My experience with Moving Ahead Services was outstanding and more than I ever expected, I have no negative comments to make. I first spoke with Matt who explained the process to me and set up a convenient time to meet with me do an onsite estimate. Because my space was small, other movers who I had called were not even willing to physically even come out to give me an onsite estimate, but Moving Ahead had to drive 1.5 hours to get to me and they came out! That was first thing that impressed me! I told Matt all my concerns and I went with Moving Ahead because of the good price and the way my belongings would be cared for, packed and transported per my instructions and preferences. Matt even sent a run from Columbus to Cincinnati prior to the move with boxes only. On the day of my move Jon was the move supervisor and was very professional and polite and understood all my concerns and he and his crew of Tyler, Trenton and Ethan all were very accepting of my concerns and were very professional and concerned that I was happy. Since I was moving off a high rise dock, they put Ethan down with my belongings at the truck, so they would be safe while other movers were packing and loading. Jon, Tyler and Trenton did an excellent job packing all my belongings and transporting them and all items arrived in perfect condition, with no breakage. I cannot say enough about how professional, easy to work with and polite, caring and efficient each of the movers were. I also had a followup visit yesterday to correct 2 small assembly issues. The crew they sent again were very polite and professional and more than helpful. I am forever grateful to the entire team at Moving Ahead Services for helping me with this move and making it a positive, fun, seamless and stressless move. I recently needed to hire a moving company for a relocation from the Medina area to the Columbus area. I contacted 3 companies, Leaders, American Van Lines and Moving Ahead Services. I choose Moving Ahead Services because they were not going to add an additional charges for tearing down exercise equipment, e.g. treadmill, elliptical, sauna, as well as book cases that needed to have molding removed and a tear down of a Theatre room. Also, their price was the best and they really took time with us prior to move. Kayla always checked in each month to see if our home sold to see if we needed to schedule our move. I needed to do two moves, one to an apartment until a home became available to purchase and our items went into storage that were not being moved into the apartment. The home was 6,000 square feet and this was a large move. Chris the manager came to meet with me prior to the move so we could go over the move prior to move day. He took time after to work to drop boxes off so I could save money on packing. This was very helpful. He continued to follow up on the days the movers were at our home. Scott was the crew leader and did an excellent job, he called me prior to arriving to let me know they were on their way. When they arrived they toured the home and Scott assigned each of the movers to the room they would be responsible for packing. The movers names were Scott, John, Jameson, Aaron Carp, Anthony, James A. James B and Chris (Bear). They were excellent. I bought them lunch and drinks and they only took 10 min to eat. They did not even sit down, they just kept moving to get the packing completed. They were clean and neat and very professional, but most of all polite. They worked very hard and never stopped. Scott took time at the end to go over the invoice and explain all the charges and this was very helpful. I look forward to working with this crew when I my items come out of storage and move into my next home. Moving Ahead Services moved me from Chicago to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Great moving experience! I've made numerous moves and this was far and away my best moving experience. By the time I called Moving Ahead, I was very frustrated and stressed as it was incredibly difficult to find movers to make the particular regional, interstate move I was making. I thought for sure this Ohio-based company would not be willing to do my move (or prohibitively expensive). What a welcome surprise from the moment I first spoke with Jeff. He was reassuring and extremely professional. My blood pressure hit the normal range again and the rest of the moving experience was easy and stress free. Although all the Moving Ahead staff were professional and first-rate in customer service, I cannot say enough about Anthony and Vinny who were my actual movers. They were exceptional. They moved me from two locations in Chicago (storage and a fourth-floor walk up) to my new home in Grand Rapids in one day. They were SO skilled and professional and friendly. It was amazing to watch them work (especially load the truck). You would have to see it for yourself to understand. The service was excellent!! It started with the email from Kayla then the phone conversation with Liz to confirm my daughters move. Both Liz and Kayla were kind, professional and very helpful. They gave me a quote that was very reasonable for the 3 large items we were moving from my daughters apartment. We had called other moving companies in the area and they were extremely high for just 3 items(queen bed, dinette set and a sofa). Once, the young men arrived the were very kind and professional by shaking both me and my daughter's hands and introducing themselves to us. The 2 guys were DeeShawn and Scott they arrived 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time, immediately started securing the doors and went upstairs with my daughter to look around the apartment. By the time I parked my car they were already bringing down the dinette chairs. From the time they arrived they were working. It took them 40 minutes to load everything into the truck then they were headed to my house. Once they arrived at my house they immediately started unloading and setting everything up. They completed the move in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I was very impressed with both DeeShawn and Scott they are true assets to the company. They showed up right on time with cheerful attitudes and went right to work. They took especially good care of our belongings, carefully removing everything from the warehouse, we had are things stored in, and placing them into their moving truck. Once they arrived at our new home, they thoughtfully laid down protective mats to protect the frames of our doors and our floors. They offloaded everything from the truck and ensured they knew exactly where we wanted each box, and belonging, to go. I hired Moving Ahead Services to move a large safe into my finished basement. The sales team was very responsive and friendly and worked with me to get the job done at an affordable cost to me and at a time