Eamonn was terrific in setting up a time to FaceTime with me to see the contents of my home to give me an accurate quote. While a bit higher than the other quotes I got, he explained they would rather give out the upper limit in advance so there are no surprises on moving day (which has definitely happened to me in the past). My moving day team, led by Ryan, took exceptional care of all of my belongings and were so efficient. I had one minor hiccup (a water bottle holder on my Peloton went missing), but Eamonn was terrific in helping to resolve that issue. They are worth every penny! read more

They made moving during an uncertain and stressful time as smooth as possible! They came with four people and got to work right away. They had a great method for moving clothing that I was actually going to move myself later. They left the place as empty as possible. We moved from Jersey City to Hoboken on a Saturday. In Hoboken we had paid for them to put up no parking signs for the truck but the city for some reason missed putting them up and because it was a Saturday there was not much we could do. They had to block the street (with police keeping a look out) and unload everything quickly. They did great under a stressful situation! We moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. The whole process took about 8 hours. They were very reasonably priced based on everyone else we called and were more flexible than most of the places we called. read more

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews when trying to pick a moving company. The last thing anybody wants is to trust people to move all your belongings and have it go wrong. I actually found the company on a different website but the reviews there were promising and nothing here contradicted that. I got several quotes before I booked a company and admittedly they were slightly on the high side, though not the most expensive -- just a tiny hair above the average quote I got. I decided to go with them because I wasn't willing to risk damage to my belongings or my new place. I'm so glad that I did! David responded to my request for a quote right away. He asked me the right questions and gave good answers to my questions. He understood that I didn't know how many boxes I would have by the time I was done packing and said I could call back the day before to get a revised quote if needed. It's a flat rate charge, and not based on an hourly rate so I knew exactly what to expect on my moving day. The only thing that I didn't expect was paying either with a cashier's check or cash to avoid a small extra fee. But they told me in advance and I know credit card companies charge businesses that accept credit cards, so I didn't mind. John and his team were terrific. They came ahead of schedule to pick up my things and exceeded my expectations at every step. They so were quick and efficient. I was worried about the floors and walls (freshly painted) in my new place and they took my concern seriously and were very careful unloading my things. I was seriously amazed every step of the way at how quickly they were able to do everything without ever getting sloppy or seeming to rush. I can't say enough good things about top notch moving ! I used them for a move from Hoboken to Wayne NJ. Communicating with Dave prior to the move was transparent, very responsive, and easy! The price quoted was very reasonable, and I paid what was quoted. The movers arrived on time, had to deal with Hoboken parking rules, 3 flights of stairs, AND snowy/icy conditions. Top Notch Moving did a phenomenal job moving me into my new home. One of the least stressful moves I have had. They were on time, packed and handled all my items with care. They were profesional and very pleasant to me and my family. At my new place they unpacked and set up everything for me. From all the furniture in the bedrooms (even hung up everything in my closet!), to my sectional sofas, and my large heavy marble table. Debbie was also of great help as she was there to unpack all my fragile items and set up in the kitchen. I have moved plenty of times in the past and this was by far the easiest move yet. Moving can be such a huge hassle. In choosing a moving company I was bit worried about the cost and if they would do a good job. I was extremely happy with Top Notch. The guys went above and beyond. Joe was very meticulous in disassembling my furniture and reassembling it at the new location. Tyler and Nick shrink-wrapped and secured all my furniture for the move. We made a cross country move in June 2022 from VA to WA. We actually used a company who then contracted Top Notch Movers to complete the move for us. The entire experience was a disaster. If I ever had to make another long distance move, I would sell all of my belongings, except those most precious, and move myself. First, we had to give a window for pick-up. There was little communication as to when our pick-up would be completed. I had to call Top Notch and they still could not confirm until 24 hours prior to pick-up. Panic ensued because they could not come until the day before we were closing on our house. The team that showed for pickup was extremely nice, very professional and we initially thought very highly of their work. We were rushed into signing all contracts. There was never any clear communication regarding drop-off or payment at drop-off. Of course, reading a contract is the signer's responsibility. But much of our dissatisfaction could have been curbed by simply telling us the company's policies upfront. Once we were finally able to access our new home in WA, we waited over 2 weeks for drop-off. We paid at pick-up with a personal check. Less than 24 hours prior to drop-off we were being told, very rudely, that we needed a cashier's check. Again, panic ensued because we still use a bank on the east coast. I understand the liability taken by the moving company if we were to pay with a personal check, but the man I spoke with also threatened to keep our things. All was well after he spoke to my husband and the employee offered another way of paying, which had never been mentioned to me. I found the entire situation extremely sexist and demeaning. The driver from NJ was obviously carrying belongings of other families. Local individuals were hired to unload our things. We were told they would stage and put furniture back together. This was a blatant lie. Pieces of furniture were scattered all over my house. Hardware mysteriously went missing. I spent an exorbitant amount of money replacing hardware specific to my son's bunkbeds and weeks of waiting to be able to put the bed back together. Almost every piece of furniture was broken and/or damaged. The hardware to put the legs back on our tv went missing. The tv itself is shattered. We are missing boxes. We have boxes belonging to other people despite my husband trying to tell the movers that those things did not belong to us. The legs to our couch were removed and are no where to be found. I expect bumps in the road when making such a large move, but this was a miserable experience. We paid an incredible amount of money for this move and are entirely disappointed in how we were treated and how our things were handled. Perhaps Top Notch is very reputable when making local moves, but beware if they are hired for anything long distance. read more
