My wife and I spent four days at Mountain Springs Cabins with our dogs this spring. I chose Mountain Springs because they are pet friendly, and we had decided take our pets for hikes along the Blue Ridge. I booked a cabin. The day before we left I got a call from Alicia at Mountain Springs offering an upgrade to their Cricket cabin. This one accommodates two people (there's also a sleeper sofa). The cabins are definitely rustic -- all wood, inside and out -- but modern in fixtures and fittings. I'm pretty sure Cricket had been rebuilt from the foundation up within recent years as the bathroom looked brand new (with a large walk-in shower!). The best thing about Cricket was the location; it is set apart from other cabins on a quarter acre by a stream. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the stream and Mt Pisgah. We felt far away from everything, but in fact the cabins are a quick drive from Asheville. The Biltmore Estate is about 20 minutes away. We never traveled with the dogs before but I can say the dogs enjoyed it! A tip: Biltmore allows dogs in the gardens and ground, just not in the house. They provide a free do-it-yourself kennel; you can park your pets while you rake a house tour, then retrieve them when you want to visit the gardens. read more

Mountain Springs Cabins is our home away from home!! You cannot go wrong visiting this wonderful location for a little rest and relaxation, listening to the springs and enjoying the pretty country setting. Everything is so charming and you will enjoy visiting time and time again. We have personally stayed in 4 of the cabins and have loved every minute of each visit! All the cabins are so comfortable with local charm galore... You also cannot go wrong choosing Mountain Springs Cabins as home base for all your hiking, exploring and outdoor adventures. Kate and Alicia are such gracious hosts and are full of wonderful ideas of fun activities in the local area. They have given us suggestions for activities at Biltmore outdoor adventures. They have suggested local parks for walks. They have been so kind as to listen to what kind of hikes we are interested in (360 views, waterfalls, easy, intermediate, etc..) and suggest / print out directions for the best hikes in Western NC. We have been going to Mountain Springs cabins for the last 8 years. Last year we had a family reunion cruise and we had to miss it. This year each member of the family was going through withdrawal as we miss this place. Relaxing in the cabin at night and exploring the area during the day is our favorite pastime. My wife becomes Martha Stewart and make us the best home cook meals. My son loves walking around the stream that runs along the property and just throwing pebbles watching them skip over the water. My daughter takes in the scenery and shares it with her friends on Instagram and Twitter making them all jealous of such a beautiful place. Kate, Alicia and the staff here are great as we always feel welcomed so much so that we may make another trip this winter. My sister in law and her family area staying at a time share in Maggie valley and we want to come back to Mountain Springs even for a few days. We have experience many falls and one late summer but no winter visits. We are looking for "all the comforts of home" when we vacation again. read more

I have stayed here five times over the last 8 years. In that time, I've stayed in four different cabins. The cabins are all well enough appointed. Comfortable furniture, enough kitchen items for making meals, and lots of information about the area provided in a binder. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you tell them what you're looking for in terms of restaurants or activities or hikes, you will get great recommendations with printed maps to help you find the hikes. The grounds are beautiful and we've never had a problem with noise from other guests. My only wish is that the cabins were a little more up to date in terms of having king bed instead of queen (some may have king, but not the ones I've been in), better water pressure from the showerhead, that kind of stuff. But that's all very minor and I guess they'd have to raise prices if they spent a lot to upgrade the cabins. We enjoy staying here and will continue to do so! read more

Why waste money on a hotel when you can have a serene, beautiful setting to relax and kick you feet up? Mountain Springs cabin are all - and then some - of the pics on the web site. Our cabin was beside the creek and the sound was soothing to fall asleep to. Everything you could ask for was provided and there's really no need to go anywhere else if you don't want to. The staff was more than helpful from setting up the reservations to assisting us with directions while we were driving to the ease of check-in and out. After a very long day long drive, we both had to smile broadly when we saw our names welcoming us on the blackboard beside the front door! And when we stepped inside, my fiance's first word was "Wow!". That pretty much wraps it up: Wow! read more

We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay at Mountain Springs Cabins again. We have already recommended them to friends. Very relaxing, loved the porch, swing and fire pit. We grilled out one night and ate on the picnic table with a fire burning nearby, very enjoyable. We were in Asheville visiting with our son. We hope to return with our entire family in the future for a family retreat. Much nicer than staying in a hotel, much more relaxing and they provided clean towels every day, which you do not always find with cabin rentals. They also had wood you could purchase for a small fee for the fire pits and starter logs, which was a nice tough. We are already looking forward to our next stay, maybe in the fall. read more

