When my roommate moved out she used this company and after I witnessed their awesomeness first hand, I decided to use them as well. They moved a 1 bdrm from Queens to Manhattan in less than 3 hours. Awesome experience. I went with these guys because of the positive reviews here on Yelp and because they had it listed on their website that they move pianos. Indeed they do. They moved all of my stuff from a 2 bedroom roommate situation into my new studio apartment. They provided 4 guys for under $400. Amazing. Usually just moving the piano alone would cost that much. I seriously don't know how they make a profit but I'm not complaining. This is how much they quoted me, too, and I was happy the quote was correct. I used Rabbit before and they went way over their quote and arrived late- and their move didn't even involve the piano! So Moving Your Way wins. They also faxed me some sort of certificate of insurance, which was nice reassurance that my stuff would be OK. They only take a bank check, cash, or money order FYI, but for the price it's worth doing it that way. The man-with-a-van crew who originally moved my piano in years ago jacked up the finish by moving it up a flight of stairs ghetto-style with a handtruck. These guys had the whole pro setup with this crazy specific piano-moving device. None of my furniture was scratched. They arrived early. There were two younger guys, two older guys. I tipped them all $40 each, which a friend told me was high, but hey, it's hard work, I'm sure they get paid crap- like $15-20 an hour for hard labor, and they moved a freakin piano for me! They deserved every penny. They did not complain at all about the tip as some people mentioned here, though the one older guy who was turning up the charm for me reminded me at the end about tipping. Go with them. Pay them money. These guys are legit, cheap, and good. I will never move my own stuff again. read more

I was really excited to use these guys after reading these great reviews. They certainly got the job done but with a whole lot of complaining, whining and surly attitude. We moved from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom, both on first floors (no stairs). After dumping a couch that didn't fit, the three movers got everything else in, glaring at us and complaining about the job the whole time. They did "strongly suggest" a huge tip (over 40%) at the end. So, the job was done adequately but the horrible attitude and some intimidation at the end means I won't be calling again. read more

Simply awesome! We used Moving Your Way for our move last weekend and they were just as fantastic as a year ago. It was the same crew as last year and they remembered us, which was super cute. Our building double booked the service elevator, and it made me realize how fast these guys are. They moved us out hours ahead than the other crew. As a result of a realty nightmare, with a realtor leaving me high and dry days before I was supposed to move out of my apartment, I was in a serious pinch and had to put my things into storage. Friends had helped out the first day but it was too much for my loyal crew to handle, so I was left looking for movers. I ran down the list of reviews on Yelp and almost no one was available. Finally, Moving Your Way gave me a call back and fortuitously, they could arrive in a matter of hours. In fact, they arrived half an hour early! I was a little concerned because there were still some odds and ends I'd wanted to prep , package or pad, but this crew was totally on top of it. As I tended to one thing, they were wrapping and padding others. Even my fragile glass display cabinet was wrapped in cardboard, then tied off in moving pads and escorted gently down the stairs before I could bat an eye. Moving on your own can be completely overwhelming, and Moving Your Way was really a blessing in a serious time of stress. They had all of my stuff packed in their truck, and were rocketing off to the storage spot in no time. Once there, I was a little concerned that the space I'd gotten was too small, but again, Moving Your Way were brilliant about managing the space, getting every item in there like a physical Tetris game, leaving room to spare. Start to finish it was 3 hours and I was SO relieved that it was done. I was happy to tip them out. Yes, they did seem to want even more, but hey, can't blame them for asking. We really couldn't be happier with Moving Your Way. Igor was pleasant and helpful from the very beginning, and the crew that handled our move on the ground was fantastic. A crew of 4 guys showed up right on time and had us out of our ground floor 2-bed and into our new 2-bed in a second-floor walk-up in less than three hours. Everything was handled with care, the delicate items wrapped, and when we arrived at the new spot, placed in the right rooms, right down to their exact locations. A year after my move, I am writing this review - these guys were that good. I had read the NY mag article on them and the reviews on yelp and got a quote - they were very reasonable and Igor was great over the phone and on email. They moved me from a 3 bed 1.5 ba apt to another in Queens, with a stop in between to drop off a few things at my soon to be xhusband's new apt. These guys were FAST, FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, and KIND. They took special care with my things, wrapped everything up well. As others have said these guys range in age from young to older - and from a super skinny little guy (who carried, like, 80 times his weight without a pause) to a big guy. I would recmd them purely based on the above - but on top of everything else, the crew leader put together my son's crib for me, mentioning his son as he did so. And when I cried a bit at my husband's apartment, they were respectful and kind and asked if i needed help, making sure there wasn't trouble before giving me my space. Kind of cracks me up that someone said they were "spooky". No way! Will continue to refer them to anyone I know who's looking for a mover and will use them the next time I move for sure. read more

