This winery is in the Pigeon Forge island. We walked in and I asked about tastings. It's $5 to try all or 3 for free. I went with the 3 for free. I started with the Cabernet + a muscadine grape and it was the driest, so if I could tell it was probably a 2.5 RS. The other wines were very sweet, but I didn't mind the peach wine. This isn't any fault of them and that they can probably own grow sweeter wines in the region based on the location. Not sure if they're able to get dry grapes from other regions such as California, but at the end of the day sweet wine does good on sales.

Only getting a four-star because I couldn't drink just a single glass of wine... otherwise the vibe is great and the wine slushies are delish!!!

Ingredients list. I'm assuming I paid $25 for a bottle of water with flavoring and sweetener

While on vacation I enjoy trying local wines. I found these quite sweet and not exactly my preference but I decided to patronize them. I had no idea the bottles were $25 each. I did buy 6 bottles as I got 2 free which basically lowered the price per bottle. I was quite disappointed when I read the ingredients.

We went to the Island location in Pigeon Forge. The wine was great. They had new flavors we hadn't had before. The server Rachel S. Was very friendly and informative. We will definitely be back.

THis one has a story behind it. Got invited to a drum circle in Gatrlinburg by my girlfriend's son…read more We went out that morning to see Cades Cover (big mistake - it was Memorial Day) and swung back around through Townsend (stopped at Mountain Man to have a craft brew on the way). Knowing we were going up to the arts district, I looked for a place to meet them before the circle and saw there was a Celtic Pub. Only that was the spot where the drum circle was. And, to my surprise, it is the same owner as the Fox & Parrot Tavern in Gatlinburg, one of my favorite English pubs (and currently closed do to a feud with the US government - hope that gets fixed). The place is definitely British country feeling. Very nice tap list, including both local brews and standard UK brews. Heavy wood feeling with a very nice deck outside, which includes some spots under cover (which was important as it rained on the circle and people had to duck in). There is nothing elegant about the place or the food. But that is its charm. The fish & chips were on point, esp. with the malt vinegar. Shepherd's Pie a bit salty for my tastes, but not to the salt lick level. Also came with chips. As for the drum circle, if you are reading this in June 2026, that is every Monday at 6-8 PM through the end of the month. I got some great drone footage of the circle, which I added to this review.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in the area, Rampant Lion is clearly a family-run business…read morethat focuses on making social connections over quick get-food-and-go. It's pretty cool. I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.

You need reservations; if you don't have them, you risk getting turned away. It's a husband and wife running the entire place. No extra help. They want you to stay and relax and enjoy everything. We only stayed 90 minutes and they tried to get us to stay longer. Like all the reviews say, it's a very European experience. We've never experienced anything like it. We started with an old fashioned and a margarita from the daily cocktail menu. Olga welcomed us with a hug and took us to our table. She didn't stay out long because she is the chef! But it was still cool to interact with her in the beginning. Both her and her husband made us feel like family. It started pouring and he walked outside with an umbrella and held it for 2 girls at the bar. I thought that was super sweet. We ordered the salmon roe caviar and it was divine. Our second course was the oyster flatbread and I ended up being sad I was sharing it. It was that good!!!!! We were pretty full at this point after a couple more drinks. They were really busy too, so we decided to go ahead and get the check. It started raining right after we got our check, so we ended up getting one more drink to wait it out. We had the best time and can't wait to come back!

While we were walking the Arts and Crafts Loop near Gatlinburg (I HIGHLY recommend this as well), we noticed this wonderful-looking restaurant nestled away in the green forested hills across the street. We opted to come back here for dinner on our last night in the Great Smokey Mountains. Sooooo glad we did! Owned and operated by a European couple, the Red Oak has the ambiance of a quaint European restaurant that one would find tucked away in the Alps. While the inside atmosphere is wonderful, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the very quiet and beautiful forested hills of Gatlinburg. Service was incredible and very European - they told us they would not bother us unless we asked for something and that the table was ours for the evening. Yep...we stayed there for three hours, sipping our wine and trying various dishes of exquisite flavor. I'd like to say try this or try that, but to be honest: all the dishes we tried were absolutely phenomenal. We cannot wait to try this place again!
