An FYI for those ordering wine here. I ordered a full case in the beginning of December for the holidays. Amount was over $203. Have not ordered since then. Low and behold, another CHARGE was deducted from my bank account on January 6, 2021 for exactly $100 by MOUNTAIN VALLEY WINERY. This is blatant internet fraud as well as theft. DO NOT USE A BANKCARD AT THIS EXTABLISHMENT. YOU TOO, MAY END UP BEING A VICTIM. When a phone call is made to correct this, all one gets is a recording. Karen was an amazing guide for us. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and was never pushy. She let us try several wines and then talked about them. We love Mountain Valley and generally can't wait to return after we leave. I am struggling a bit with this review. The wine was fabulous as usual. The service was not. Kristen was just not welcoming on this visit. We brought two friends for the very first time to this area and couldn't wait to bring them HERE to Mountain Valley. Kristen was friendly to the other 4 people at the tasting bar we were at and less than welcoming to us four. It is not enough to make me cancel my membership and never return... but it was enough to make me NEVER do a testing with Kristen. read more

The server Kristen could not have been more rude with making snide little comments & the rolling of her eyes in clear irritation/annoyance. She has a really snotty attitude & made our wine tasting just miserable. Maybe she should think about NOT working with the public. HER CALLING PEOPLE HUN & BABE DOES NOT MAKE HER DEMEANOR ANY LESS HATEFUL. The wines were good but due to her stinking attitude, the 4 of us decided we will NEVER be back. There are way to many other wineries & moonshine options in the area, do yourself a favor & save the headache by NOT going to this one as long as she is there. This was our last stop on the little wine trail we went on last Saturday afternoon because the traffic in the area was just terrible. Fortunately, they were built to accommodate a larger crowd, a few different tasting tables separated by a little bit of space. Like the rest of the trail, you can choose to try up to 4 wines for free, and there were only 3 dry wines- so as usual, we tried all the dry wines and they had a sparkling wine as well, which helped them stand out from the other wineries. We did enjoy the sparkling and one of the dry wines, and the service here was great and the man was very informative. One of the wines which paired better with cheese was served with a little piece of jack cheese, and it was delicious. I always appreciate when wineries go above and beyond wine tasting and incorporate some foods into their tasting as well. They didn't make the cheese themselves, but one of their affiliates did. Of course it was overpriced to purchase, but it was nice to enjoy a taste. read more

A few friends and I stopped in to taste some wine and overall the wine was okay. If you like sweet reds this is definitely the place for you! They only really have sweet wines so if you want anything else definitely stop somewhere else; however, we received the worst service of our lives here. I understand this is a very touristy area, but there was absolutely no reason for Kristen to be rude to every single person who stoped by her bar. She snatched our IDs from our hands, slammed wine glasses down in front of us. She even rolled her eyes at us when we asked questions about the wine. To top it off, I asked if there were any semi-sweet reds or if she had any suggestions. She poured me a sample of a tart wine that I didn't particularly care for. After I told her I didn't like it, she snapped and said "we'll that's all I can do so just buy this" she went on to try to cash me out for a bottle I don't want. I told her again that I didn't want this bottle and she just kept telling me to buy it anyways. With a final eye roll, my group decided to leave with nothing. I understand customer service jobs suck, especially in a tourist town. But Kristen, I think it's best for everyone if you find employment elsewhere. read more

I love the idea of tasting EVERYTHING before I decide what to buy. As we rode into what we were warned is a dry county, we quickly panicked and began looking for spirits in this strange land. After stopping at more than one place we believed would sell wine but didn't, we found this place. We rushed in ready to make our purchase but stopped when we smelled the opened wine. After exchanging puzzled looks, we noticed the tastings. When we found out we could get in on the tasting (anybody can), we were really excited. We forgot about our friend who was waiting in the car and began tasting everything on the menu. what a fun stop!!! In the end, we left with a bottle we both enjoyed (Mountain Peach), one for her (Mountain Valley Red), and one for me (Mountain Berry). We enjoyed the different flavors that were very evident in these wines. The guy told us we could visit the other two wineries in the area and we'd then receive a free gift and that certainly excited us but we never got a chance to do that. I would definitely advise someone visiting who also had plenty of free time to check these out. read more