Pro- efficient. Cons- I tried calling Igor at the office multiple times (x8) to confirm my pick up appointment and was never called back until 5 mins before. They moved my stuff (about a medium-sized load) to a 5th floor walk up in under 2 hours, which was fantastic (albeit only a few blocks away). The price was $112/hr, 3hr minimum. I gave them, in my mind, a great tip...then the guy (Romeo) asked me IN FRONT OF ALL 4 MOVERS to tip them more. I was forced into an incredibly awkward situation which I did not appreciate at all. Be thankful that I even tipped you at all after your "manager" didn't call me back. Advice: shop around. No company wants to lose business and I'm sure they'll work with you for a better price. read more

Completely wowed by the entire experience. All of the movers were nice, efficient, and helpful throughout the moving process. My roommate and I moved from a 3rd floor walk up on UWS to a 4th floor walk up in the East Village. The four guys got everything done and moved within three hours, were careful with our stuff (which included a couch, two beds, two dressers, and several bags of fragile dishes), and brought along tape, packing plastic, and furniture pads. They showed up early (we were not even fully packed), but we got everything together quickly and finished easily. Life savers, truly. Priced for our two bedroom: four guys, 3 hour minimum $112/hour, excluding tip. They could quickly and easily provide movers insurance for our buildings. Thank you so much! read more

Let me start by saying, I decided to use these guys after I read the awesome Yelp reviews. My fellow reviewers were completely on point. These guys are incredible. I was moving to a Coop building which required very detailed insurance for movers, and they provided me with it incredibly quickly via email. Igor, the one who operates the email / scheduling, is awesome and very speedy. He gives very detailed replies. I had an 8 AM move schedule, they showed up at 7:45, legally parked their truck and went over all the paperwork with me in detail to be sure I was happy with the insurance/pricing. They did not start charging me for moving time till they were actually lifting boxes and moving--very respectable of them. After that, three guys (Oleg, Sasha and Kolay) were like machines. They moved me (from a studio to a one bedroom) in less than two hours. They did not complain at all about the walk up (it is four flights of stairs, and steep, pretty brutal), and they did not charge me extra for it. They brought their own dolleys, and have extra saran wrap/boxes/wardrobes/tapes just in case. My furniture and boxes arrived perfectly, I am very pleased with the experience and would recommend them to anyone. There is a three hour minimum to move, but unless your apartment is huge/you have tons of stuff, they'll get it done faster. They are definitely worth the three hour minimum, and even after the tip, I felt that the price was very reasonable for the high quality of service provided. read more

