I was given a 9-11 AM arrival window and although they arrived outside of that window (truck issue) they notified me and gave me an updated time frame. When Reggie and Ronny arrived they were courteous and immediately got to work wrapping my dressers and loading the truck for transport. I was worried about the dressers not fitting into the new place but they carried them in like a breeze. Even better, they were done with 20 minutes to spare. The dresser was scheduled for pickup on 10/21, not 10/25. He confirmed a 6-9pm window that day, despite being told three separate times--during booking, immediately after, and again via text--that pickup needed to happen before 9pm because of storage unit closing times. His claim that his phone was "off" after 4pm doesn't hold up as he texted me the day after at 5:32pm. The narrative that I was "aggressive" is a convenient deflection. The driver was sarcastic and dismissive almost from the start, and when I responded in kind, he decided to rewrite the interaction to cast himself as the victim. After being confronted with his own words and quoting him verbatim, he eventually admitted his behavior was inappropriate, though it took several denials to get there. Also, the part about him moving his schedule around to accommodate the pick up is also a very creative rewrite. A quick glance at his reviews--both here and on uShip--shows this isn't a one-off. This isn't retaliation, it's simply a warning: there are plenty of professional movers out there. You don't need to deal with someone who confuses basic communication and courtesy for optional extras. Original review: Avoid this company. Communication is unprofessional and the service unreliable. On the day of pickup, the driver stated he couldn't arrive until after 9 PM and suggested I move a heavy piece of furniture outside the storage facility and wait for him there -- an unreasonable and unsafe request - especially if he were to cancel last minute and then I'd be stuck with a piece of furniture that I didn't have the vehicle to move and could not take back in my storage facility. When I declined, he became rude, sarcastic, and argumentative. Ignoring communication, missing agreed-upon times, and responding with hostility is unacceptable. Understand that scheduling can be tough, but at least keep your clients informed. I had a 4 day window for a pickup. Contract said they would notify me 24-48 hours in advance of exact p/u time. Nothing. A few hours before the window closed, was asked if they could extend window 1 day. Said yes but only in the morning. Noon came and was told they were 3-4 hours away. When he dropped off our furniture, a mirrored nightstand, I noticed that it was very well wrapped in a moving blanket to prevent it from being damaged on the way. We thought that he would just leave the nightstand near the front door, but Reggie actually moved and placed it in the master bedroom where it needed to go. I was incredibly stressed as to finding a moving company move from NYC to Boston- first you have to fill out forms, and then deal with incessant phone calls with quotes, and then deal with trying to gauge who is shady or not, and who you can trust with your items (or not). Reggie helped my husband and me move on 3/4/17. Communication was great leading up to the move and he would get back to me pretty swiftly via email. I was expecting this to go extremely well because he had such excellent reviews on Thumbtack. We were quoted a 2-4 PM arrival window for the move, and Reggie said he'd call about an hour prior to when they'd arrive with a better estimate. Around 3:15 I got nervous because I hadn't heard anything, so I called and called many times before he called back to tell me their first move was taking longer than expected because they "added stuff." He said they wouldn't be at our house until 6 pm and that he'd update me in an hour and a half or so. He never updated me, I had to call him again and again before he picked up to let me know that in fact it was not going to be until 7-7:30 that they could move us. They finally arrived around 7:45 (3 hours and 45 minutes later than the latest time in our window) and completed the move by 10 pm, which was great--they were very efficient. Reggie also added a fourth guy at no charge - we initially only had 3. They were all very polite and friendly too. Reggie also apologized in person. Moving is an extremely stressful thing, and I was getting worried that the move wasn't going to happen because of the lack in communication. I realize the price may be lower because Reggie also moves things himself, so he can't pick up the phone all the time, but I just ask for prompt communication and follow through on your word. read more
