I worked here. There are roaches in the ice room. Popcorn sits in the warmer for days, giving people old popcorn. And the fountain drinks are dirty and sticky.Managers pick favorites and treats some workers like garbage and some like the apprentice. I would be made to do things by another employee when all be did was sit in the box office while other managers sat in the box office laughing and giggling with employee. Watch a manager come in from break smelling like pot, and a manager that's vapes during the job which is unacceptable. The managers have poor management skills. read more

Seriously impressed! Even though you may miss this place by blinking, it is truly a hidden gem. At first I was extremely hesitant when I saw this place. I was even more hesitant when I only paid $19 for a newer movie. However, after I saw the theater showroom I was pleasantly surprised. They offer a wide variety of snacks at the concessions, as well as the usual Pepsi beverages. I purchased three small, but substantial, drinks and a large popcorn with one free refill for $21.25. The theater has plush, leather-like chairs (no recliners) and the entire place was either clean or being cleaned; this is a very tidy place. The best part yet was after traveling to two larger, more popular theaters and told they were sold out, this place was wide open. This place is great to take kids and family for a night at the movies. You can enjoy a movie, popcorn, and drink without having to take out a loan, which is required at most theaters. read more

This movie theatre is a hidden local gem and I am amazed with the prices and how clean it was! They may not have the theatrics of Island 16, but it was amazingly satisfactory. For thirty dollars total INCLUDING MOVIE TICKETS. My husband and I were able to see a movie, have two large drinks and a large popcorn with a free refill. We will be coming here exclusively to see movies when they come out because the price is right and it's right down the road from where we live! read more

I have been meaning to write a review for quit some time now, as I've been coming to this theater for 23 years. I come here just about every weekend and during that time frame I have seen it switch owners a few times. One of the major reasons I come here is because all the theaters are on the same level/floor. Making it more easily accessible for those in a wheel chair or with other physical disabilities. What adds to it making it a great experience is the staff. They are always friendly, respectful as well as very helpful to everyone, all movie goers. They make sure its a clean and safe theater, taking pride in where they work. Things like the counters always getting wiped down or the floors swept up of popcorn and other little bits of garbage. Both management and staff are responsive and reasonable with requests and try to keep the movie theater a fun enjoyable atmosphere. Theater ticket prices are fair as well as the snacks and soda. I mean $6 for a ticket before 4pm on the weekend is definitely worth it. Another thing, from coming here as long as I have, I've seen them host many kids parties. Both the adults and kids seem to enjoy themselves. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Anytime you stop here on the weekend please feel free to say hello and I'll tell you in person. Went to see a scary movie with some friends at an 8:30 PM show on a Friday night. The theater was full of obnoxious teenagers who were not there to see the movie and were intent on ruining everyone else's movie experience as well. Someone complained and management came in and asked them to be quiet, five minutes later they were back at it. Cursing, screaming, being overly rude and confrontational to people asking them to be quiet. The management didn't seem to have any intentions on following through with these kids and allowed them to continue to ruin the movie for others. read more

Food and drinks are WAY overpriced. The biggest room they have; their screen has a bunch of holes (or spots?) in it. Not 2 or 3, I mean like a lot of them. It's very distracting. You'd think that with how overpriced this place is, they'd be able to fix their screens. The gaming machines they have are, literally, the worst I've ever tried. I worked here and now that it's shutting down I have no need to hold anything back, Nicole was the biggest asshole I've ever seen, she seems nice on the surface but no one knows her true colors, long story short she got fired for Vaild reasons after i was there for a month, we had a couple managers come and go and I was there long enough/was helpful enough that the old owner trusted me to become an assistant manager, when he had to sell the place, the four new owners immediately brought her back, and she hated that I was a manager atm, so she immediately demoted me without an actual reason but whatever, the worst part is she would absolutely pick favorites instead of running a business properly so me being an extremely loyal worker, I payed it no mind, then she sliced my hours in half, so much so that it would just be a waste of time to work there, so yeah the staff I wish them luck cause they were nice but Nicole is the worst type of person to become a manager, she will take a business and make her home... and I'm being literal there were times where she was basically living in the movie theater. Having her meals in the fridge THAT HAD DRINKS FOR CUSTOMERS. So yeah rip movieland the only things I'll miss is some of the staff, the doodle jump game, and that's it. read more

The movie theater is small and uncrowded and has a good selection of movies but the food and drinks is way overpriced. On another note as i was watching my movie the tape starting freezing almost as if it was stuttering i am very disappointed. I did pay 10$ for my ticket so i guess it is expected. But lastly the staff is very nice and respectful. read more

