Pizza & Pints has quickly become one of my favorite lunch spots. Their pizza is always fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. I honestly can't get enough of it. On Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, they offer an amazing lunch special where you can choose a personal pizza, a side of fries or a salad, and a drink for only $10. The portions are great, and when a friend first told me about it, I thought it was too good to be true. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Their ranch is absolutely amazing too. I wish it came free, but it's definitely worth the extra cost. I highly recommend the Margherita Pizza and the Caprese Salad. Both are so delicious. Ah man. We were so disappointed! The pizzas sounded so unique and tasty, but both came sopping and soggy. It was such a bummer. For the record, we know Neapolitan pizza. We know it is thin and that the center does get a touch wet. But this was literally the whole pie except the crust that was swimming and floppy. Real pizza at an amazing price. Went with my boys the other day and got the lunch special with some Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was ok, but the half-sized margherita pizza tasted freshly made. Plus it only costed about $9-10 and came within 10 minutes. I will be coming back one more time for sure before I head home for summer break. My review is for the lunch special because WOW! Such a great deal! We stopped by during late spring and grabbed 3 lunch specials + fries for like $45 on the patio. We each got the equivalent of the combo pizza and house salad and shared an order of fries. The pizza was fresh and delicious. It didn't collapse under the toppings and the dough was nice and chewy. Salad was salad, but a nice portion. The fries are the type of fries that you sit around and share with friends to gab over. Like seasoned diner fries, so great. But om top of good food for a great deal, the staff was really friendly. They helped explain what we could and couldn't substitute and we're patient while we stumbled through what we want. There was a bit of a wait during lunch as the staff were running around serving food and whatnot, but they kept reassuring us that they saw us and would help shortly and apologized. I can't remember what this pasta was called and don't see it on the regular menu, so it might've been a Picnic Day special. But this was so good after a long hot day of partying! Just took our order and gave us our food. We asked multiple times to see if we can change the monitor to watch the game and they just said they were working on it but never came on. Came with a huge group and it was very busy on a Friday night. There are outdoor and indoor seating. You line up to order your food and beverage and they bring your food to the table but you need to pick up your drink on the side. The food didn't take too long. I got the chicken Alfredo. The pasta tasted freshly made. The chicken had a nice charred taste. I tried a friend's carbonara and it was sadly a disappointment. A hit! Downtown Davis has about 200 pizza restaurants, but keep this one on your list. Tons of street parking around 3rd and B, literally in the middle of everything. Cozy long tables insides and beers galore. I switched it up and got the meatball sandwich -- toasty cheesy and awesome. Side Caesar salad for health's sake (only $2 more) and a very generous bowl of perfect fresh fries. All-you-can-drink soda bar; at least nobody stopped me when I went up for more. How have I lived in Davis for four years and not tried Village Pizza and Pints before?? It's truly a sin on my part, but thank goodness I finally made my way here. There is so much to complement, from the friendliness of all the staff, to the variety of great beers they have on tap, and the mouth watering deliciousness of each of their pizzas. These pizzas show why well baked crust and high quality cheese are some of the most important elements of a great pizza. Then all their extra toppings only add to that, with balanced combinations of salty, fresh and sweet flavors. Their whole outdoor patio area is very nice, and they have misters for extremely hot days (a necessity for the outdoor dining in davis). But in the case of unbearable heat, they also have a good amount of indoor seating! Their food is on the more expensive side, which is the only downside for a college student budget, but I really do think it is absolutely worth the price, even if it isn't affordable on a regular basis. But the casual ambiance makes it a great place to go for a group diner out, or a visit from parents/grandparents to show them the best Davis has to offer. Village Pizza and Pints should be on everyone's must-try list, and is now solidly one if my restaurant favorites! read more

