I am from San Diego, CA and was spending thanksgiving with some friends in Bend. Our BMW 325 blew its fuel pump on the up to bend from SD. We were in a panic and looked for any quality import service station. We found The best in the Biz in our opinion. They completed the work in 24 hours, not to mention we were impressed. However, our fuel tank gasket was not up to par and would not seat right. So when we filled our tank gas went pouring out. We waited until the following Monday After the holiday. They were so apologetic and professional and took us right away and fixed the issue. Not only was the issue repaired so quickly they filled our tank back with gas and gave us 2 25 dollar gas cards!!!!! That is service that is not seen in our country these days. I recently bought two used Audi vehicles (both daily commuter cars) and had both inspected and serviced at Mountain Vew Imports. The auto shop is very transparent regarding service scheduling and orders parts to coordinate with the available service times to minimize the vehicle being in the shop. Completely satisfied with all services performed on my cars, from simple oil change and routine maintenance to fairly complicated repairs. Mountain View Imports provided an estimate to repair any issues with the vehicles without inflating the repairs required. Mt. View was recommended by our long-time mechanic so we took our Audi there, spent over $2,000 in repairs. After waiting two weeks, we picked the car up and it barely ran, had to have it towed back to Mt. View. We were not happy! They cleaned spark plugs and car ran okay but just broke down again, less than two months after their repairs. We needed to have it towed in again and Mt. View refused to take the car and won't warranty any of their work. We were leaving on vacation the day after their first attempt at repair and needed that car for transportation for a family member, had to turn in our rental car, hence our frustration, but for them not to warrant their work and refuse our car is inexcusable. read more

We honestly think we would have. They were honest, not quitters, and kept at it until the beast was fixed. It came back once, they honored our deal. The third time was a small problem with a minimal price. We would highly recommend this business to anyone, family, friends. They are just really good decent people. If you're looking for an honest mechanic (and who isn't), Mountain View Imports is the place to go. I am new to town and have a 16 year old Acura which has always been serviced by Acura dealers. Here in Bend however, there are none. So I was referred to Mountain View Imports from an Acura owner's website. I've had to visit twice in the last two months for different issues. To keep it short, both times the work took less time than promised, and both times the final bill was less than the estimate. I agreed to $436 on one particular job, and the final ended up being $378. They could have easily charged me the $436, and I would have never known the difference (and I would have still been happy). Trish told me that the job didn't take as long as they thought it would, so it cost less than expected. Believe that! I'm a customer for life! Thanks Trish and Jonathan! read more

I brought my 1974 BMW 2002 in because it wasn't getting a spark. The mechanics said they could fix my classic car. After waiting 2 weeks the charged me over a $ 1,000 and the car ran so badly I could barely drive it home. I had to have it towed away from me house a few days later. They should have never accepted my car if you don't know how to fix a certain make and model don't say you know how to repair it. NEVER bring a older German car there. read more

They serviced my 1999 Mazda Miata, discovering a faulty throw-out bearing and leaking oil coolant. They also recommended se real other maintenance items, but I chose to replace the clutch assembly and fix the leak at this point. They got the parts and completed the job quickly, the new clutch feels great and no more spots on my garage floor. It cost a bit more than I'd hoped but was consistent with the estimate, so I'm not complaining. Clean shop, friendly and knowledgeable folks. I'll use them again!! read more

RIP OFF WARNING! I needed an oil change and dropped my car by. They charged me $172 for AN OIL CHANGE!!!!!!! The dealership only charges $69.95. They charged me 26.34 for an oil filter that the dealership MSRP is $15.75. They charged me $84 for synthetic oil. They charged $5.18 for a "courtesy inspection." If it is a courtesy that means its free, if it is a charge that wasn't asked for that means its an unauthorized charge! The courtesy inspection said my serpentine belt was cracked and so were the upper control arm bushings. I had them replaced with TRWs 2 years ago. They also said a transmission flush and filter were need, but that was done less than 4000 miles ago. When I talked to them they said there was a markup on the parts and oil that they charge clients, but that it was my fault for dropping it off and not asking for a price quote before the work was done. What a load of unethical scam artists, ORS646A.482 says they shall prepare an estimate before work. read more

I hate writing bad reviews but for this place there is no other option. 1. I was not provided an estimate to authorize. If I had been, I would not have approved them redoing work another shop had just done at more than triple the price. 2. I have a comprehensive insurance policy and the owner said they would coordinate with the insurance for me, but after explicitly telling them they had to call before they started work, they did not and thus the insurance denied coverage. 3. The price was outrageous. When I was checking out I could hear guys in the shop mocking customers for saying the prices are too high. I'm sorry, but they are. 4. They didn't even call me to tell me my car was ready for 2 days!! Now, 2 weeks later, my 2015 car (not old!) is on the fritz again, likely due to their work since this is the only problem I've ever had with this car, but my experience here was so awful I won't even return to make them take responsibility (nor do I trust them to find and fix the problem). After an initial hopeful call with Trish who is wonderful and helpful (and should probably get another job somewhere else), it was all downhill. read more