It's truly a great value and a place that I hope will keep it's prices down. I feel that for the price, you get a nice experience at the movies. You may sometimes get stuck in the really small theater, but you also don't end up paying $12 to see a movie. I've been going since I was a kid and I enjoy it there. I've been going there since my kids were little.....now they're in the late 20's, so I've been going there for a few years now. They could clean the place a little better, but you can't beat their prices. Now that we're a couple of old farts, we get senior citizen tickets for 5 bucks! The seats are comfortable enough, and more than once, we've pretty much had the entire theatre to ourselves. Even when it's crowded, you don't have morons yelling out to the actors on the screen.... My son and I went to see "No Escape," with Owen Wilson... My goodness talk about action packed, suspense thriller! We were on the edges of our seats throughout most of the movie. Now on to the actual theater. We saw the movie tonight, Thursday at 6:30 pm. We were the ONLY two people in the theater, so we were able to talk during the movie when there was a shocking part or whatnot. The theater is very small and simple, regular rooms with pleather high-back seats and cup holders. Do not expect stadium tiered or leveled seating, there are no steps. There are roughly 60-80 seats per theater. The screens are big enough. There was a dark mark in the middle of the screen (theater 5) that made the viewing experience somewhat distracting and annoying at times, but you can't do anything to fix it, so why complain. The reel skipped a couple of times... May have been the copy they got or could have been their projection system, I'm not sure. The episodes were minor but big enough to comment on. The tickets were $9 a piece which are comparable to the bigger movie theaters, I feel like $7/person would have been a more fitting price. The actual theater/building has outdated decorations and is slightly maze-like. I'd be interested to know how much matinee seats are. The theater reminds me a bit like PJ Cinemas except PJ Cinemas is nicer quality (more modern, multiple levels, better prices)... Whereas the biggest draw for Movieland is that the movies are more recent (sometimes PJ is like second run movies). Would I return? Most likely. read more

I took my kids to see Inside Out here recently. The theater needs an overhaul. The bathrooms were old and gross. The theater was tiny. We were there early and still had to sit in 2nd row from screen. Speaking of the screen it was covered in dust and had splatters of soda (or whatever!) all over it. If it was a "bargain" theater I would be more forgiving, but I paid the same price as I would have at any other local theater. Will not go back here. read more

Best priced movie theatre in the area. Not as crowded as other local theatres. Ample parking. Nice experience.

I mean if you are a local, this place holds great memories. Local school sells tickets for cheaper to raise funds. Us parents benefit from the cheap entertainment. Hello! We live in one of the top most expensive counties. Small business that I feel is a local treasure for its neighbors. It's not chain movie Cineplex material and if that's what you are looking for there are two not that far. Go there. We've been going here since it opened its a great little theater and they make the best popcorn! They always have the latest movies and the prices are much lower then other theaters. Terrible movie theater. Be careful if you see a movie that isn't R rated. Tonite, the theater was full of unsupervised, loud, obnoxious kids and teens who couldn't care less about seeing the movie. There is absolutely no security to keep people in check so they don't ruin the movie for other people. And you can't get your money back - anyone want my free passes? Because I won't be going back. And when I asked for security in the theater to help, I'm told they can't do anything when there are that many kids. Really? Seems to me you're more interested in the $ they are bringing in than the experience and sanity of the adults who actually want to see and hear the movie they paid for. I don't understand how they can continue to operate that way. I am beyond disappointed. read more

Prices were great. Movie theater is in okay condition. Someone needs to clean the bathroom. There were 5 stalls in the women's room and only one was clean enough that people were using it. This made the line ridiculously long. There was actual feces on the floor in more than one stall. read more

WORST THEATER EVER I've been to Movieland three times now- like Chelsea D. I usually go to Loew's or PJ Cinemas. Movieland has been terrible enough to warrant my first ever review written online. The first time, we went to see Moonrise Kingdom and there was a large group of loud teenagers that we asked to be quiet. No luck and no help from staff, but okay maybe not their fault either. We went approximately 1.5 months ago to see The Conjuring. Movieland had set up a Children's Party literally right next door to the theater- I said something to a staff member and there was absolutely no change. The children were screaming during the entire movie, ruining any suspense it may have had. At the end, they gave us four free passes (without me asking for them) when I said that the noise never abated. We went back tonight to see the World's End figuring we couldn't possibly have such terrible luck a third time. A crackhead family came in about 20 minutes into the movie- with three terribly behaved children (completely inappropriate movie for them)- and upon entering the lovely woman in the family loudly exclaimed "What the f*** where are they". They proceeded to filter into the front row and talk literally nonstop. Asked them politely to be quiet once, twice, three times. The guy with the family left and came back loudly multiple time and was clearly wasted. When we left the theater he was walking around the lobby with an open can of beer. This place is an absolute joke and not worth your time unless you're a low life who enjoys talking through movies. When I complained to the staff and pointed to the guy clearly waltzing through their lobby wasted with a beer in hand, the guy came up to me and started threatening me. They offered us more free passes but I would never go back to this theater, we ripped up the two we still had. And I'm a poor graduate student so saying no to something free is not common. There are two types of people that attend movies: Type one, people that want to watch the movie. Type two, people that want to kill time and a movie seems like an ok place to be, or people who want to get out of the house and can't get to the mall. DO NOT go to this theater if you are the first type. My boyfriend and I attended a movie here not too recently and the theater was packed. Usually this is a good thing. It is not so much when everyone there is holding a conversation, so much that you can hear them over the already too loud speakers. Everyone was texting, and there is nothing worse than having a super bright light in your face, in an otherwise dark room. The girl next to me was actually calling someone on her phone "What are you doing? Me? I'm at the movies. Yeah I am not really sure whats happening. Do you want to hang out later? etc." When we had finally had enough, and we stayed through a bit, we really wanted to see the movie. We went and complained to the manager. Why had no one walked through the theater at any point? Why did they let this go on? He was unable to do anything and turned us to his wife. She tried to convince us that since we had stayed for half it couldn't have been that bad. Well it was pretty awful and we may have been in there for half the movie length, but we did not see half the movie. Finally we got our money back, and she actually said "Don't come back. We don't want you here." Well fine, we won't be back, we will do our best to make sure no one comes back, and we hope your business fails in this economy. read more
