I did not do a good job of reading the full details upon arriving so I showed up on their first floor salon. I got checked in by a very lovely young hostess and she escorted me to the other location which was up the stairs and away from the main floor. I'm so glad she showed me because I would've been so lost! lol She offered me a glass of sparkling wine while I waited. Both salons were so cute and chic, the decor was exotic and exciting. I sipped on my Prosecco and was taken in shortly after. I got a wash and she conditioned my hair before cutting it. Then she took her gracious time to blow out all of my hair and even did some touch ups with her iron to put the finishing touches on it. My hair was feeling light, sleek and smooth! I made an appointment with Rachel for hair and makeup on Saturday, the day of the wedding, as well as an appointment for the prior Wednesday because I desperately needed a haircut as well as color. I was pretty nervous, as this was a leap of faith that I'm not used to taking. I explained the situation to Rachel, and she immediately put me at ease. We discussed the style (up-do) that I wanted for the wedding, as she assessed what would be the best course to get the results that I wanted. I had been coloring my own hair and it needed a serious amount of correction. She took a few "before" pics and then she got started. She began by blunt cutting the dead ends off, and removing some of the length, about 4 inches give or take. She began a very long correction and coloring process that lifted some of the awful color that I had ended up with and blended several beautiful colors in a balayage process. She then proceeded with a real haircut, and style. The total process took a fair amount of time, and I was in a hurry to get to the hotel and meet up with my sister, so I rushed out, and hurried through a few pictures that her assistant wanted to take. She showed them to me, and I asked to see the "befores". OMG!! The change was nothing short of epic! She hadn't changed the color in a drastic way, but the layering of beautiful tones as well as the best haircut I've had in many years was simply amazing. The confidence she gave me as I started a four day wedding weekend with people I had yet to meet was off the charts, and meant more to me than she could possibly know. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to afford flying to Charleston every six weeks or so because I don't want anyone else touching my hair! I couldn't have been more impressed. Joey explained all my options, products and pricing, and I now have the beautiful copper red that I've been asking for, at a competitive price. They had emailed me back by the next morning. They said to call and ask for an appointment with Joey, the color specialist. I called and Joey answered the phone. I made an appointment for later in the week on Friday. Friday rolled around. I got to the salon around 2pm. Cosmotique is such a pretty salon! The building looks like it is shaped like an octagon. It is painted a beautiful shade of purple. They decorate with stars, suns, and moons! Inside the salon is just as beautiful. They have these cool star lights hanging by the windows. I was promptly greeted upon arrival. They told me to put a robe on from their selection in the bathroom. You can take your clothes off and hang them up in there, but I kept my dress on and just wore the robe over it. The bathroom was even pretty!!! When I got to the salon chair, Joey started asking me a bunch of questions about how I want my hair. I showed him a few pictures that I was looking at for ideas. On the email I sent the salon, I said I wanted my hair purple and blue. After looking through the Pinterest photos with Joey, we decided to add teal to the purple and blue hair. I was so happy that he had teal on hand already. No need to order it ahead of time. After Joey got a good idea of what I wanted done, he started the process. First, I needed highlights. So out came the bleach and foil. After he got it all foiled, he told me to just wait for about 20 minutes for it to set. So at that point I got a short break. When that was done, he took out the foil and washed my hair. We got back to the chair and he started to paint on the color! That had to sit for a few minutes also before he rinsed it out of my hair. Joey used the blow dryer to get my hair dry and pretty looking. He offered to style it anyway I wanted, but I liked it how it was! I was satisfied so I told him so and he let me go. The true test was when I went to use Snapchat after getting my hair done. I looked into my screen at myself and I said, WOW! My hair looks fabulous. I feel like a brand new person with this new hair color! I absolutely love it. Thank you, Joey, for doing such a great job! Thank you to everyone at Cosmotique for always being so nice!!
