Michael and one of his helpers helped me move from the Princeton area to a walk-up in Astoria and I'd highly recommend his service. They were very responsive with giving me a quote for my move (I paid a flat rate for loading/unloading and the roughly 2 hr drive) and leading up to the actual move. On the day of the move, Michael was incredibly punctual and wasted no time, but still managed to be extremely careful with my things. All my furniture was wrapped in blankets and secured and they also reassembled my furniture in my new apartment. I'm not sure if Michael does moves within NY, but if he does I would use his service again in a heartbeat. read more

Akmal and his associate/friend were amazing! Trustworthy, friendly, and extremely easy to deal with. We weren't happy with the way our bed was assembled initially. Based solely on the numerous good reviews on Yelp I hired Movaholics. Mike and his team arrived promptly at the appointed time. The job was to finish packing and load the 26 ft truck I had rented to transport my belongings from Freehold NJ to Buffalo NY. First thing was a quick walk through to see what still needed packing and to get an idea of the pieces of furniture and boxes that would be going. The whole team then set to work!! Great care was taken to protect the Victorian home I was leaving. Packing was done very efficiently. Items were staged to simplify loading. Movaholics made me realize my only mistake was not having arranged for them to handle the entire long distance move!! You won't go wrong with these guys - you pay by the hour and they each work all 60 minutes per hour. Everyone in the crew went out of their way to do the very best job possible!! read more

Unfortunately I did not have the same experience everyone else did. My wife and I planned a move with Moveacholics a little over a month ago for a 9am start, we even did it during the weekday( I took a ay off work for this move) because we know how hectic the weekend could be. The day before the move happens we get a call asking to move our appointment to 12pm... my wife agrees. The next day 12:00pm rolls around no text no call.. Okay not a problem maybe they are busy..1:30pm rolls around.. No text no call... We decide to call their office.. of course as most reviews state you will go directly to voicemail. 2:30pm rolls around and we finally get a call from the office saying they are running behind and we will receive a text when they are on the way. 4:30pm rolls around and we receive text from Mike saying they are still running behind but almost done. At this point I ask to cancel the move 1) because it was way past the time we intended to start 2) they would have been moving us during heavy rush hour traffic. I felt we were moved around for a client whose move was probably a larger haul then ours since they charge by the hour. They lady on the phone who originally booked us said our move would only need about 2 hours, I hired another company and the move was about 6 hours. While all the five star reviews stand out for Movalcoholic I cannot recommend their service. read more

We hired movaholics to move us out of our 3 bedroom house into a larger house about 5 miles away. Not only did the owner and crew show up on time, the owner came the night before to help us plan the move and prepare some larger items. Crew was professional, efficient and honest. Nothing was damaged and they hustled right till the end. They deserved every penny and then some. I truly recommend their service to anyone in the area. I don't like posting negative reviews, but my experience with Movaholics was really disappointing. The guys worked really hard, but were careless and negligent in the way they packed/wrapped furniture. There were numerous items that were damaged. We all know these things happen, but honestly it could have been avoided. At the time, I didn't trust they would actually follow through on their word, so I held back ~20% of their payment ($280) and said once hey fix the items or replace I would happily pay them. That said I still tipped the guys $200 because they didn't make these mistakes with malice. What makes this situation so frustrating is the way that Ariel handled all of this. They told me they could find a furniture specialist to fix the mirrored night stand, fix the scratches on another nightstand and chair and fix frame of my pottery barn couch which a leg was lost. After 2 weeks they said sorry we can't find anyone to do this work and basically walked away. They said your $280 is all we can do. Completely unacceptable. You get what you pay for and this case I bought a bunch of negligence and a company who doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes. Buyer beware. read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys and would highly recommend them for your move. Courteous, respectful, polite and professional. I had a real pain in the neck move, taking half the contents of a rather large home and moving some to my sisters house 30 miles away and the rest to a 3rd floor walk up condo another 30 miles. Michael was excellent and in constant contact, providing me with a great quote and actually getting things done faster than expected, resulting in an even cheaper price! There was some very heavy, awkward furniture and the guys made it look easy. Not one scratch, nothing broken, no marks on a walls/floors, etc. They treated every piece like it was priceless, wrapping each in moving blankets and shrink wrap. I can't believe how smoothly things went and how stress-free they made the process. Wish I had found these guys sooner. I've used a lot of movers and these guys are by far the best. I have moved several times in the tristate area and I had always felt cheated by the end of every service. My experience with Movaholics was exactly the opposite. Amazing service. These guys were awesome. Very efficient at wrapping up my stuff in blankets and then getting it safely down three flights of stairs and outside to a couple of moving/storage boxes. They also packed the boxes really efficiently, almost squeezing everything into just one, and coming in right at the two-hour minimum. This review is a little overdue since I used Movaholics around 4 months ago (Jan 2016). I was moving my all my bedroom furniture from a house into an apartment. This included a queen sized bed, dresser, desk, night table, love seat sofa and many boxes. First, communicating with Michael online before the move was seamless. He responded pretty quickly and never left me hanging. Then, the price quoted for the service was very reasonable and competitively priced compared to many other moving companies I looked into. When Mike and his moving partner came, they were very courteous and swift with the entire move. The moving trailer was beautifully clean so I didn't need to worry about my stuff getting disgusting. They also moved me to my new apartment so quickly and efficiently that my total came out to less than the quote. I would highly recommend them to anyone that's considering! read more

This is the first review I have ever written for anyone but absolutely cannot miss this opportunity to rave about the Movaholics. From start to finish Michael and his team (5 guys) were nothing but polite, helpful, respectful and made our move completely stress free and seamless. We have relocated with large moving companies before and this was the most stress free move we have EVER had. We moved locally into a new home and have large furniture, mirrors, artwork, etc. I was very nervous using a smaller moving company but was referred to the movaholics by two friends who raved about them and I decided to trust their experience. I am so glad I did. Michael was very patient and responsive to all my questions for the month leading up to the move. The day of the move they showed up on time and all politely introduced themselves and explained the process and went to work. They took amazing care wrapping our items as well as the house when moving things. Although it was local it was a lot of rooms and a very large move. The even dismantled a Pool Table and managed to move it to another floor of the house even though it was terribly heavy and created the job more difficult than originally anticipated. The entire move took 2 trucks and 14 hours and they truly worked EVERY second of that time. The most amazing part is that after so many hours of working so tirelessly they all didn't run out my door at the end. They actually stayed to chat and say goodbye and were pleasant from start to finish. I know they must have been completely exhausted and ready to end the job but they were true professionals the entire time. The price coupled with the level of service they provide truly can't be beat and I will continue to use them for any moving needs that I have going forward.
