We visited opening night Jurassic World Rebirth. Pre buying tickets is definitely the way to go to reserve seats you're satisfied with. We opted for the regular version (not 3-D). The movie itself was fabulous, the poor movie etiquette of the person sitting next to me I could have lived without. Comments about everything and on his phone, this was an adult like grow up man. The actual facility was mediocre. In that if you're trying to be impressed at this place or going for that exciting vibe, you won't be. It's plain Jane, nothing wrong with that. The atmosphere was tame. There was a bar available and concessions. My friend used the bathroom and said it was dirty. It was around 8 o'clock on a Wednesday night, I feel like they could have done better. Walking into the actual theater (6), it was warm, muggy and dank. I thought maybe because we arrived before the show time the AC would amp up later... it did not. There were also 35 minutes worth of advertisements and previews. Pro: do it yourself butter!

AMC Loews Stonybrook 17, nice theatre but it does need some carpet shampoo, especially around the soda fountain

Here's the Scoop: My honey & I haven't gone to the movies in a while. So we decided since we were at one of our favorite diners for a late breakfast that we would check out what was playing at the movies that we would like to see. The movie "Sinners" was playing at 12:30 pm. OMGoodness! This movie was well produced and directed. The main actor Michael B Jordan and the cast was awesome! The movie was thought provoking and scary. It was about 2 hrs long. I enjoyed it thoroughly. just being at the movies with my honey, Comfortable seating, clean, the sound effects, vibrating seats and popcorn. A win, win! Check out this movie if you get a chance.

I loved the movie and the surround sound it was so cool but the food tasted funky otherwise I loved it

I joined Stubs A List with the promise that I can see four movies a week. Well this week coming up four of the movies playing are excluded. Rip off!

Josh? Time to re-evaluate this AMC

10 years ago I wrote a review for AMC, after this weekend I knew I had to write an update. This is our hometown AMC. My sons? Now have girlfriends and don't want to hang out with me. Wifee? She doesn't like the movies, so I'm the lone wolf with a bucket of popcorn. Josh G wrote a two star review and made me aware of the theatre. I took my kids here Thanksgiving Day to see Toy Story, now I'm looking at this jacked up theatre with no reclined seat or surround sound, this place suckkks... I start going on Friday afternoons to Garden City AMC, they have an escalator? Awesomeness. Until now. I booked a Sunday 7am movie to see the Avengers in Dolby sound. Me personally, the 3D thing is starting to get on my nerves. I thought Dolby was the regular vanilla showing. Or so it seems. Walking it, I smell fresh carpeting? I turn the corner and see reclining seating? What movie magic is happening in Stony Brook? Now the movie starts. It seems the Dolby theatre is lit for Dolby Surround Sound! I mean, even the seats are vibrating! I am *loving* both the movie and the Dolby sound. Each seat has a tray which is a little much. The seat controls have 4 settings, I had to use my phone flashlight to figure it all out. I dialed in the seat settings and starting watching the movie in total surround sound. Heaven. Think about it, Garden City & Lake Grove both have Shake Shack but who has better pizza close by? Garden City **SUCKS** for pizza so after the movie it's AMC Lake Grove for the win! And don't tell me about Ronkonkoma or Island 16 where I grew up. I mean, they don't have a 5 Guys on the south shore! AMC in Stony Brook Seawolves with Dolby surround sound for the total win. Now fix the other theaters.

This movie theater is very large and it has a decent amount of different theaters which is good. The snack bar is a little expensive though.

We were a group of four but the table seemed like it was meant for six or even eight. The dining room is very spacious and they even have a private back room for events and parties, which looked to be buffet style from what I could see. The bar and counter area was really long. Plenty of space to dine and watch from any angle. There's even a back patio next to the parking area where you can toss the beanbag and play some outdoor games. Serving mainly bar food and casual dining options here. The menu online is very different from what we were given. Think sandwiches and wraps. With a small selection of entrees like grilled shrimp and steak (generous portion) or burgers. Started with the French Onion Soup as it was a cool evening and I wanted something warm for starters. It was quite salty and it did have plenty of onions. Meh Hubby got the steak and shrimp I mentioned before, generous portion on the steak. My son got the steak tips with mashed potatoes. He did enjoy that. My daughter opted for the grilled cheese with bacon and a side of fries which was actually on the kids menu. Not found on the regular menu presented. I had the French Dip (meat was very chewy and the dip was actually more of the onion soup!) This came with a side of fries but I asked to change it to tater tots since it was an option. They were a little mushy, breaking down with each stab of the fork. So afterwards I realized we didn't get the wings or the burgers they claim to be the best in town, but we noticed the other patrons got wraps and wings. Looked quite saucy. Next time.

Between the warm, cozy atmosphere and a live band playing, it felt festive without being chaotic. It's exactly what you want during the holidays. We went full "let's share everything" mode, starting with the Wood-Fired Artichoke-Spinach Dip Pizzetta, and wow. Spinach, artichokes, béchamel, shaved parm, mozzarella, garlic dressing, and baby arugula all working together in perfect harmony. Easy 10/10. I'm still thinking about it and already planning my next visit just to order it again. Next up was the crab rangoon dip, which was rich, indulgent, and dangerously good. Followed by the beer cheese jumbo pretzel. They wee soft, salty, and exactly what you want alongside drinks. Zero regrets. We wrapped things up with the Kung Pao Cauliflower Bites, and they were such a pleasant surprise. The tempura cauliflower stayed crispy, the General Tso's-style sauce had just the right balance of sweet and heat, and the cashews, sesame seeds, and scallions added great texture. Drink-wise, we shared a bottle of wine from their solid selection, but I also have to shout out their massive cocktail menu, so many options that I'll definitely be back to explore it properly next time. The cherry on top? We made our reservation on Yelp . Between the food, drinks, live music, and overall atmosphere, Husk and Vine was a total win for a night out. Can't wait to return!

The old back room had been transformed into an official party room with a separate bar and restroom and closed off with decorative barn doors. The bar area offers ample seating, with the dining area ( offering table service) behind the bar wall overlooking the main stage. Greeted warmly greeted when we first entered with only a five minute wait ( we had a reservation and I highly recommend making one). Again warmly welcomed by our server Nicole who provided an outstanding service throughout the evening. Nicole was friendly, engaging and offered excellent dinner and drink suggestions. Live music was on tap on this Friday evening which did make the dining room rather loud for holding table conversations but worth the live music being played that evening. The cocktail menu offers a good and varied selection of mixed drinks and wine and the mixed drinks are both flavorful and expertly presented. I would highly recommend both the Flappers Folly ( a refreshing floral mix) and the Espresso Martini drinks. Started off with the hot honey & bacon brussel sprout appetizers which were perfectly flavored with the honey and bacon bits over crispy brussel sprouts. All main dish items were very good. The Old Sport Burgers were juicy, flavorful and all cooked to perfection served with crispy string French fries. The French Dip Au Jus was well seasoned and not to dry with a flavorful au jus. I would highly recommend the Gatsby Grain dish bowel. Shredded chicken served over jasmine rice and vegetables was outstanding and served with a side salad. Restaurant manager Cathy was very visible in the dining room checking in with every table and asking for feedback which you don't see very often nowadays. Even got a personal tour of the new party room ( looking for a location for a future event). Overall good food reasonably priced , excellent service and nice decorum with live music offered on the weekends. A great place to grab a drink and listen to music while catching a great burger or the Gatsby Grain dish bowel . You won't be disappointed.
