other places, it doesn't compare to the care that we experienced at Mountain Manor. You can't make someone care if it's just a job to them. The foundation of love, patience, compassion and diligence with care begins with the owner Jim Jordon. When we met Jim he shared on how he painted the exterior of the facility himself and landscaped with planting new flowers and shrubs. Everytime we were there on the weekends...he was their too. Sometimes in scrubs working in the trenches with his crew. He shared with deep passion on how he would want his mother or father treated and expressed that he wants that for every resident there. Mountain Manor is priceless and what we experienced is that the staff does this because they have a passion for it. My mother in law passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. To have experienced with seeing this type dedication of care and love can not be duplicated anywhere else. The beginning of the journey with Mountain Manor and the end was one of the most beautiful experiences of selfless love that one could ever wish for in their later years. We will forever be thankful for all the things that the staff members did with extending themselves when they really didn't have too. You can't pay for things like that. Our Grandmother is at this home. Our family has full respect n gratitude for this home. The management does everything to run a great home.