Moving Your Way may be the best moving company I've ever worked with, hands down. I just moved with them from the Upper East Side to Brooklyn. They're extremely FAST and competent. Our 1 bedroom apartment was emptied, wrapped with tape and blankets, and within the truck in just under 1 hour. I was incredibly stressed over moving from a 2nd floor walk up to a 3rd floor walk up. I went back and forth with Igor and I am honestly surprised that he put up with me as patiently as he did. In hindsight, my anxiety definitely got the better of me. Come moving day, we were not even done packing. But, somehow, Ollie and his team got us from Brooklyn Heights to Sunset Park. It was literally just as simple as pointing at everything and they moved it. They even got the whole move finished in the minimum 3 hours (with travel time!!!). I was floored by how amazing and courteous they were. We ended up giving them a 45% tip without even batting an eye. WITH TIP, these guys moved me at LESS than the next best quote that I received (and I called 4-5 other companies). I've moved a bunch of times in the city and I have never had a better experience. Honestly-- I am blown away by how amazing and efficient Igor has made his company. THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOVING SERVICE IN NYC.. I called Igor on a Monday afternoon -- he was able to move me the following day with zero planning. 4 floor walk up to a 2 floor walk up, no problem. I did not pack a SINGLE THING even my clothes or toiletries. His team packed and moved everything extremely efficiently all in just under 3 hours for $270. This is ridiculously inexpensive for the quality of service provided. It included wrapping all fragile pieces carefully, as well as over 20 art pieces ranging from sculptures to paintings (some very valuable). The team he sent to pack was friendly, trustworthy, and worked very efficiently. Igor is great guy and shockingly easy to coordinate with. We recently completed a relatively complicated move with Moving Your Way. The others reviews are true - they did an awesome job. We picked up furniture and boxes from three apartments (2 in manhattan, 1 in brooklyn) and moved everything into an apartment in brooklyn on 2 floors. Despite our estimated amount of stuff falling laughably short of what we actually requested them to move (seriously, we probably were 50% off on our estimate!) they finished everything within half an hour of the requested time. They broke one low hanging light in the new apartment, but 5.5 hours into a job when the estimate was off....we can barely fault them for that. Everything else was handled with care; it was especially impressive watching them wrap up furniture. There were a few unexpected fees, especially charging us for their "wardrobe boxes" (which are 100% re-usable anyway?). We tipped generously and were still "shaken down" (as other reviewers noted) for an additional tip. Even with the few unexpected fees, extra tip, broken light, and horrible estimates on our side, I couldn't recommend these guys enough - they were professional, fast, efficient, careful, and still beat out the competition in price. 5/5, will absolutely use them for our next move. read more

I have used them twice now. Their prices are reasonable. They are on time and they work very hard. I had two very large mirrors and they packaged them up nicely and handled them with care. Great experience. Igor (the owner?) answered all my anxious questions by email the same day. I had two movers move me out of a one-bedroom garden level brownstone apt into a UHaul that we rented. They managed to get a big heavy sleeper couch around a tough-to-manouver corner that could break down anyone and they continued to be pleasant and polite. They also walked up the street and picked up an armoire that a neighbor gave me. Our truck was probably smaller than it should have been and they fit everything in like a puzzle. They worked for 2 1/2 hrs and I gave each guy a $30 tip. At my destination, 2 states away, everything was perfectly packed, nothing broke or was scratched (and that was with my crummy packing job). read more

This was a mixed bag. They were punctual and worked very hard, and got a complicated move done in roughly the time they had estimated. But it did not feel like they cared too much about what they were doing - or our possessions. Nothing broke in the end, but they needed a lot of supervision with packing artwork and organizing supplies. Half-way through the packing process, they discovered that they had left the bubble wrap and paper at the back of the truck while loading - which made it impossible to reach. We had to go out and buy supplies ourselves. What they provided was mostly already used boxes, which I am all in favor of, in principle. What I am less in favor of is that we were charged full price for them. All in all, they got the job done alright, but I do not think I would go with them again. I picked them mostly for sentimental reasons - they are local, in Brooklyn. Turns out that's not the best way to pick movers. read more