As I am only a teenager I shouldn't have to write a review for this but i went in with my parents to watch them taste and to look around at some of the gifts they have.... I walked with my parents (both of which are well over 21) to an open bar. The bartender was a women by the name of Kristine. She came off a strange when we first walked to her bar. She asked if all 3 of us were tasting my dad said only him and my mom and clarified to her that I was underage and wouldn't taste. I was standing talking to my parents not involving her in our conversation she then poured my parents the first taste. After she poured my parents there first taste she gave me a dirty look and said "not trying to be mean but get off my bar" with a very cocky and rude attitude. I got off her bar and she told my dad there are laws and If she lost her job he would be paying her bills. I got mad and asked my mom for the keys to the car. She gave me a dirty look as I turned to walk out. My parents later told me that she was very rude and cocky multiple times throughout the visit not only to them but the other costumers as well. They said at one point she even told a costumer he could leave after he showed disappointment over a wine being out of stock. This is just a representation of bad character and bad costumer service. So thank you Kristine for ruining our fun. read more

Mountain Valley is part of the Rocky Mountain Wine trail. It is by far the best winery on that trail. The service was amazing. The wine is the best in Pigeon Forge. The location can be hard to get in and out of, but it is definitely worth the traffic trouble. read more

Nice small wine tasing. If you are looking for somewhere quick and efficient to taste some wines, this is a great place for that. Within 30 minutes or less we tasted 6 kinds and bought 6 bottles (4 different kinds). Pretty happy with the experience and our guy was really guy. read more

This was our final stop on the Rocky Top wine tour. I understand that we came during a holiday weekend, however we were treated rudely from the staff. When our wine was poured at the back bar, the bartender was snipey and was acting as if we were a burden to her. She didn't explain the wines and was basically rushing us out and was irritated to answer questions or take the time to interact with us. The Rhubarb wine was the best of four but we didn't purchase based upon how we were treated. read more

I think they forgot about fermentation. We tried 6 wines all from their not so sweet collection. Well they all seemed too sweet. Not sweet and full like a desert wine, more like a spiked Grape Juice or Wine cooler. There is a small tour behind the wine shop of the process of making wine but I had a tough time paying attention to the tour guide who lacked the passion for wine. He and a few of the people doing the tastings mentioned they liked beer better. Well I like beer better than their wine. The one positive I left with is my mother is new to wine and really likes sweet reds so I bought her a few bottles. It at least provided a break in the travel day from Maryland to Atlanta. read more

So we came across this place on our way out of town, heading back to the great buckeye state. It was a Sunday morning and they were open for tastings!! herrraaaayyyy!!! Once we walked in ........'NOraaaaayyy!" Customer service was just.......well it was absent. This is a place where their wine trumps their employees. I haven't had a horrible experience here but it has differed. I think that it has to do with their tasting stations having 3 sides and 1 to 2 employees manning wine station so its not totally personable but they do try and its understandable. They offer tours of their facility if you ask, there's just not much to see when its off season, but its still nice. Their wines are also nice. If you're there in the winter ask for their Winterfest wine. Or really always ask about their seasonal wines that aren't listed. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Word to the wise though, their wines will definitely be sweeter. So if you're a dry wine person, this may not be the best place for you... read more

This is one of the five vineyards in the Rocky Top Wine Trail. The area for wine tasting is spread out, but well done. Very good selection of wine gifts such as bottle holders, glasses and cooking items. Similar selection to the others. The building is beautiful. It's all rock and similar to an old castle. Very unique. We haven't gone through the tour of the wine making yet, but I would like to. The staff are always pleasant, but our server was not that outgoing. We enjoy tasting any and all the wines before we buy. Definitely a stop we make when we go for wine tasting. read more

Our sampler seemed a bit bipolar - she would go from being over-the-top friendly and sweet, to short, impatient and borderline rude. Didn't really go for service though! This was my least favorite of the wineries we went to during our trip to the area. The only thing I really enjoyed was the fact that they have a large parking lot and it was easy to park. The service was bad from the start. The person helping us was not friendly, didn't talk to us much about the wine and just seemed like she didn't want to be there. It just felt like a wine pouring assembly line. The wine was also below average. I would say this should be your last choice for local wine. A nice stop on your way though Pigeon Forge. This is one of the better wineries on the Smokey Mountain Wine Tour. Make this one the second stop. It is one the right side of the road so no crossing traffic. The staff is great. They are always willing to tell you about the wine and just have fun. It can be busy on weekends. They do have plenty of stations but there can still be a wait for a tasting. But this is a must stop for a wine lover. read more

The wines were not good. They were very sweet and did not have any depth. If you are looking for a wine cooler type drink then you may like this. If you like wine, you should skip this. The wine pourer was interested in getting us to taste as quickly as possible and kept calling us "honey" and "sweetie." Her customer service was too sweet as well, and again, with no depth. read more
