Came here for the first time to treat my staff for the holiday. Here is what I got Forest pie Cherry pie Seasonal cookies Cherry pastry Chocolate croissant Cheese Danish This was a large order. I was a bit surprised that when I went to a bakery at opening they didn't have many items. The only thing I really didn't enjoy were the pies. That is the only thing that prevents me from saying this is an amazing bakery. Coming from New England I'm used to having bakeries start cooking at 3:00 a.m. and having everything ready when the door opens but maybe this isn't the environment for that. Regardless I did like the item sampled. On another note I thought that the staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly the desk person. One thing that I didn't quite like about this place is that they are cash or check only. They do not take credit card whatsoever Just a little bit odd in this day and age but I guess they don't want to pay the credit card processing fees In addition I would have liked to have seen a bit more selection and variety. Out of towners who came in because we stopped at The Black Stag coffee shop up the road where Zach mentioned this bakery. We sampled a selection of goodies including the layered cream filled pastry, cinnamon twists, apple filled bear claw, and a hot cross bun. Everything was delicious! I'm not a fan of fruitcakes; and the hot cross bun is the Lenten equivalent of the Christmas fruitcake. The breading on the hot cross bun was delicious but I wasn't a fan of the dried fruit. Just a personal opinion and it in no way effects this review. I wish we had more time to stop in a second time after we demolished the first round of treats. Good pastries, great bread: I particularly like the bear claws, and the "chocolat au pain"(chocolate croissants). The doughnuts are first rate, I really enjoy the bread, particularly a light wheat bread, and some righteous rye. There's tables, and a few regulars hang out. read more

The heavenly bake shop made our wedding cake for our April 21st wedding. The cake was beautiful and tasted great! The grooms cake was equally as delicious. they even delivered the cake on a Sunday to the Ridges resort and set it up! They were great to work with and exceeded our expectations. read more

My wife stopped by on her way home and picked up éclairs and some other pastry. Éclairs had some awful filling, not vanilla pastry cream and the pastry had filling just on the very end and nothing in the middle, what a rip off. They claim to be the best bake shop in the mountains, Melissa's Bakery in Blairsville is 100 time better. And their éclairs and Boston Cream have the correct filling and the pastries are always filled to the brim. read more

I tried the strawberry shortcake and it was sooo good! The cream and strawberries weren't too sweet which is how I like it and the pastry was just right. If I had to make a suggestion I would say add more strawberries but there was still a good amount. I had a couple bites of the salted caramel donut (because it was my husbands) and I couldn't decide which one I liked better because it was also really good. There's some course salt on top which added to the flavor. We bought a chocolate donut bar with butter cream filling for my daughter and I tried a small piece of that also. If you like sweet, then this would be for you. The filling was really good but the filling combined with the donut was too sweet for my taste, but that's just a personal preference. All three came out to $6 and some change which is pretty average. I'm glad I found this place to satisfy my sweet cravings and I can't wait to try more stuff. This little mom-and-pop shop has been around for over nine years. And don't expect any frozen ingredients in anything, everything is made from scratch. They have a wonderful selection of pies, bagels, cakes, and donuts. This is one of the best doughnut shops around and I'm ashamed it took me this long to find it! The best Fruits Of The Forest pie!!!! We bought one today-Wednesday, September 11th. Took it home, and I couldn't resist, so we cut into it immediately and ate 3/4 of the pie. The fruits inside were so fresh. It seemed like there was Strawberry, raspberry, apple and I am not sure what else. The crust was very flaky. I think we are gonna have to go back and get another one. I would highly recommend trying this place for doughnuts and/or fresh baked pies. read more

I thought it couldn't get much better when I saw the sign has an Elvis on it and a Elvis guy runs the place w/ his wife. But then I tried the goodies and realized that it did get better! I hesitate to tell anybody how good the pecan sticky buns are because they may be sold out when I get there. They only make them on Saturday, and then only a limited quantity. I ordered a birthday cake with buttercream frosting and designs in chocolate swirls. The cake had chocolate smeared all across the sides. The border was smudged and uneven. The writing was wonky. The cake was absolutely unacceptable. I told the employee that this was not what I expected, but he didn't offer another solution. I am very disappointed. Very unprofessional. I asked for mini red velvet cupcakes with a smooth frosting, and even had a photo of exactly what I wanted, and they acted like I was speaking another language. After a few awkward moments of the two employees talking back and forth ("well we are busy" "idk if we can do red velvet" etc) the guy pointed to the picture and said "that's buttercream" my response was "ok" he repeated himself. Again I said ok. And after the third time I asked "So you cant do it or what?" The response was idk. At this point I am clearly frustrated and the second employee tried to save the sale by handing me a card and saying to call the owner. (Which is ridiculous that a bake shop can't take an order for cupcakes without the customer having to call the owner) then the guy throws in very sarcastically "we only do one size of cupcakes, and that's not mini" with a scoff. Hello? If that's what I am asking for and you don't do it, tell me no and don't waste either of our time!! I didn't have anything so I dont know how good their products are, but based on the customer service there is absolutely NO WAY I would ever give this place business. read more