that fit my schedule. I had doubts as to whether the safe would fit down the stairway into my basement (without damage), considering the size and weight of the safe and the 180 degree turn it had to make to get down to the basement. The Moving Ahead Services Team showed up right on time and handled it perfectly. I watched in disbelief as they maneuvered it down the steps without even touching a wall. They were very courteous and professional and worked very well together. This is the first time I have hired a moving company for anything, and I was a little nervous about how it would go, and who would show up at my house. We used Moving Ahead Services for a recent out-of-state move from Ohio to Nebraska. I am a licensed Realtor, so I deal with moving companies frequently AND our family happens to relocate quite a bit as well. We were faced with a difficult situation moving between nursing homes during the COVID crisis. To make matters worse the "move from" location facility director was really difficult to work with (completely awful) and limited us to only 2 people for the move which was unexpected and unnecessary . This left me unable to help pack boxes and all I could do was help with the front door while the two guys did all the work, packing and moving . Through extreme frustration, the guys handled it very well and packed all the boxes for me. It was a bit ugly but the bottom line is that they got it done and made the best of a extremely bad situation on the move out side. Move-in was a breeze outside of unscrambling the boxes. Hands down the best moving company I have ever used. I have moved over 12 times in the past 10 years, and the incremental quality of these guys versus everyone else was instant and long-lasting throughout the process. They are faster. They are more considerate. They are more professional. They are more careful. It's rare to find an entire crew of genuinely good people, but that's how our move went with these guys. Everyone of them - Tony G, Rob B, John S, Adam Z, Antwon M, and Germell L - were awesome. They moved our entire house - 2-26' trucks full of stuff - and set it properly in its final location. All staff was very professional. I didn't feel harassed like with other moving companies I was inquiring with. I did my virtual walk through for the estimate. They quoted me a reasonable price and advised of extras if I wished to purchase them. They emailed me my estimate. And emailed me if I had any questions to let them know. No constant harassing phone calls. They contacted me two days prior to confirm the the move was still on and the time the movers would be there. I got 6 guys and 2 trucks and they were early. They were all very professional. Talked amongst themselves and worked together to resolve any issues in moving some of the larger items. Also, kept me informed and asked me questions if needed. Jerome, Caesar, and Samm did my move on 5/21/19. They were friendly, attentive, and always asked me before moving anything anywhere or if certain things needed special instructions. Above all else, they moved with purpose, but without rushing. It was really fun to watch the efficiency at work. I think I noticed one of them even timing himself and/or being upset when he came up short on a personal goal he seemed to have on his mind. Point being, I could not have been happier with how everything was handled, from dispatch to the move itself. Timely and courteous reminders and a top-notch moving crew. Brian, Shamar and Xavier were phenomenal help. There was a fourth person who was there one day and not the following and they too were great. The whole team was efficient and gentle in the packing and staging process and the following day in the moving process. Xavier helped us work out the best way to maneuver our stuff in storage while we are in transition and all four men were friendly and professional. And they even put up with us realizing some changes needed to be made to what we packed. They didn't take any extra time either nor rushed the job. 10/10 would recommend. The phone and email staff (Kayla specifically) were so responsive and nice, and communicated with me when I could via il which is a huge bonus. On top of that I cannot believe the crew I had yesterday. They were AMAZING. Not only Damien and Josh and all the guys that came quick efficient and polite, they were fun too. They showed up with six guys and two trucks. Decided they only needed one truck and after loading everything they sent three guys home. This saved me money!!! They didn't have to do that but they did. They wrapped everything and even took special care with the few pieces that I was worried about. I gave short notice and called only a couple days before my move and they were able to accommodate me! Their pricing was better than their competitors and their service was top notch. The process from start to completion was smooth and error-free. The crews were professionals and took care with our processions. They asked questions when in doubt and never assumed. The crews were on time and did what they said they would do. It was clear that the crews were informed on the pre-work and understood the scope of work to be completed. The cost is based upon the time to complete the work and on both days, packing and unpacking, the start and end times were accurately reported and the crews were efficient, not taking breaks or "inflating" the time needed to complete the work. In December 2021, we used Moving Ahead Services and the move was fine. We decided to use them again The are good until you have a problem. A piece of furniture fell off the lift gate and was damaged in several areas. The third party claim co, Pittsburgh GM and HQ personnel on said you were not going to get more than 60 cents on the pound for the furniture. We since were told VP- Adam would call us back. This was 7 days ago. Still haven't heard from him. No communication system to leave a vmail. This was a training issue and now we are out of luck. How would you feel if this was your situation. We are only asking for repair value. The customer service in this situation for a company with stated core values, is very disappointing. read more

I highly recommend Moving Ahead Services. I moved from Cleveland to NYC and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, so I hired Moving Ahead Services to load my rental truck. I lived in a second story apartment with very steep stairs, and the guys arrived on time and did an amazing job. I had them booked for two hours (the minimum) and they did the whole job in an hour and a half. This job would have definitely taken my boyfriend and I the whole day, so this saved us a ton of time and energy that we needed for the long drive to NYC. The guys loaded the truck very well and everything arrived in one piece and was easy for our movers in NYC to unload.