This was our first time staying at MSC or being in the Asheville area. We stayed in the Cricket Cabin. The cabin was great! It was away from the other cabins, had its own firepit, hammock, and swing and was right by the creek. The whole property was so quiet, we forgot others were also staying at MSC. The beautiful mountains added to the relaxing atmosphere. Kate & Alicia were awesome! They were so willing to provide info and help any way they could. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed making dinner and eating on the deck each night. A great way to unwind after a day of waterfall hunting, leaf peeping and sightseeing. If we are in the Asheville area again, we will stay at MSC! read more

This was our 4th year to stay at Mountain Springs Cabins and we certainly plan to return. This year was excellent as it has been every year. Very relaxing in a beautiful setting. The cabins are very clean, comfortable and beautiful. The staff are very helpful, friendly and feel like old friends. It was so neat to arrive and be welcomed by name as soon as I walked in the door and then to get to the cabin and have a welcome sign by the door with every person named. The landscaping is beautiful and especially loved the way the antiques were displayed with the old buildings. Absolutely love the creek and watching the water flow over the rocks. read more

We were so happy to have found this place. Central to everything, but far enough away to truly relax. We brought 2 young children and they had a blast. We stayed in cabin 12. Willow Creek. It was perfect for us, last unit on the end, the creek in our back yard. The girls loved the upstairs loft and the visiting cats most!! You can sit in the porch swing and the playground and hammock are right across the way. We love this place and we will be a back soon. We even had a chance to visit Biltmore and West Asheville for breakfast. A hidden treasure I'm glad we stumbled upon. Also, the staff was super sweet and friendly. Highly recommended! read more

This place is wonderful. A short drive to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed for 4 days and 5 nights and loved every second of our trip. This location allowed us to stay in our cabin all day watching DVDs (FREE from the office) or venture into own for an eclectic downtown Asheville meal or head down the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway to take in breath taking views of endless mountain tops. The staff is also absolutely fantastic, they were so helpful whenever we had questions and they were incredibly personable (so easy to talk to). We are already planning our next trip! read more

We just spent Christmas at Mountain Springs Cabins. This was our 4th stay here. We love this place. The cabins are always immaculate. The addition of new TV and DVD player was great along with the addition of the bathtub and new bed and couch made this stay even more enjoyable. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. They have all the information you need to enjoy the Asheville area. The grounds are so beautiful. My four year old grandson loves it. It was the best place for Christmas away from home. Mountain Springs Cabins is wonderful. They have thought of everything. They provided information before arriving, and upon arrival they gave us a packet with maps and area information. In addition, the cabin had a huge 3-ring binder containing information about various areas around Asheville. They have a library in the office of books and DVDs, and there were several books in our cabin. We stayed in the Cricket cabin which is right along the creek with a fire pit, hammock and swing. When we return to Asheville we will definitely stay here again! read more

We spent our anniversary here and to say it was Beautiful is an understatement when it comes to describing the experience we had here. It was AMAZING!!! The cabins, the view, the staff, the choice of activities. It's everything you want and need for your getaway. And it's just miles from the Blue Ridge parkway. Beautiful cabins, exceptional clean, quiet setting .......can't say enough about our recent visit to Mountain Springs Cabins. We were looking for a cabin close to Asheville so we could visit our son and his family who recently moved to the area. We were delighted with our " find". We love MSC and have held two family reunions there. The group voted unanimously to hold our next one there, too! You couldn't find a more peaceful place, beautiful scenery, nice cabins, proximity to lots of activities. The babbling brook was nice to listen to, and we enjoyed meeting Sampson, a friend to one and all, the dog from the farm next door. We stayed in Duck Tavern at Mountain Springs Cabins just outside of Asheville, NC in May of 2014 and the place was simply outstanding! A very peaceful and romantic setting in a log cabin by a stream surrounded by beautiful flowers and views. For four days we enjoyed our escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Will definitely be back to this gem. Low key, laid-back and off the beaten path while still close to plenty of convenient locations. We visited in August 2015 and had the best time fishing in the stream, reading in the hammock and enjoying the fabulous weather. Cabin is very clean which is always a nice feeling. read more
