Scammed! Damage not addressed! Have no other recourse but to write on Yelp Tricked us into a SHORT truck. Not responding to damage to my new home. From the start, Movaholics talked us into accepting a smaller moving truck than we said we wanted. They assured us that they were professionals and that they would able to move the amount of boxes and furniture we listed. Because of the many good reviews on line, and because we had had a bad experience with another national moving company, we decided to trust in their experience. The truck they arrived with was very short. The movers had to make two trips, and we had to fill our 3 cars, in order to get almost everything moved. There were 3 carloads left for another day. As wee were being charged by time, it added to the cost of our move. It was not what had been promised. After the movers had gone, we discovered that damage to wall and baseboard had occurred and been covered up by moving the bed off center to hide the damage. It felt very sneaky and unprofessional after we had fed the movers and had exchanged kind words at the end of the long day. Photos of the damage and a letter were sent to Movaholics on Oct 11, 2018. We received a response right away, with an apology and offer to send a repairman or cash settlement of $75. Due to the extent of the damage , I asked for the repairman. I have sent 3 letters (with additional photos) between Oct 13 to Oct 21 asking for/accepting the choice of the repairman and have received NO RESPONSE. It has been 10 days since my last email asking to schedule the repairman. I feel I have no recourse but to post my experience here. I would like to post photos of the damage to my bedroom wall and baseboard on Yelp but see no photo option. Furthermore, before I found the hidden damage, I recommended this mover to friends. They also asked for a truck large enough to move a large household and they also got a very short truck. Their move went on til past 3:00am in the morning because they did not send enough movers and had only the one short truck...more than 14 hours of moving! It pains me to have recommended Movaholics to friends. I would not have done so if I had not been misled about their fleet of trucks. It appears this company does not operate full-sized moving trucks. They were not up front about this to us or to our friends. Be WARNED. This company cost us more than United would have charged us due to the time they spent driving back and forth loading their short truck. In addition, they damaged my home and appear to be ignoring my requests for reparation. read more

We moved this past weekend in 100+ degree humidity and without Moveaholics, I am not sure we would have survived! I am definitely going to mess up the spelling of their names, but we had Javo and Yuldash helping us out and they were quick, and very careful. They moved our entire 1050 sq foot condo into a 1200 sq foot, 2 story home in 3 hours! They had to wrestle our mattress a bit to get it up the narrow, steep stairs, but that was probably the worst thing all day. The company was very professional and confirmed the appointment a couple of days ahead of time which was very much appreciated. These guys are superheroes - simply put. I am still in awe - they worked about 14 hours straight through numerous obstacles to make TWO full trips from our move from West Windsor to Princeton two days ago. To provide more color on what they were up against, while still remaining professional and laser-focused after 14 hours: torrential downpours all day, road closures and construction in front of both houses, a very steep incline on the driveway at the new house, a choppy spiral staircase broken up to SIXTEEN mini landings from entrance to attic, with at least half of the boxes going up there, unique and tight spaces to fit things like a refrigerator and an elliptical through, and a massive bookcase (they didn't need to break it down somehow). They also helped to pack any remaining items with us and provide guidance to keep things moving. My husband and I remarked all day "We are so glad we hired THIS team." I honestly can't imagine anyone else accomplishing this particular move with this much stamina, professionalism, organization, maturity and speed. Alex and Joey were outstanding! They got the job done today in record time, despite facing many obstacles with a rather messy move. I had been nervous about it because it wasn't possible to organize the move very well in advance. But nothing defeated them, they handled everything professionally and quickly, and were very kind and understanding of the difficult circumstances. Alex, Max and Joel took our two bedroom out of a 3 story building and into a two story house in less than three hours! Nothing broken, no hidden fees, no issues at all. They took furniture apart and put it back together, all within those 3 hours! We were so happy with our decision. If I could give 10 stars I would! Michael and his large crew of guys were wonderful from start to finish (and then some!) we have done more than 10 cross country and local moves over the last 15 years and I would hire Michael for every move we ever do in the future if I could! They were so conscientious. They were super careful with everything. They were efficient. They were incredibly friendly and nice to work with, to a person! They were on time, worked quickly, and were amazingly affordable! The biggest indication of their incredible thoroughness I can give is what happened the day after our move. My husband had packed a small duffle with his last minute stuff (which he should have just put in the car, but he didn't!) One of the movers put it inside a half packed storage bin that was next to it in the bedroom. We went crazy trying to find the bag the night of the move and the next morning. I frantically texted Michael to see if it was left on the truck, etc. He came by the next day before his next job to look around for it, and then brought his entire crew back later that day to help me pull the house apart looking for it. They finally found it in the bin, and while they apologized profusely for sticking it in there to begin with, the fact that they cared enough to spend that much time helping me look for it was really notable in my book. read more

