Nice quiet town coming down from the mountains. Main highway is main street. Railroad passing between the inbound and outbound roads. We needed a lunch and MM or Mountain Mocha was right there. A nice mom and pop cafe, art gallery, shop, restaurant and coffee, along with a comfy seating area at the front of the cafe, facing the road way. A fairly large and equipped kitchen was behind the counter, so must have been some form of restaurant in an earlier life. Very busy coffee-maker, order taker, table service guy hustled behind the counter. Plenty of walk-ins to keep him busy. Simple menu, but we found things to eat and then enjoyed the people and goings on. There were donuts and pastries. Menu of food was not complex, mostly microwaved or quickly grilled, but that was just fine. Very excellent coffees and clean restrooms. Good stopping for a break kind of place. read more

The barista isn't really over the top nice considering this is a small southern town. I love this local coffee shop/cafe. The coffee is very good and I'm addicted to their chicken salad sandwich. COVID has had a negative impact on their food service and several times they've said things were not available due to staffing shortages. I can only hope that things get back to the way they were soon and food service is more dependable. read more

We saw this restaurant while we were driving through the city of Walhalla. We decided to stop in to check it out. They offer sandwiches, appetizers, pastries, a variety of coffee drinks and ice cream! We opted for the ice cream this trip but will definitely be back for the coffee.