Have taken my 08 Audi to these guys 3 times now and they have been excellent. Had some trouble shooting electrical issues and they were awesome about treating me fairly with the hourly cost of tracking it down. I used to manage a shop in Tahoe City and can say from experience they went the extra mile not to over-charge and take care of fixing it right...trouble shooting electrical isn't always easy. Also- I looked into the poor review posted about over-priced oil change and cracked belt and the shop owner actually comped the bill to keep a happy customer- but I know from experience that isn't always possible, no matter how hard you try. My 75 VW convertible needed some brake work, after having sat for too long, so I gave them a call and they told me they would come get my car, as they didn't want me to try driving it with cracked and leaking brake lines. They came to my house, checked out the car, explained what they would do and off they went! What a relief. Excellent job. Fabulous prices. These guys are awesome! We were on vacation in Bend (from Portland) and drove over 16 miles of unpacked chip seal (thanks for nothing, ODOT!) while we were out exploring. Our Acura SUV started making terrible metal-on-metal screeching noises so much so that we were scared to drive it. We were in the boonies so when I got cellphone service I called around to see if anyone could help us (there are no Acura dealers in Bend). Mountain View was the only place that talked to me and said they'd take a look as soon as we got there. Christian said it sounded like a rock was stuck in the brake rotor. When we pulled in, their mechanic said it was the worse sounding rock he had ever heard! They said it would take about 90 minutes to fix. We asked if they had a shuttle but they didn't. However, Christian handed us the keys to their sweet Mercedes SUV and gave us directions to a Butte where we could eat lunch and explore. About 90 minutes later he called to say it was fixed. When we got back, he said they had gotten about 30 asphalt-sticky rocks out that were stuck between the heat shield and the rotors. They even did our requested tire rotation. The whole thing was only $153 (which I'm billing to ODOT!). Christian and his team totally saved our vacation. Such customer service is rare in the auto service business and if we lived in Bend we'd be their #1 customers. I am not one that normally takes the time to do a review on a business, but the service we have received from Mountain View Imports on several different occasions has been outstanding! Where do I begin? They get you in for service promptly and keep their commitments to finish the job in the timeframe estimated. Their communications from beginning to end are great. We've enjoyed meeting both Jonathan the owner & Trish who manages the front desk; every encounter has been a pleasure. The personal attention shown reminds me of "old school Bend" where people know your names and history with their business. What impressed me the most? Their honesty. When we went in to get our car aligned at another business, we were told it needed bushings but when we took it to Mountain View Imports, found out that wasn't the case and they were honest to tell us that. They coordinated the alignment with a reputable shop Then merely passed on that cost to us, nothing more.They didn't even charge for their time! Then today, when we went to pick up the car after they worked to problem solve an issue we had; they discovered that a tire company had left off a part that caused a flat tire sensor to fail and even gave us a picture to show what they found! Again, they didn't charge for what they could have for their time. Now I am not giving this review because we weren't charged for some things, but because I can trust them to do what is right and for a fair price. We would not take our car anywhere else! I needed an opinion from somewhere other than my dealership on a diagnosis code for my 2013 Mitsubishi and Jonathan McGillivray squeezed my car into the schedule within an hour of my call. He and another nice guy did this at no cost. He also checked for possible manufacturer recalls, as well as Technical Service Bulletins to try and help me. If my vehicle wasn't under a warranty for service work, I would definitely go back. I gave 4 stars because of their helpfulness, efficiency, and convenience for me, but not 5 stars because I still left without an explanation of the problem, which was not theirs to solve. read more

My husband and I were traveling from Colorado, and got a "check engine" light in our brand new Winnebago. Bend was the closest city, so we called 4 auto service centers before we called Mountain View. Nobody was willing to help us. Mountain View was honest in that our vehicle was too big for them to service, but at least they could do a diagnostic test for us. It turns out one of the glow plugs in the engine had burned out, and would not effect our ability to travel. While we were at Mountain View, they also checked our DEF level, and refilled it, and our gas cap, just to be sure. The mechanic had to call to several different Mercedes Benz service centers in the state to find out what the code meant. None of the MB service centers were very helpful. I appreciate the professional courtesy and the wonderful attitude at Mountain View. When one is so far from home and having vehicle issues, it is wonderful to find a place that is willing to do all they can to help you get back on the road safely and as quickly as possible. Every employee was courteous and very kind. I love an auto repair shop that puts the customer needs first. Thank you, Mountain View. read more