We hired Movaholics for a local move a month ago. At first I was a bit skeptical given there is not much online presence of this company except for on Yelp. However they seemed legit on contacting them and speaking with them on phone. I also contacted another fellow Yelper who had given them a 5 star rating to know about their experience. They assured me that they had a good experience with Movaholics. Also based on some of the reviews I was worried that they would bring a short truck and we would have to make multiple trips since we were just moving a 1 bedroom apartment. But I was wrong and they brought a big enough truck to accommodate all of our stuff. On the move day, Alex and Joey helped us move our stuff from a third floor apartment with stairs to a ground floor apartment about 4 miles away. They were careful with our stuff and handled everything professionally. They were quite fast and our entire move was completed within 4 hours. We had a lot of stuff but they arranged everything well in the truck and also provided us with wardrobe boxes to carry out clothes. Alex, Max, and Kozim were an all-star team today! These guys worked their butts off, while remaining very polite and professional the whole time. For over 7 hours there was absolutely no slacking and no breaks. They took apart furniture at my old house and reassembled it at my new house. It was amazing watching the Tetris-like way they fit everything - safely - into their truck. They even were able to manhandle my 200+ pound elliptical, moving it from a 2nd floor to a basement! The whole move took around 4 hours and the guys showed great attitude and skill, as there was a heavy sofa bed that had to be brought down a flight of stairs. First, I should star off saying that this is NOT the company I dealt with in 2016. I see all the reviews still up for Michael and his crew, and this is no longer them. Second, when I called and asked if it was still owned by Michael I was told I couldn't be given the information. I found this odd, but continued with the process anyway. I was told I would have 2 movers and a 26ft. truck for a one bedroom and a full basement unit. I expressed that I knew I had very large furniture and a ton of boxes. They showed up with a 20ft truck instead which meant we had to make two trips - my 2 bedroom dressers were all that wouldn't fit. If the correct (promised) truck had arrived, we would have been fine. I also was disappointed that I was told that I had too much stuff. I know that. That is why I hired movers. I didn't hire them to shame me about the amount of stuff I was moving. My issue mainly is with the dispatch. They were NOT upfront about being a new version of the company I knew, they did not send the right truck size, I had expressed that more than 2 movers may be needed - only 2 showed up, and I was the only job of the day (Sunday move) and they showed up with 10min left in their 2hr arrival window. I was so happy with Movaholics in 2016, I was happy to use them again. But this is a totally different company and not one I will be so quick to use again. Each issue was small, but collectively they don't add up to good business practices and I was left feeling disappointed about the whole encounter. Rarely do I put in reviews, but we had such an excellent experience with the Movaholics team I have to add to their positive reviews. We needed an upright piano moved immediately as my daughter was starting lessons. I jmessaged them on Yelp and received a very professional response right away. Even if they were booked for the month, they accommodated us on a weeknight within 3 days of my initial inquiry. They arrived promptly, wrapped up the piano at the seller's house, then transported it to our house 20 mins away. Let me save you time by stating up front: hire Michael & Mov-aholics. Just do it. If you're still reading, here are the details about our excellent moving experience with Movaholics in November 2016. Specs: from 3-story, 3+ bedroom plus garage and basement to a 3-story, 4 bedroom, garage, basement etc. 10 minutes down the road. All the standard items (beds, couches, drawers, office furniture, etc.) plus box-spring, upright piano, treadmill, large BBQ/grill, tanks, nursery gear. Added complication: about half of the furniture in the old house (= partially furnished rental) was not going on the truck, but we had half a house worth of our own furniture stored in the attic that was coming with us in its place. Set-up: Michael replied to my inquiry via yelp within 24 hrs with his team's availability and quote, we booked and stayed in continued easy contact by email and text through move day. His recommendations for the number of movers and truck capacities for our stuff were exactly on point. Move: Michael and his team arrived on time (I'm German, so that means 5 min early), were courteous, professional, patient, quick and cheerful despite numerous obstacles we threw at them, including but not limited to: my toddler vomiting all over the stairs as they walked in, our bouncy 40 lb dog, multiple pick-up sites (both our house and neighbor's for piano), directions for what furniture stayed and went (see Specs above), narrow attic stairways and doorways, hoisting the box-spring over a second-floor balcony (small, Victorian-era stairwells were a no-go), and much more. All the furniture and boxes wound up in the correct rooms at the new house and there was no damage to any of our stuff. Time: With a 1-hr break for lunch, our move took about as long as predicted (5 hrs), certainly could not imagine a speedier move for everything involved. In sum, we could not be happier with the service from Movaholics and could not have done it without them. At first, I was a bit skeptical because the owner communicated through text due to a hearing impairment but I was pleasantly surprised on moving day. They were timely and extremely professional. I would definitely recommend using Movaholics for your move. Michael gave me a completely reasonable quote to move my one bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, due to a few issues, I had to keep moving the date and location. Michael was patient and kind through the whole process and I know I must have driven him crazy. They brought all the equipment they needed and even had a pair of straps that I could purchase to secure my items. They moved my stuff to either the truck or the dumpster as I requested.
