As a person who loves bouldering, it sucks to have a wrist injury, preventing you to climb. I read a lot of good things about MoveMend Rehab and I wanted to check them out to see if they can give me information on my injury. They have a free 30-minute consultation to assess your situation which I think is a great feature of their service. I had the pleasure of working with Sam who's very experienced working with other climbers. Sam was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and attentive. I discovered more about my wrist injury, and even about the anatomy of my wrists. Because of this, I'm able to be more self-aware when I climb in the future to decrease the chances of me getting injured. Thankfully I found out that I only had TFCC irritation. The facility is a moderate size and they have plenty of rehab equipment for their patients. It's nice and organized as well. The parking outside isn't the best. Some tight parking and can be limited. Overall, I am very pleased with what MoveMend has to offer, and if I'm ever injured from climbing again, I'd come back here for evaluation. read more

I came to Move Mend with issues with my thumbs and wrists, a result of using computers for 40 years. On my penultimate session, the therapist asked me if I wanted some custom braces for my wrists. She asked me to call my insurance and ask "Do i have durable medical device coverage?" So, I did simply that. I called them up and was told, Indeed, I do have this coverage. On my last visit, which was happening around the start of COVID-19 (early March 2020), the therapist spent about 10 minutes creating these wrist braces right in front of me. A few months later, I was sent a bill for about $250. Apparently my insurance didn't cover the exorbitant invoice that they'd created for this. I think it only paid about $43, which seems about right for the work done. I emailed them, explaining that I did not feel I owed this bill. I did was what requested of me, I called my insurance and was told that this was a covered item. I went one step further, and asked them if I could pay 50% of it--but they refused and said they were going to put me into collections. Well, I am now in collections. I'm getting calls and letters nearly every single day for a measly $250 that I won't ever pay out of principle. read more

Being billed for a second time (for the full year's amount) after having to correct my address multiple times, and they are still sending erroneous bills to the wrong address. This is why the medical community has such a terrible name concerning services and poor billing/over-billing. The below is what I wrote in July with all the crap they put me through (I decided not to send because I thought they fixed some of their issues and APPEARED earnest and apologetic): I saw Aaron Shaw twice for what MAY have been tendonosis in my forearms. It was 2 visits and a giant bill for basically a talking to and exercises to temper myself to cope with pain, also suggestions for alternative pull-ups. They tried to get me to come back for more visits and I couldn't see the value after two lectures and not a lot of breakthrough solutions or exercises or anything that felt like, "yeah, I see how this could work." Today I get an EMAIL to pay by Friday or suffer collections because they have been sending bills and haven't had any response. I examine the bill and they have been sending it to the wrong address all this time. Even after I call them to see where my bill is and verify they have the correct address for me. NOT ONE PERSON THERE PICKED UP THE PHONE TO CALL ME! Be warned! Bad business. read more

After back surgery I had occupational therapy for my hand, physical therapy for my back rehab and subsequent shoulder therapy, and now do regular training sessions (aka "physio-coaching") to maintain and improve strength, endurance, stability, etc. I can't say enough positive things about these people and this place - it has been life-changing. The main focus seems to be mostly on helping more elite/accomplished athletes get back on track, but if you're a "regular" person like me you don't feel any less of a priority. The physio-coaching is pricey, but worth every cent, particularly since every single trainer is an accredited physical therapist. I love it here. read more

