They were very affordable as compared with many other services we called. They were responsive whenever we called with questions or to confirm. On the day of the move, they arrived on time with their big truck and team of guys. They were careful with all our furniture, even making sure to wrap our glass table carefully or put covers down on the floors so they wouldn't scratch anything. They would call out to each other to watch corners and light fixtures. On a hot, humid July day, I'm glad I had their muscle. They were also super friendly and communicative, always asking if things were going in the right area of the rooms. They never complained if we asked to move something to a different room or even about the crazy heat. They barely took any breaks and gave us some advice on where to place things, which I appreciated. I'm really glad we used them for our move!

The guys who showed up (half an hour late) were perfectly nice, but obviously had very little moving experience and also moved incredibly slowly. After it took TWO AND A HALF HOURS for them to load the first half of our stuff (and we just have a small one bedroom apartment), I finally gave up and started moving stuff too, because I was afraid we wouldn't get out of our building in time. I'm a pretty small female and I was able to move more stuff than they did, and that was in between me having to explain to them basic things about how to move (e.g. helping them figure out how to fit stuff through doors and into the elevators). My two favorite moments had to be: 1. Halfway through all three guys took a load of stuff down in the elevator (don't ask me why that required three people), and in the time it took them to come back I moved the entire rest of the contents of the apartment to the area in front of the elevator. When they finally got back, they seemed impressed and said, "wow, you're fast!" Thanks, but isn't that THEIR job? 2. At one point I saw one of them carrying a small table that has casters on it. I said, "You know you can push that, it has wheels," to which he replied "not anymore!" and showed me that he had somehow managed to snap off one of the casters. It ended up taking six hours to move about 30 blocks with these guys (compared to the seven hours it took when I moved to Philly from NYC with actual professionals). Again, they were perfectly nice, but you could get the same level of help by showing up at a college campus and offering free pizza to the first couple of kids you saw. If you want to pay for professional movers, use a company with actual professionals.

This appears to be a pattern of dishonest behavior, not a one-time mistake. I'm reporting him and his so-called business to the Better Business Bureau and urge anyone else who's had a similar experience to do the same. Do not trust this person with your money or your home.
