It was getting on lunch time for my crew working near the north Portland area and we decided to cross the state line and go into Vancouver, Washington. My Gps led us here. This Mountain Mike's looks like a fairly new location as is the whole little shopping center it's located in. There's a Trader Joe's in this shopping center as well. It's just off the 5 freeway and easy enough to get to. We get in and I pay for everybody at the cashier. The staff was friendly and then we got our plates and headed to the buffet. There's a nice salad bar if you want. The pizzas are all out on the hot table thing. I dunno what exactly that's called. The pizzas were hat and crust crispy. The topping were generous and everybody was happy with the buffet. We'd been to other Mountain Mike's lunch buffets before, so I knew this would keep everybody happy and it wouldn't take forever to have lunch and get back to work. This is a pretty nice Mountain Mike's location in Vancouver. I'd return here, but not really sure we'll be back in this area again. I really liked the combo topping pizza. Now I'm stuffed! I grew up in CA and when I moved to the PNW 6 years ago I mourned no longer being able to have mountain mikes, so needless to say I was overjoyed when I drove to Trader Joe's and saw they opened a mountain mikes nearby. I had no issues with the delivery time and it took just as long as any other place. I think pizza is one of the most subjective foods - because in my eyes - it comes down to everyone's personal preference on ratio of cheese to sauce to crust. My personal preference is good crust, cheese as the primary focus, and sauce as a light spread. Mountain Mike's Pizza - Disappointing Experience We tried Mountain Mike's on Sunday January 18th after hearing great things, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. One of my daughters cannot tolerate tomato sauce, so earlier in the day we called to confirm whether they could make her pizza with an olive‑oil base instead. We were told this would be no problem. Since the app didn't offer that option, my husband called in the order and again confirmed the substitution. He was reassured that the order was entered as "no red sauce, sub olive oil." When I arrived for pickup, the receipt only said "no red sauce." I asked the staff to confirm the pizza was made correctly, and they discovered it had been made plain--no sauce and no olive oil. They offered to remake it. Our other pizza and garlic knots were already done, but I didn't want them sitting in a warmer for 20 minutes, so I asked for those to be remade as well. The employee seemed reluctant, but agreed. I waited another 20 minutes in the store. When we finally got everything home, the quality was poor. The garlic knots were burnt. The sausage pizza (with olive oil) was correct in base but had barely any sausage--some slices had only one piece. The pepperoni pizza tasted fine but had nowhere near the amount of pepperoni shown in their photos. We spent almost $50 on this order and were extremely disappointed from start to finish. would definitely come here again! their pepperoni is the tiny cups that get nice & crispy MY FAV yummy!! their pizzas are the perfect combo of soft but still a firm crust on the bottom!! We were excited to give this place a try after hearing mixed reviews but wanting to support our community. We ordered one large pepperoni pizza and garlic knots for take out. We arrived to pick up about 30 minutes later and ended up standing in line waiting for someone to notice us. There was no signage to instruct pick up procedures but it shouldn't have been this difficult. Another 15 minutes went by before our order was ready, and staff seemed irritated that we were growing impatient with them. The pizza was okay. Happy to have a Mountain Mike's up here! We didn't know anything about it coming and then my wife saw it on social media, so we had to check it out of course. The place was absolutely slammed on a Saturday night after recently opening with really long wait times, but that was expected. Our patience paid off...LOVE those curled up crispy pepperonis! As chain pizza places go they put out a quality pizza. Loved the salad bar too. And best of all the service was great. Kayden and Lilly were working the front counter and kept their cool despite some customers not being so friendly or patient (c'mon what did you expect?) Every employee was super friendly and they really took care of us and made sure our order was perfect. Great work handling that overwhelming super busy night. Tried it once and never again. Ordered online, went in and front counter asked my name, then said my pizza will be up shortly. No problem, I was 5 min early from time online said it would be ready. After 25 min standing there the girl asked what I ordered. Told her, she said it will be done in 8 min. I said if the pizza hasn't been cooked, I would like to cancel. She said no, it's in the oven. Went in to order pizza to go. Waited 30 min for 2 pizzas. One wasn't made correctly they offered to remake it but I didn't want to wait again. A few positive notes- we ordered take out and it was ready very fast, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately our order was wrong and I didn't realize it until we got home (my fault for not checking). We ordered half Nashville Hot N' Swicy and half BBQ at the Ranch. The Nashville side was missing the pickles and the crunchy slaw- and the pickles were the entire reason we ordered it! The pizza looked so sad when we opened the box, hardly any toppings on one side it was almost comical. My husband said the BBQ half was "fine." Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! The only thing better than the service is the pizza! If you haven't had a chance to try mountain mikes I would highly recommend giving it a shot. The service sucks, the manager was rude and the food mediocre, undercooked and they put dressing on my TOGO salad. I've worked in restaurants my entire life and the only time that would be acceptable is if it was a Caesar. I ordered for pickup on the website. It says "order time" not "pick up time". A confirming email said I'd receive another email regarding the order. I assumed the 2nd email would let me know pick up time. I called 20 minutes after order time and was told it had been in the warmer. I went to get it and asked to see the manager. 5 or more minutes later she came out front. I was scolded by the manager for not knowing order time means pick up. Then I was offered water, apparently I was going to pass out . I asked to make a new pizza. Yes, "in an hour and a half" !