I really like this place. Friendly staff, bright and clean facilities, easy scheduling and for me: great results so far. My PT is Barbara, we started working together March 1st (can't believe it's only 30 days!) on addressing knee pain due to cartilage issues. The short summary is: she is very encouraging, fun to work with, challenges me in the right places and my knees are happier than ever (I started to go back to running after about 3 years of no running). For me she hits the exact right spot of making sure I have progress but helping me not going too fast and risking that progress. The longer story: I had been doing some PT work since November (in a different state) but was still not back to being able to doing my usual activities such as running or playing tennis. I had asked for a PT who is active herself (Barbara plays tennis and is a runner). During our sessions we usually did strengthening exercises, sometimes some manual work on the knee and stretching. I got some homework exercises (sent to my email address with link to videos/explanations on how to) for strengthening as well. I never felt overwhelmed by the amount of homework exercises (sometimes PTs think you have 2 hours a day to do your homework exercises...). I loved how Barbara kept the sessions challenging (expect some sweating!) but never went too far and checks in often to ensure we hit the right level of challenge. She was super mindful of how my knee reacted to exercises and pulled back or progressed exercises accordingly. What was very valuable for me is that she encouraged me to try stuff that I thought my knee can't handle but it turned out it was fine - so she did some psychological work too. She helped me set the right expectations and evaluate the knees' reactions better - it's okay if if there is some discomfort, it's not okay if it's pain for days after a run. She recommended starting a diary for my activities and monitor the pain levels in my knee which helped me realize my knees are fine more often than not. After having had knees issues for so long I was quite caught in this mindset of "my knees can't handle anything". I recently went snowboarding and am still surprised how well my knees held up. We will soon move on to some agility work and I am super excited about that part. This will be under their personal training program (not Physio Therapy anymore) since I am officially discharged for my knee. I was thinking about doing personal training for a while and am super happy they offer that and can keep working with Barbara. I expect to be back to playing tennis in no time (no pressure, Barbara... :-)). The only critic I have is that I LOVE MANUAL THERAPY (it's like a massage to me) and I was somewhat sad that we did not do a lot of that. But I also understand that what my knee needed was not more relief but more strength - gotta put in the work... Some other notes: - The front desk staff is super friendly and funny too. It was easy to make appointments or switch them around. You get email notifications and reminders. - The facilities are clean and bright. They have a big room with some cardio machines and space for doing weights or exercises with boxes and all kind of equipment that is shared by everyone having a session at that time - but I never felt it was crowded (max of 2 patients at a time with plenty of space). There are also treatment rooms where I always started my sessions so there is privacy to discuss treatment plans or do manual therapy. read more

As an adult who has never had any injuries in the past, I had no idea what to expect from PT or even how to get the help I needed, let alone know what help I needed! Erin my PT at MoveMend used quantifiable methods of assessing my injury to thoroughly screen me and understand what was going on. She helped me come up with an action-oriented plan for reintroducing sports back into my life at the appropriate level to aid with my recovery without aggravating my injury more. I have seen a variety of physical therapists through out my life. Some for hairdressing pains, some for snowboard injuries and now for a severe accident, I have been going to Karan Greeley. I am very analytical of my body and extremely aware of how to use it. Unfortunately I've been challenged with getting all my injuries correctly assessed from this recent major accident. Aaron (Occupational Therapy) helped with my shoulder issue and handed me off to Garrett (personal training) to strengthen my shoulder and body. I have been seeing Mica for less than 6 months but am finally pain free for the first time in 2.5 years! Standard physical therapy did not work for me, I completed it but still had chronic pain. In mid-April 2021, I went to see Sam Watkins for pre-op PT for shoulder surgery. I had just had a very painful flare up from calcific tendonitis as well as the beginnings of frozen shoulder due to the calcific tendonitis. My mobility was extremely limited (getting dressed was a challenge), but after about six-eight weeks my mobility was back, and I had decided to hold off on the surgery. I am able to again do the things I love and I feel like my shoulder is stronger and more flexible than it has been in a long time. I appreciate how Sam makes an effort to explain the how and why behind the regimen he prescribes, and this was motivating for me as I started to see physical improvements. I really messed up my Knee Snowboarding early this year and went to MoveMend. They were able to quickly find the exact problem as well as a few others that I had been living with that I didn't realize and were contributing to my knee being prone to injury. As someone who sits at a desk a good portion of the day, I was thrilled to discover that Aaron does ergonomic evaluations. I had been struggling daily and was never able to get comfortable at my desk. I had ordered a couple of items that I thought would help me, i.e. a back roll and a cushion for my chair. Mostly these just added to my discomfort and I spent a good part of my day adjusting and readjusting my set up. By observing me doing regular work tasks and taking photos of me at my desk, Aaron was able to asses my posture, my chair height and my computer monitor position, among other things I was totally unaware of. The suggestions he offered me ranged from a few simple tweaks to purchasing a foot stool and a document holder - nothing extravagant. The advice he gave me has made a positive difference and I'm so much more comfortable at my work station. Of course there is work on my part and I have to remind myself to correct my posture and position at times, but once I do, I can settle in and be productive. I work as a registered nurse, and have worked in labor fields and have crashed my mountain bike more than I like to admit prior to this career - meaning: I have put my 5'6" 130# body through a lot of challenges and I still do. She helped me identify what parts of my spine and body were actually causing the pain, how they were related, and what I could do about it.
