Mountain Mike's in Davis deserves 10 stars for their exemplary attention to a relatively minor issue. We had two previous deliveries in which our beverage order wasn't correct. I called the store the second time to point out the mistake, but only so that they could be more accurate in the future. Sameet though was extremely apologetic and insisted on "making it right" for future orders. Again, I told him it was not a problem, as I understand that mistakes can happen. This evening we ordered Mountain Mike's (it's our favorite pizza) and Sameet delivered our pizzas and sodas himself. He not only apologized for the past mistakes, but also added an extra complimentary soda to our order, as well as a VIP card for future orders. This was completely unexpected, generous, and extremely considerate. Our family has always loved Mountain Mike's Pizza, but what truly seals the deal is this franchise's impressive customer service and desire to please. Thank you Sameet. As I told you on the phone before, there was no need to do anything on your end. That you went ahead and did all that you did this time is an impressive credit to your restaurant. Our go to order is a large Everest specialty pizza because it comes with a little bit of everything from different kinds of meat to a variety of veggies. We were disappointed from the start. We placed our order (large pizza, 12 piece Buffalo wings and garlic bread) and were told it would be brought out to us in about 20 minutes. As we sat on the patio enjoying the evening air we waited patiently. About 30 minutes later I went inside and check on our food to be told, "oh sorry, yeah it's been ready" (but they forgot to bring it out). They handed us our food and when we opened it up we noticed that our wings were incorrect. I went inside to inform them, they apologized and said they would bring us the correct order in about 5 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes and I went inside to check and grab some napkins. "Almost ready, they're coming out now. We'll bring them out." Waited another 15 minutes and went in again to just ask for a refund since we had long finished our meal. The door was oddly locked so I knocked and waited for someone to come to the door. Another customer ended up letting me in to talk to a worker. I spoke to a manager and asked for a refund since it had been about an hour and we had yet to get our full order. He said he couldn't do that and offered me a coupon for 25% off my next visit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As I stood there dumbfounded, another manager came out from the back with the wings. So I left with my wings and ate them at home. Thoroughly disappointed in this place. I used to look forward to ordering from them however last week I ordered 2 pizzas from them through door dash, and they both arrived doughy. As no one likes a half cooked pizza, I called to make a complaint, however immediately was told it was impossible for the pizza to be doughy, insinuating I was lying. After going back and forth with the guy for some time he tells me to complain to door dash, who tells me they cant do anything. Mountain Mike's pizza is one of the best in Davis. We order maybe once a month, for parties and special events for a large group of children and adults. A recent example of their care and service: we ordered several pizzas to be delivered for valentines day, which turned out to be a very busy day for Mountain Mike's. Wow, this pathetic excuse of an establishment sure has some nerve to be operating. Came in around noon January 11, 2022 in hopes of a lunch buffet. Sumeet and the other boy working there seemed to be very disgruntled by my presence since I interrupted their lovely conversation, my apologies for wanting to conduct business and give you my money!!! As I was scanning the room I couldn't help but notice the pizza table was eerily empty and the table was so clean it didn't even look like pizza had even been on there before. I asked if they had pizzas coming out and Sumeet said yup coming right out we got lots of them. So I paid up sat down and proceeded to wait roughly 10 minutes for them to bring out their first pizza which was allegedly their "world famous pepperoni pizza" not sure in what world this pizza is famous for but this "pizza" was so incredibly awful I wouldn't even feed the scraps to stray cats. "Crust" was identical to the taste of cardboard and the sauce might as well have been Walmart canned tomato sauce. After forcing down the pizza through my throat I got up to get different kinds of pizza in hopes for a better experience. However to mg amazement there was once again no pizzas to be in sight. I also asked Sumeet for a new plate and he proceeded to do all kinds of awkward hand gestures and began to question why I needed a new plate which then I proceeded to correct him and state there is a sign clearly indicating a new plate must be used at all times and if he didn't want to follow with his own store policy he should take that down and not act like a big man when in reality he's just a boy who clearly has no idea what he is doing. After about 10 minutes of waiting I got up again to see what is the deal. When I go to a buffet I expect food to be ready to go, not having to wait an eternity. The employees don't seem like the type to want to serve customers since they seem it is okay to feed themselves by helping themselves to the salad bar, making personal pizzas for themselves and you can forget about hygiene since not one time did I see any gloves on hands. Wilco pizza would be a better alternative to This place, also Woodstock pizza has a pizza buffet with much better variety and friendly customer service. Even though it was beginning to near closing time the service was quite friendly and they waited patiently while we decided. Had a great dining experience last night at this newly opened restaurant. We've never been to a Mountain Mikes pizza before but live nearby and thought we would give it a try. We placed our order and sat outside on their patio. We ordered two pizzas - a vegetarian and a Hawaiian style. They brought them out to us in about 20 minutes and both were absolutely delicious!! We even got a bonus dessert pizza - yum! This location in the Market Square has had a high turnover of restaurants but hoping this one sticks around! I recently went to mountain Mike's in Davis, California next to Pete's coffee. I understand this new ownership. They had a long time employee there that would take care of our students in the city of Davis each week. Help the handicap coming in fold boxes just for some experience. He always gave them pizza. They just loved him. His name was art. All we knew him was art. Come to find out today new ownership. They need her no more. That's a tragedy in our community. He was a great employee. Great individual. Great person you do. Owners of mountain Mike's and Davis need to be ashamed of yourself for treating your employees as you do. He took care of the community, our students and whoever came into the restaurant he was there day and night and now you guys took over the restaurant with new ownership and discard him like he was an old pizza and threw him away.