The food here is so good that my boyfriend and I came here twice in two weeks! It was refreshing to have pizza that's different than what I'm used to. We've tried the truffled mushroom pizza and the prosciutto pizza so far. I thought they were both delicious and fairly priced. The best part to me is how I don't feel overly stuffed or unhealthy after eating the pizza here. It's different, but enjoyable to have pizza that isn't heavily loaded with cheese. This kept it feeling relatively healthy despite being mostly carbs. We also tried the spaghetti frutti de mare and spaghetti & meatballs. I strongly recommend the spaghetti frutti de mare if you're a seafood lover! They give a decent portion and good amount of seafood on it for the price. If you're not a big fan of spicy food, I don't suggest it but if you like a nice hit of spice that isn't too overwhelming, give it a shot! I'm excited to return just for the frutti de mare. The service here was nice too because the cashier and servers are kind. My only problem with it is that they can take awhile to clear the tables, which confused me because there weren't too many customers the nights I went but it wasn't more than five minutes. Drinks are self-serve except for the beer and they also have a small station to get pepper flakes, utensils, etc. if you need it. There are two large tables inside the restaurant that make it perfect for a larger family/friends gathering, so this is a good spot to bring your close ones for food on a smaller budget. If you get the pizza with more expensive ingredients like seafood or prosciutto, be ready to pay more but the prices here are decent considering how much pizza costs now. read more

A long overdue review, I have been going to Pizza and Pints at least two to three times a month for the past couple months. This is hands down the best pizza place in Davis! Types of food available: they have a large assortment of options from their excellent pizzas, to burgers, sandwiches, salads. Their pizzas are great, especially the Margherita pizza. I think their style is Neapolitan with super fluffy light crusts. The sandwiches are also really good. The fried chicken and fried fish sandwiches are prepared with a nice spicy slaw with jalapenos (and maybe serrano peppers?). Their burger is also really solid, I've had that on two occasions. Value: I can't stress this enough, this has got to be one of the best values in town. $14.00 for a personal Margherita pizza is an unbeatable price for the quality and taste. Despite going so often, I am always surprised at how good the pricing is here. Atmosphere: inside has two large tables and around four smaller tables (high chairs available). Outside has several large tables and a few smaller tables as well. The outside seating also has heating. The staff/owner are always very friendly and the area feels clean. Personal Favorites: every time I go I get a Margherita pizza, it's a must try! They also have rotating specials which sometimes have some really unique flavors. When I'm not feeling pizza, I also highly suggest the fried chicken or fish sandwich! *One caveat for this review, I won't be reviewing the "pints" part of Pizza and Pints since do not usually drink alcohol! read more

When ordering food at Village Pizza & Pints, be aware that they are charging prices not listed in their posted menus and are substantially higher than the listed prices. Village Pizza & Pints are knowingly engaging in false advertising on prices. Their menus list prices which are lower by usually $2 per item than what they actually charge you. This is in violation of State law (California Business and Professions Code Section 12024.2). That section clearly states 12024.2. (a) It is unlawful for any person, at the time of sale of a commodity, to do any of the following: (1) Charge an amount greater than the price, or to compute an amount greater than a true extension of a price per unit, that is then advertised, posted, marked, displayed, or quoted for that commodity. (2) Charge an amount greater than the lowest price posted on the commodity itself or on a shelf tag that corresponds to the commodity, notwithstanding any limitation of the time period for which the posted price is in effect. The owner (Azziz Fattahi) and his employees have been informed of this but have disregarded it. As a result, a complaint has been filed with the Attorney General's Office. We had brought this to the attention of Mr. Fattahi and his employees in the past but they simply decided to ignore the comments. As a result, we have felt it necessary to post this review so customers are aware that they are being subjected to falsely advertised prices. This false advertising is a huge discredit to the number of students who frequent the restaurant and may feel unprepared to dispute the prices they are being charged. At a minimum, Mr. Fattahi should immediately update and maintain menus that reflect the actual prices being charged. This is State law. This is an update to the review posted on May 6th. Mr. Fattahi states that the prices listed are just for the burgers. If that is the case, why does the menu for the burger state "1/2 lb. grass-fed Beef, comes with spring mix, tomato, persian pickles and & our house dressing." In addition, the woman working the cashier stated the burger came with a house salad. Never heard of me before? That's funny, Your son was in my 4H rocketry project for a year a number of years ago and you seemed to remember me when I have come in before. We have talked several times when I have come into the restaurant. I have mentioned to you and one of your staff at least one year ago that the menu prices are outdated. As far as having a "bad day," that's an easy accusation to make. The fact is that you consistently ignore that fact that your menus list prices which are not reflected when the prices are rung up. I have attached a photo of your menu prices. You should really read up on state law. It's pretty clear that what you are doing is not allowed. It's a pretty simple fix. Yes, I know, PP's pizzas are Incredible, but equally amazing is their pasta. The "spaghetti al nero di seppia" (squid ink spaghetti) is to die for. Only way to find something as delicious and sophisticated as this is to go to some high-end restaurants in Venice. I should know, I am from Veneto!