They were spot on! These guys had a complicated move. Removing items from my apartment in Harlem. Some items going to Queens, others going to storage in NJ. Everything went where it was supposed to go. Nothing was ruined/damaged. They were kind, courteous and professional. They even set up my baby's crib at he final destination. Absolutely fantastic movers. Used another local service last year to move from 56th St in Manhattan to 190th and it took twice as long, cost twice as much, and even took more movers than it took to go from 190th in Manhattan to lower Brooklyn (still scratching my head at that one). Igor and the MYW crew were lightning fast, spot on with the estimate, didn't nick or scratch a thing, and were a joy to work with. They even showed up a half hour early on a Saturday morning, which was impressive and helpful. Seriously, I've never seen a move go so fast and so smoothly and I've moved well over 20 times in my life. As far as the move went, things went pretty smoothly. They were patient as they had to unscrew my entire platform bed (one screw at a time!), and did a fast and thorough job carefully wrapping my furniture and moving things downstairs. What didn't go so smoothly? - One of the guys got into screaming matches with the maintenance guys at BOTH my old and new buildings (what's with the attitude??). Things got messy when the maintenance man and mover decided to 'take things outside' - They were extremely pushy with my tip (claiming they had brought one extra guy as a favor to me, but didn't charge me extra - they do this so that one person can stay in the van so that they don't get a ticket) read more

We hired Moving Your Way to move from Park Slope out of the City to Dutchess County last month. They were terrific - they worked hard & fast, they were careful with our fragile stuff, and they finished over an hour earlier than expected. I was a little nervous going with an hourly rate, so I asked for a flat rate fee, and they agreed to cap the cost at a certain number of hours based on an inventory I emailed them. However, in the end, they completed the job a lot faster than expected and only charged us for the time they worked. This was a somewhat complicated move, with a pick-up at a Park Slope storage unit, a second pick-up at a third floor Park Slope walk-up, and a two-hour drive to the new place. They showed up on time, and everything went really smoothly. They were even kind of friendly. I think it helped that we were assisting with the move, provided water, and carrying some of the boxes ourselves. When they were done, they were professional about settling payment (we paid by check), gracious in accepting the tip we gave them (we tipped in cash), and gave us a friendly honk & wave as they drove the van away. i had a pretty straightforward move- EXCEPT i had a couch that needed to be hoisted from the third floor window. it simply would not get through the stairwell. After checking 14 other companies and either getting a flat NO or ridiculously outrageous quote- Moving Your Way agreed to do it. They were efficient, careful, affordable and punctual. I would certainly use them again. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is because one of the movers had a nasty attitude, and they tried to shake me down for additional tip- even though I paid for more hours than they worked (the actual move time was well below the minimum hours agreed to) AND I already tipped them decently. Still, I would certainly use them again. I should also note that I packed my own belongings. They only wrapped paintings, furniture, etc, so I cannot speak to their packing ability. read more

Moving Your Way really is as great as all the reviews make it out to be. I kept asking myself, why does this seem too good to be true...and it really is as good as it sounds. 3 guys moved my entire 1BR apt (50 boxes, numerous large pieces of furniture, etc) from Manhattan to Brooklyn in less than 5 hours for half the price of the closest competition (I had received competitive quotes from Moishe's, Flat Rate, Rabbit, Roadway, etc). The 3 movers were as professional as could be throughout the entire process. They were efficient, super quick, and still treated all my possessions with care. Not a single item broke in the move. I was never pressured into giving a tip, but did not hesitate to give a 30% tip split evenly amongst the crew. They were all very appreciative. I really like that they charged an hourly rate as opposed to by volume, so I didn't have to fret over how many boxes needed to be moved. I knew from the start exactly how much it would cost based on the time it took, and there were no last minute surprises especially since they moved everything so fast that it took less time than anticipated. Moving in NY in general is never a pleasant experience...but Moving Your Way made it as smooth a process as possible. if you have to move, use these guys and you won't be disappointed. read more

I then went on to use two other horrible moving companies that ripped me off and did an awful/sloppy job. The movers themselves were great and worked efficiently. Was quoted 108/hr for 4 guys and they moved some very heavy furniture from a 4 floor walk up to an elevator building. However, they had made no mention of needing to be paid in cash and it does not state this requirement anywhere on the website. Extremely inconvenient to have to shell out that much cash without being told so beforehand. The first time this was mentioned was when I pulled my credit card out to pay once the move was complete. read more
