The seats are comfortable. We went with friends to see a comedy show last night. We didn't know it, but it turned out to be a fundraiser for the Rotary Club. There was a bunch of unexpected Rotary Club fol de rol, including the entire audience standing to recite the pledge of allegiance. The comedians were uneven. We have seen one other show there, the excellent Gary Gulman. The schedule seems to feature tribute bands and musical genres of the past 50 years. I assume this reflects the preferences of the board and the exigencies of booking a relatively small venue. Happy to support this local institution when they host something we're interested in.

Once seated, I start to sip my beer without my mask on. An usher walks over and tells me to mask up. I tell her I'm drinking a beer? Listen, I'm fully vaccinated and I don't care what your believe. Everyone needs to chill out, at the time the theater was pretty empty. The theater itself is well maintained and the acoustics were great. JB Smoove killed it on stage. Parking was easy, I pulled up and snagged a spot in front of the theater. We didn't stick around but JB Smoove took a few pictures with the fans. Nice night out in Westhampton. I would return but my only issue? The ticket prices are generally higher than other Long Island venues.

It's a lovely theater in a lovely little town. If you've never experienced the Hampton Theater Company's work, this is a great place to start. You will become a fan. I forever hold a special place in my heart for this Company. My first experience there was in Crucible, long ago. Years later they are still going strong, in the loving and capable hands of Diana Marbury. They have a terrific repertory of performers -- including my John Proctor, Matt Conlon, who plays Sherlock Holmes. If you are on Long Island you must see this show (it opens later this month) and experience this brilliant community of artists. www.hamptontheatre.org

More dogs' stuff than cats, but I found things for my cats and the cat lady, me! The owners, Barbara and Ron, are such a warm couple. I interacted with Anthony, who helped me pick out some cat-like items for myself and my cats. Cats' stuff are located upstairs. I like this place. I had a chance to meet some guests who happened to be there and spoke with them. The owners have a cute, energetic dog that greets people at the entrance too. This place is so inviting. I would come back if I'm in the area. Of course, I got something for myself and my cats! The great store is owned by great people.
